For Birth Control "This pill, in my opinion, is the worst form of birth control to take. I took it for 2 months. The first month was fine; the second was horrible. Been on my period for 3 weeks with very heavy bleeding and HUGE blood clots. Waking up in the middle of the night 2 or 3 times to change, along with the worst cramps ever. Felt depressed, mood swings, anxiety, rapid heartbeat, and felt out of breath. I have also been feeling as if I have vertigo; thought it was just me, but saw others had this problem as well. I do not recommend this birth control."

For Birth Control "I have been on Sprintec for 20 days now and am still bleeding really badly. Super moody, depressed, no sex drive, nausea, weight loss, extremely tired, dizzy. Hoping that my period ends soon, or I will be switching."

For Birth Control "This was the first birth control I was put on, and I’ve been on it for 10 months. I have LOVED this pill. My acne went away, no weight gain, boobs grew a size or two, no loss of appetite, lighter periods... literally perfect. Except for 2 things: nausea and depression. From the very beginning, I had really bad nausea, dizziness, and vomiting that would last for the first week back from a period or if I skipped a pill. I suffered with seasonal depression, but the 10 months I was on it made it drag on. So my doc just switched me to Junel, so we’ll see. Honestly, loved this pill. BUT remember... your body is different than mine, and you will have different reactions."

For Birth Control "As soon as I started my first pack of Sprintec, I immediately was having severe depression and mood swings. I am a healthy, fun-loving, young girl who has little problems in life. This medication made me feel horrible about myself and gave me a really negative outlook on daily activities. My boyfriend commented on my mood changes and obvious depression and lack of enthusiasm for activities I used to enjoy."

For Birth Control "I started Sprintec in September, so I'm going on my 3rd month. I have mixed feelings about it. I don't receive bad cramps anymore, and my acne doesn't come around when my period is here. I don't like that I get depressed or sad, and my last period lasted 17 days. My doctor told me to stop for some days, then start again, and she told me to not take the placebos. Overall, I'd recommend, I'm 16, which means I might be a different candidate."

For Birth Control "This pill has been effective as far as controlling any pregnancy, but since I have been taking it, my sex drive has lessened, and I've become moody more often. I feel mildly depressed most days and don't have much interest in anything at all. However, I have always been a very motivated person, so I have tried my best to still work myself out at the gym and do things I love. I feel more negative about things than positive. I am about to get off the pill and just give my body a break from any added hormones!"

For Birth Control "I was on Sprintec for 9 months and finally decided to stop taking it. On the good side, I had very light periods and no cramping, but sometimes my period would be all over the place and come twice in one month. The negative side of things was depression, and lots of sadness and mood swings. Basically, an emotional rollercoaster. I've stopped taking it for good, but if you are taking it and feel great on it, then that is good too! Just thought I'd share my personal experience with you."

For Birth Control "I've been on Sprintec for close to two years now. As of late, I have experienced horrible side effects. I have had major constipation that has caused severe anal fissures. I have had heightened anxiety and depression in the last 8 months. Abdominal pain, bloating, etc. I seriously thought something was wrong with my health. I had abdominal and vaginal ultrasounds, urine and blood tests, STD tests, and everything came back fine. Yet, the symptoms still continued. I was scared and hopeless, as these were things I had never experienced in my life. It wasn't until recently, after doing research and talking with my friends, that I realized Sprintec was causing these exact symptoms I was experiencing. I decided after my last pack to stop the pill."

For Birth Control "I started Sprintec when I was 17 (now 18). It did its job, and I was ecstatic. Around a year, I gained 15 pounds and noticed that my anxiety and depression were getting worse than previously. I expressed concern to my OBGYN and was repeatedly told that Sprintec does NOT affect those things. Fast forward to the week I stopped, there wasn’t a moment of my life for the past several months that wasn’t in crippling fear. Car rides, my loved ones out to kill me, losing my boyfriend... I was at the point of insanity and extremely close to the edge. I made an appointment with a DIFFERENT doctor to get on meds, but since I really didn’t want to, we decided to try a different type of contraceptive. It’s been 2 weeks since I stopped, and I’ve slowly been able to do the things that caused me immense amounts of fear. My panic attacks are still here, but they’re less often and intense. It honestly feels weird not consistently being anxious and depressed. If you are suffering, please don’t be afraid to stop/switch."

For Birth Control "I give it 3 out of 10, for 3 reasons: 1. No babies 2. It did regulate my cycle 3. When I wanted to skip my cycle, it worked right away. Negative: 1. My sex drive went to almost 0 2. My depressive episodes made more frequent appearances 3. Mood swings 4. I'm working with doctors to see if this has been the cause of other health issues I've started to have around the same time this medicine was started 5. I've gained about 15 pounds 6. I get periods of time that I'm just exhausted more than my normal would be around my cycle."

For Birth Control "I've been on this for almost a year. Started out perfect. Shorter periods, no symptoms or PMS. The last two months have been a nightmare. I've had major depression and anxiety and awful PMS. When I stop taking it for the week I have my period, I feel anxious, depressed, moody, and emotional. Almost like my body is going through withdrawals from it. Doctor put me on antidepressants, but after reading these reviews, I think this BC is causing it. Everyone is different, my friend has been on it for years and has no issues, but I don't like it at all."

For Birth Control "I was using this medication because of extreme bleeding reasons, and my doctor felt it may help. While it did help the bleeding, it had horrible side effects. I was constantly hot and could never get comfortable, hungry all the time, very low sex drive, suicidal thoughts, horrible nightmares, depression, and emotionally unstable... To name a few! I took the medication for 4 months and finally convinced my doctor that I needed something else. Within one week off of that medication, I felt 50% better, and by two weeks, I was 100% better. I have no idea who has had success with this medication because two other women that I spoke with felt the same as me. If you are taking this to 'fix' another problem, please consider the side effects!"

