For Birth Control "I didn’t experience one good thing with this medicine. I have never had a problem with acne until I started this pill. It was uncontrollable. I gained 11 pounds in 3 months, even with being extra cautious with what I was eating. I slowly started slipping into depression and having really bad anxiety attacks. I was extremely nauseated at the beginning. My heart rate was always extremely fast. I cried ALL the time. There is not a single good thing about this pill!"

For Birth Control "This is the worst medication. It made my life a living hell. I had two periods a week. Gained 20 pounds. My acne is terrible, my cramps are terrible, and my anxiety is so much worse because of it. DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICATION. Worst thing that has ever happened to me."

For Birth Control "In the last 3 months, while taking this pill, I have gained weight (my mom keeps asking me why I look pregnant...I'm also 21 years old), my acne came back after years of clear skin, my depression and anxiety exploded out of nowhere (my therapist hasn't seen me in months because I was doing so well), I am overly emotional and cry for hours over nothing (and my doctor wanted me to go on this pill to reduce this, whoops), and the comments on this page make so much sense to why this is happening to me. It sounds like half of the people on this pill do really well or REALLY badly. When I told my doctor about my mood swings, she told me to try another pill, which gave me an allergic reaction and, even after the steroid shot, I'm still in a constant wave of slight discomfort. It might be from this pill, not too sure. I am getting off this pill at the end of my cycle, and I'll either try something new or not go on at all because I am sick of this constant battle with myself."

For Birth Control "I started Taytulla during the last few days of December 2016. I had no problems-no fatigue, no stomach ache, no headaches, just basically nothing out of the ordinary. Within the first couple of months, I had mild spotting, and the side effects of my period did not go away. I still had terrible cramps, stomach bloating, and my acne actually seemed to get worse as the months went on. Six months later, I am seeing no difference in anything EXCEPT! My period does come at the right time at the end of my packet every month. The real issue? EXPENSIVE! With insurance only covering part of the cost (original price is almost $200, it costs $80 a month. Who has that kind of money?)"

For Birth Control "I have PCOS, and I struggled a lot with weight. Since taking the pill, I've lost at least 15 pounds within the 3 months of taking it. However, the acne is the worst, painful ones I've ever experienced. Large, multiple deep cystic acne. I guess I'll deal since the weight loss is a positive..."

For Birth Control "I was on Taytulla for about three or four months. During the time I was on it, my regular period got longer by about three days, and I started having a period every twice a month, additionally, they occurred at different times each month. I had awful mood swings, and my skin broke out terribly. This birth control was so awful for me that I stopped taking it altogether. However, I have a friend that takes it, and they've had no bad side effects."

For Birth Control "This is the worst birth control I've ever been on! My acne is terrible, and I've gained 10 lbs since first taking it on December 1, and it's only January 12. I have had terrible anxiety and some bouts with depressing thoughts! I got on to stop my bleeding, but it's only increased! My boobs hurt, and I'm done taking it! I got my tubes tied 3 years ago, it's highly ineffective for me!"

For Birth Control "My hormones are whacked, and trying to find the perfect pill is like looking for a gold pot at the end of a rainbow for me. This not only gave me 2 weeks of period symptoms and cramps, but the acne is unbelievable. Cystic acne at that! Didn't work for me at all."

For Birth Control "Our insurance carrier stopped covering the brand we usually have, so I have to change pills. That said, this pill worked for preventing pregnancy (awesome!), but did have some side effects. 1. Breast size increase—about 1 1/2 cup size. 2. I am pretty slim and gained about 5-7 extra pounds in hips/bum/tummy in 6 months. 3. Moodiness—now I have read about others' depression and anxiety issues and often wonder if maybe they were present before in the person, etc. I was not, but just felt way more triggered by things, if that makes sense. 4. Hormonal acne really bad around the 6th-7th pack. Huge bummer... ready to switch at this point. Would I take it again? Probably not. There are many pills out there to try if one isn't the best for you. Give it time and listen to your body."

For Birth Control "Taytulla was the first birth control I tried, and I've been very pleased with the results after a year of taking it! I was expecting the typical birth control symptoms (bloating, spotting, acne, etc.), but the only thing that I've noticed is that I tend to get emotional the week before I start my period (I blame PMS). Prior to starting Taytulla, I had very bad cramping on the first two days of my period... like really bad... but now that's completely gone and my periods are virtually gone to the point that I only wear a panty liner. Definitely going to stick with it!"

For Birth Control "I was on this pill for two months. By the end of it, I couldn't stand it anymore. I also felt a lot of anxiety and was very irritable. I also noticed a huge decline in sex drive and acne increased a lot. I found myself getting irritated for no reason a lot of the time. I am very happy I stopped taking it."

For Birth Control "I kept switching BC pills because I always had negative side effects like constant bleeding, weight gain, acne, mood swings, etc. I’ve been taking Taytulla for almost a year now, and it’s great. I have monthly periods that only last 2-3 days and are VERY light. The only side effects for me are tender, larger breasts (which I don’t mind) and a slight hormone belly."

For Birth Control "So, I was perimenopausal-heavy and irregular periods, painful ovulation, anxiety, mood swings, depression, acne, etc. I started a low-dose birth control to try and regulate my system. I take Taytulla continuously and don't break for the 'period.' Before Taytulla, I was on LoLoestrin, then Microgestin. I like the inactive ingredients in Taytulla. LoLoestrin had too low estrogen for me (10 mcg) and dried me out horribly. My moods and energy are better. It took my body three months to adjust. Sex drive good. No weight gain. My breasts increased one cup, and I had to buy new bras-I don't really like this side effect. I am now DD. My anxiety is probably the same."

