For Birth Control "After years of Mirena, I switched to this pill. I had been on the pill when I was younger and had mild side effects initially, but this pill is the worst. I've been taking it for almost 2 months and have missed 3 days of work from being so sick. I've actually lost weight from the constant nauseousness and occasional vomiting. Also, headaches, boobs hurt, mood swings, no energy, little sex drive. I finally called my doctor and we're switching to another pill. Based on other reviews, it sounds like my experience is not uncommon. My boyfriend finally convinced me to get off this pill and said he just wants his girlfriend back."

For Birth Control "I have been on this pill for about three months now. It's my first type of birth control I've ever taken, so I have nothing to compare it to. The first two months, symptom-wise, were horrid. I got extreme mood swings, horrid acne (my skin has always been clear), weight gain, and tender breasts. After the two months, however, the symptoms went completely away. I did have irregular periods before, but now they come at the exact time thanks to this pill. That's why I gave it 5 stars."

For Birth Control "I got put on Taytulla because my body is sensitive to hormones. I’ve always had problems being on birth control with bad mood swings and depression. My doctor recommended this to me because it’s a low dose. I’m on my 3rd pack right now. The first month I broke out on my face really bad, but it cleared up on the second pack! It completely stopped my period, I have no PMS symptoms at all! I take my pill every day at the same time. I took a test just to make sure I’m not pregnant! I did gain a few pounds, nothing too major. Other than that, I love this birth control!"

For Birth Control "I’ll start off by saying this pill gave me all the side effects, but at least I didn't get pregnant, which was the point. I’ve gained 17 pounds of weight in the 8 months I’ve been on it. I'm ALWAYS bloated, my anxiety is on 1000, and it’s hard for me to do simple tasks without being overwhelmed by my emotions. Other than the weight gain, anxiety, and extreme mood swings, the pill did what it was supposed to do. Every body reacts differently."

For Birth Control "When I started taking this medication, my period got crazy heavy to the point I almost passed out. I bled through a tampon and thick panties! That period only lasted three days, but then I started another period a week later. I knew this was normal when you start birth control, so I wasn't too worried. I got a period every other week for three months, and it had started affecting my mood during the periods (this wouldn't be bad if it weren't literally every other week). The depression is finally what got to me, and I have switched pills. We shall see what happens next."

For Birth Control "This is the first birth control I’ve been on, and it is HORRIBLE. Would never recommend to anyone for any reason. My anxiety is at an all-time high, and my migraines are worse. I’ve also become more depressed by the day. Awful, awful mood swings. Totally not worth it. Don’t try it!!"

For Birth Control "This would be my third time reviewing. I am a happy camper. I've been on this pill just shy of a year. Despite all of these negative reviews, I can personally say that this pill has done nothing but amazing for me. It prevents pregnancy, cleared my acne that I struggled with for years. Very light periods with barely any breakthrough bleeding. No mood swings or anxiety. My weight has stayed the same. My appetite has increased, but no weight gain. And I struggled with terrible cramps since being a teen, and with this pill, I have mild to no cramps at all during the placebo week. Before going off of all these negative reviews, give it a try. It's worked for me. Everyone's body is different."

For Birth Control "I have been on Taytulla for about a month and a half now. This is the first type of BC I have ever tried. Since starting, my periods have stopped with some breakthrough bleeding in the first month and now just some light spotting. After reading these reviews, I understand why I have been so emotional. I am known for my thick skin, but after starting this pill, I noticed I would become so upset, almost to the point of crying, which is NOT me. Also, I just had my first anxiety attack EVER. I have never struggled with depression or anxiety in the past, but now I feel in a constant slump, which scares me. My once clear skin is now in a terrible breakout. I understand that I still need to give time for my hormone levels to balance, but is this normal? Especially a 'mild' BC like my gyno described it as? I feel like a pimpled face hormonal freak, which is making me crazy. I am planning to finish out my sample pack. Set an appointment this week with my gyno to hopefully resolve this issue..."