For Birth Control "I would not recommend this birth control. I am 21 and have been on many birth controls in the past. Ever since I started it, I have been having extreme anxiety, depression, OCD, and loss of appetite. I feel sick 24/7. I can't even go out to eat anymore because food is unappetizing and scents bother me. This birth control has made me want to be constantly isolated and alone. I have no desire to do schoolwork, which is unusual for me, and I will lay in bed all day and stare at my ceiling. I feel like my life is fake, and I'm watching myself from the outside. I have no sex drive, and if I do, I immediately dry up, which makes it difficult. It is not worth the emotional burden it will cause you. It gives me a very light 3-day period, which is the only plus."

For Birth Control "I started taking birth control for the first time back in October. Since I was 23 and had never been on the pill, I was expecting the worst: weight gain, acne, mood swings, no sex drive... and for the first 2 months of Sprintec, I can say all of that was true. But I just finished month 3 on Sprintec and WOW. My face is a smooth porcelain complexion, I've lost several pounds, my sex drive has been gradually growing week by week, and my mood swings are dissipating. I still get PMS-like symptoms the week before my placebos, but I had those before the pill, so really no complaint there. My depression hasn't improved, but it hasn't gotten worse either. I was depressed before the pill, so I can't say if Sprintec has affected that any."

For Ovarian Cysts "About 4 1/2 years ago, I had surgery to remove a corpus luteum cyst and another cyst that burst. Since then, I have been on Sprintec with no other cyst-related problems. I have no mood swings, nausea, depression... basically no negative side effects, except for a little weight gain. I can't complain about that."

For Birth Control "Sprintec did the job of preventing pregnancy, but the side effects are not worth it. I have experienced extreme mood swings, some of the worst depression of my life, anxiety, paranoia (“Do my friends hate me?”), and I have gained 13 pounds in 4 months. Plus, my acne has gone back to pre-teen-level bad, including on my back, shoulders, and chest. And I never actually know when my period will start. Sometimes it’s a week before the placebo week (a 14+ day period!), sometimes it’s a day or two after (pregnancy scare). I also had my first ever yeast infection after antibiotics while on this pill, which I saw mentioned in another review. My boobs did get bigger, but they are often sore. My waist got bigger too! :( The only reason I didn’t give this 1/10 is because it did prevent pregnancy. (Though I’m on the second day of the placebo right now and have not started my period, so we’ll see.) But I will be stopping Sprintec immediately and finding a different pill."

For Birth Control "Switched from Depo-Provera shot to Sprintec pills after 2 weeks of continuous bleeding. I was depressed and irritated I was bleeding. I read almost every review about Depo and thought I'd get lucky and not get breakthrough bleeding, but I did. Called my doctor to switch BC so I can stop bleeding, started the pills right away, and within a few days the bleeding stopped completely, and my emotions are getting better. If anyone is going through the same thing, I highly recommend Sprintec."

For Birth Control "I was on this BC for 8 years, and it wasn't until I got off of it that I realized how horrible it was for me. I had terrible mood swings, anxiety, and depression. I felt psycho. I experienced hair loss, extreme bloating, and frequent constipation. I was diagnosed with IBS while on this BC. I was constantly tired. The only positives for me are I never got pregnant while on it, and my periods only lasted for about 2 days. Everyone is different, but watch yourself closely while on this BC. I was miserable because of it, and I didn't even know it."

For Birth Control "This is the worst birth control. I was on another brand until insurance wouldn't cover any longer, was told this was the same thing. It is NOT. I have never had such severe anxiety and depression in my life. Lightheaded every day, out of it and foggy brain, tired, cranky, nauseous. I feel as though I don't control my own mind and body anymore. Stopped taking last week and am hoping the side effects go away soon. Please listen to me when I say, do not take this one - it will mess up your hormones and has the worst side effects of any birth control on the market."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I have been on Sprintec for about 3 years now, and I can only say that I had problems for the first month of using it. During that month, I had terrible mood swings and was very irritable and depressed, but I adjusted soon after. My breasts have grown, my period has regulated completely, and my skin is almost always clear. It's a dream pill."

For Ovarian Cysts "The only reason I gave this birth control a 2 was because it made my periods last two days, and my acne wasn't as bad. That's the only good thing I have to say about it. It has my anxiety come back, severe nausea, bad acid reflux, migraines, mood swings, insomnia, depression at times, and extremely tender breasts. It's hard to go off someone else's experiences because everyone is different."

For Birth Control "Have been on this for just about 2 months now. Definitely helped my skin, which was usually pretty good to begin with, but on my last BC became really bad and cystic - not a problem now! Had already gained around 10 lbs from the last one, and that weight is slowly dropping. Period is only about 3-4 days. I’ve never been someone to deal with depression, but since starting this, it’s become prevalent. I don’t think it’s just from the BC because life factors/stressors have definitely played a role, but I feel like Sprintec may be making that even worse! Overall good in every way except for the depression. Probably going to stick it out and see if it gets better..."

For Birth Control "This drug should NOT be allowed on the market. Severe anxiety, horrible depression, and loss of appetite. 1st month was okay, however, the second month was horrible. It has made me question the happiest I have ever been. My doctor had to prescribe anxiety medicine to help me get through the work week. Thank God it takes the depression away as well. Awful, awful drug!"