For Birth Control "I've only been taking Taytulla for two weeks. I do have depression, but Taytulla has intensified it tremendously, as well as made me super emotional. My skin is always clear except for the week before my period, but ever since I've been taking Taytulla, my skin is COMPLETELY broken out. I was put on the pill because I am extremely anemic, and my periods usually last 9-14 days. The pill did reduce the time I am on my period for, but that's it."

For Birth Control "This was my first time on birth control, and I had an awful experience. My acne came back, and I had awful, awful mood swings. Also, my migraines got worse when I just fixed them. Another thing, I gained 5 pounds in a month from this. Highly don’t recommend!!"

For Birth Control "I have been on several birth control pills as well as Depo, and Taytulla is the best! I’ve been on it for about 7 months now. No breakthrough bleeding, weight gain, and super light periods that only last a day or two. I previously suffered from intense cramping, mood swings, weight gain, and acne, but not with this birth control. There’s definitely breast tenderness and growth, but I’m okay with that. Not every birth control is for everyone but definitely worth a try."

For Birth Control "When I first started taking this pill, I was on my period for 19ish days. I’ve always had a small amount of acne, but once I started Taytulla, it seemed as if I got a new pimple daily. I kept taking this pill for 2 months to see if it would regulate, but the same thing happened in the second month. I had another friend try this pill after I did, and the same thing happened to her. I switched to Ortho-Tri-Cyclen after two months on Taytulla, and my period is under control as well as my acne. I do not recommend this pill to anyone."

For Birth Control "In the beginning, I had terrible migraines, breast pain, and depression for about 1 week. I was ready to give up, but I decided to give it a try. So glad I did, everything regulated, and now I feel great. Sex drive is kinda low, but no acne. Also, insurance covered it, no copay! Give it a try!"

For Birth Control "I got switched to this pill from an extended cycle pill when I visited a new doctor. I have tried every other pill, and the extended cycle pill was really the only one that worked for me, and I informed my doctor of this. He recommended for me to try this brand, so I did. I'm on my second week of this pill, and no joke, I got 40 new pimples from starting this pill! My skin has never EVER been this bad, and my whole forehead is covered in breakouts. I don't even want to leave the house with how bad my skin is, and I've gained 10 pounds too. I have zero sex drive now too. I had beautiful skin while on my other pill, and I'm going back to it and not even going to finish the pack. I can't do another day of migraines."

For Birth Control "I was afraid to go on this medication after reading the side effects, but I’m glad I did. I have cystic acne, and within the first months, I started seeing results that my acne was improving. I still get some pimples, but they are smaller and don’t hurt as bad. My period was only 3 days long with little to no cramps, which is amazing! Before, because I was getting my period for 8 days, I would cry myself to sleep because of the pain. Birth control pills affect everyone differently, but you should definitely give this pill a try for at least 3 months. I have had no weight gain or change in appetite with this pill. Very happy so far!"

For Birth Control "This is the worst pill I have ever taken in my entire life. What happened was the following: I bled for about a month... not normal bleeding, but dark brown spotting. When it was time to get my period, I was incredibly confused because it only lasted one day, and my period usually lasts 5 days. I got the worst anxiety and depression, to the point I would argue and cry for no reason. I’m still suffering from the anxiety. One day I didn’t take it at 12 pm, the usual time I would take it, I took it two hours later... and bang! The dark brown spotting came back. I was on this pill for a month, and I couldn’t take it much longer. Not only did it make me bleed for a month, make me anxious and depressed, ruin my life, but it also gave me pimples, and I’ve never suffered from acne. Now that I’m off it, the anxiety has taken a while to go away, and my new period is super light and way too painful."

For Birth Control "I have been on Taytulla for about 2 weeks. I had Nexplanon, which I loved but caused ovarian cysts, so I had to get it removed. Since getting Nexplanon removed, I haven't had a period, so they put me on Taytulla to try and get my body back into the rhythm of things. Ever since taking this BC, I have had headaches, extreme nausea, double vision, depression, anxiety, terrible cramps, and I got a yeast infection, which turned into a bacterial infection, I am breaking out like crazy. I called my OB today to see if they couldn't send in another birth control to my pharmacy. They told me basically to suck it up, and after 3 MONTHS, the side effects would diminish. Needless to say, I quit taking it 2 days ago and still have side effects, please take with caution!"

For Birth Control "I had an ablation about 6 years ago, and my periods stopped but still had cramping. Cramps became so bad that I ended up in the ER on several occasions. The doctor suggested birth control, and I tried Taytulla. Horrible experience. Acne (my skin was clear before), severe mood swings and uncontrollable crying, heart racing, headaches, incredibly low sex drive, and just a general feeling of not caring about anything. I gave it a try for 5 months. Switched, and it has been life-changing, cheaper, effective, and I actually want to be intimate again. Only positive thing I would say about this is it did stop the cramps. Everyone's different, but this was a terrible experience for me, and I'm so happy I switched."

For Birth Control "I’ve been on this drug for about 2 months. I am finishing up this pill pack and then getting off of it. The first week I took it, I was constantly nauseous and also very emotional and irritable. That started to lessen over the weeks until I took the second pack and the same thing happened. I am on my last week of the second pack and the nausea is back in full force. There are several foods I can no longer stomach. I also have gotten very bloated, have painful pimples from this medication, and have a lot of vaginal dryness, which is very uncomfortable and makes intercourse painful. As someone who has suffered from depression for most of my life, I have begun to feel sad and tired for no reason. I am constantly hungry and nauseated at the same time. While the pill seems to be doing its main job of preventing pregnancy and I understand it takes the body time to adjust, this has just been way too much for my body. I cannot wait to get off this and feel like myself again."