For Birth Control "I was just switched to this pill to try to stop my period. I have only been on it for less than two weeks, and I'm experiencing severe abdominal cramping, mood swings, and depression. I will be stopping this medicine immediately and returning to my previous birth control pills, which I had no problems at all with. I do not recommend this to anyone trying to lessen cramps or period length, it's not worth it."

For Birth Control "In the last 3 months, while taking this pill, I have gained weight (my mom keeps asking me why I look pregnant...I'm also 21 years old), my acne came back after years of clear skin, my depression and anxiety exploded out of nowhere (my therapist hasn't seen me in months because I was doing so well), I am overly emotional and cry for hours over nothing (and my doctor wanted me to go on this pill to reduce this, whoops), and the comments on this page make so much sense to why this is happening to me. It sounds like half of the people on this pill do really well or REALLY badly. When I told my doctor about my mood swings, she told me to try another pill, which gave me an allergic reaction and, even after the steroid shot, I'm still in a constant wave of slight discomfort. It might be from this pill, not too sure. I am getting off this pill at the end of my cycle, and I'll either try something new or not go on at all because I am sick of this constant battle with myself."

For Birth Control "Reading so many BC reviews, I was terrified of starting it. From the mood swings, gaining weight, horrible cramps. I'm already a temperamental person, so I did not need something to elevate that. So far, I have been on Taytulla for 1 month, and the first 2 weeks were great. No nausea, no headaches, NOTHING. Week 3, I had NO desire to have sex. Taytulla was certainly doing its job! I don't know if it was the stress of work/school, or I no longer wanted to be with that person, or if I didn't find them attractive anymore, or if it was just the pill overall. I did not experience any anxiousness or depression. Everything is back to normal right now. In regard to cost, apparently my insurance didn't cover it, BUT my doctor did give me a sample, and with that sample came a little savings card, registered online and got 3 months for $25. I had an activation code, but you can go to their website, and it gives you the same information to sign up. So far, I'm a happy camper with this pill."

For Birth Control "At first, this was great, but I would have some breakthrough bleeding. Fast forward to a year later, and I've had three periods in a month. I get very emotional, and I am constantly cramping, and I never did before I started this pill. I would not recommend."

For Birth Control "I switched over to Taytulla from Apri because it promoted having lighter periods, but this pill has caused more problems in my life than I could have expected. In just the first month, I suffered anxiety, mood swings, depression, nausea, cramps, and a huge cyst on the side of my head. We've been cautious in bed so I don't think I'm pregnant, but I haven't gotten my period yet, which has caused my anxiety to skyrocket even more. Being on this pill has made me feel less of myself than any other medication. I'll be switching back to Apri next month as I'd rather have heavier periods than all of the above! That said, this is my experience with Taytulla; other women might have a different, more positive one."

For Birth Control "I was given a script for Taytulla to help with my PCOS. I've gone through one packet. This will be my only packet of it. It has caused mood swings. It has amplified my anxiety. It has made me depressed. It's caused horrible fatigue. When I got my period, my cramps have been worse than they've ever been in my life, and that's quite the accomplishment because they've always been bad. My period has been a flood. I've had to empty my menstrual cup every five hours when I usually only have to do so every ten hours."

For Birth Control "I was prescribed Taytulla after having an ectopic pregnancy. My doctor told me that I needed to wait 90 days before trying again. So the first package of Taytulla that I took, I had no complaints. I'm on my second package, and I've had nonstop nausea, it's so bad I want to go to the hospital. Then I read reviews where women were gaining weight and having mood swings. Those things are now accurate for me. And I'm upset because I lost 100 pounds, so to turn around and gain 17 pounds is very discouraging. My poor husband has been the target of my mood swings. I would like to wait to try for another baby, but I am done as of today taking this birth control pill."

For Birth Control "Was diagnosed with endometrial hyperplasia and a fibroid tumor, so the gynecologist gave me Taytulla to try. I took this birth control for 4 or 5 months, it caused a lot of side effects: mood swings, insomnia was the worst, bled every day because I was trying to avoid a period, only taking active pills pack to pack, very emotional, and also had severe hot flashes. When I stopped the pill and had a period, it was a lot lighter, but the side effects aren't worth it."

For Birth Control "I was on Taytulla for about three or four months. During the time I was on it, my regular period got longer by about three days, and I started having a period every twice a month, additionally, they occurred at different times each month. I had awful mood swings, and my skin broke out terribly. This birth control was so awful for me that I stopped taking it altogether. However, I have a friend that takes it, and they've had no bad side effects."

For Birth Control "Absolutely do not take this birth control unless you want to have severe migraines, anxiety, fast heart rate, mood swings, and an upset stomach every day! I took it for 2 months and finally ruled this out and ran out of options. As soon as I stopped taking this BC, my life returned back to normal. Thank gosh!"

For Birth Control "This medication has been great. I used to have heavy periods, terrible mood swings, and premenstrual cramping. Taytulla has helped me keep the mood swings under control and has made my periods super light. I haven't noticed any weight gain, and my skin is really clear! The first 2 months were rocky. I had an EXTRA heavy period, and both months they were the most painful periods ever! It is now the end of month 3, and I can honestly say it's going to be smooth sailing from here on out. I'm so glad I stuck with this birth control!"

For Birth Control "Taytulla was the first birth control I ever used. I have PCOS as well as insulin resistance. Before taking Taytulla, I would have terrible PMS and lots of hair loss. The first month of taking Taytulla was pretty rough due to lots of mood swings and 15 days of spotting! However, after the spotting stopped, I noticed that my acne decreased, my hair loss decreased, and my mood was much more stabilized. Unfortunately, I had to stop taking Taytulla after 2 months because my insurance stopped covering it. I did not gain any weight on the pill even though I am insulin resistant, which is great. I think this is a great pill for people to start out with."

For Birth Control "Taytulla was the first birth control I tried, and I've been very pleased with the results after a year of taking it! I was expecting the typical birth control symptoms (bloating, spotting, acne, etc.), but the only thing that I've noticed is that I tend to get emotional the week before I start my period (I blame PMS). Prior to starting Taytulla, I had very bad cramping on the first two days of my period... like really bad... but now that's completely gone and my periods are virtually gone to the point that I only wear a panty liner. Definitely going to stick with it!"

For Birth Control "I have been on Yaz for years but changed over to Taytulla 2 months ago after moving to the USA and needing a bit more progesterone than Yaz offered. I definitely found myself eating a bit more in the first few weeks, and I put on a couple of pounds, but I've got that back under control now, 8 weeks later. I also find that the week of ovulation I am a bit more short-tempered with my kids, nothing too serious. Yes, the first 6 weeks my mood was somewhat different, but that can be expected as you are changing the hormone levels in your body. Give it 2 months, and if you are still unhappy, then stop. I'm about to order my first prescription after using the 2 free sample packs."

For Birth Control "I used to be on BC for 12 years, stopped, and now, 2 years later, I am back on it for reducing the chance of getting cysts. My doctor chose Taytulla for me - huge mistake. I am assuming they have drug reps who are pushing Taytulla because he gave me a 3-month free sample and told me if I liked it to just call in after the 3 months to get a prescription. He did warn me if I started to get sad to stop taking it and recommended B-6 if I started to get bitchy. So, I started Taytulla, and literally within 3 days, I was already getting sad all the time for really no reason, and it was completely throwing me off. I would take it in the morning, and by nighttime, my hormones were everywhere, my mood swings just didn't make sense, and I was an emotional wreck. Taytulla does indeed work for your period and cycle and all of that, but it's not worth everything else that comes with it. I do not recommend this birth control."

For Birth Control "I kept switching BC pills because I always had negative side effects like constant bleeding, weight gain, acne, mood swings, etc. I’ve been taking Taytulla for almost a year now, and it’s great. I have monthly periods that only last 2-3 days and are VERY light. The only side effects for me are tender, larger breasts (which I don’t mind) and a slight hormone belly."
