For Birth Control "I really like this pill. I'm 21 and been on it since I was 19. I haven't experienced any weight gain, nausea, discomfort, mood swings, or acne. And periods are a breeze! Mine lasts for 2 days and is so light! My skin actually cleared up since I've been on it, and I have even lost weight. (This was due to a change in diet, not the actual pill. I just wanted to show that it's possible to still lose weight on this pill.) I also have not lost my sex drive AT ALL. When I'm with the right person, I'm always in the mood. And yeah, obviously, each pill will affect everyone differently, so choose one that is right for you!"

For Birth Control "I've been on Microgestin Fe 1/20 for a month and a half. The first month was hell, I got really depressed and broke out with acne on my face, so I wanted to switch. However, I'm still not pregnant, so that's really good. My period has regulated, which is awesome, it got irregular from being on the depo shot. My breasts haven't grown any larger, like many of you are reporting. I would recommend this birth control if you don't get depressed easily. I haven't gained any weight, only bad mood swings, acne, and cravings. I really like this birth control, and my doctor recommended being on it for 6 months so that my body can get completely used to it."

For Birth Control "I am 19 and weigh approximately 112-117 lbs. Doctor changed from Microgestin FE 1.5/30 to 1/20 because of weight loss experienced due to diet change (can't eat well in the GA summer heat >.>) anyway. I began spotting on day 2, and by day 5, I was having a period. I decided to wait another week before calling my doctor, and the bleeding was consistent with a 'normal' period. I believe it was too light for me. I was also a bit emotional, crying jags over the silliest of things. Did not improve acne. Hope this helps."

For Birth Control "I've been on Microgestin Fe 1/20 for a little over a year now. The first few weeks of taking it, I had horrible nausea, but after that, it worked great. I do notice that I become more emotional over things sometimes (angry without reason, sad because of nothing). My periods are very light and last for about 4-5 days, although this is the first month where my period has come for just one day. I didn't have acne or cramps before, and I still don't get them. My breasts also increased a size. I particularly enjoy this birth control."

For Birth Control "I switched to this pill about five months ago because my insurance no longer covered Minastrin. Although my periods are very light with no cramps, I don't recommend this pill at all. I am very active and work out almost every day. I have gained a solid 8 pounds from this pill (I believe it is mostly water retention and maybe some fat). I am extremely emotional on it and even have chest cramps. Not to mention my acne has gotten worse. This pill is awful! So many other brands out there that will do much better without these side effects."

For Birth Control "I really like this birth control because it's a very low dosage. For everyone who says it makes them feel sick, take it at night! I had the same problem and take it at night, typically between 8:30-11 pm, and I don't feel sick. My skin has fewer breakouts. I still get the occasional pimple or two. I haven't had any mood swings, no problems with libido, my emotions feel more balanced, and I don't have PMS. I do get bloated for a few days in the middle of the cycle. It's my 5th month on them. And when I do get my period, my cramps are nonexistent. I used to have the curl-up-in-a-ball-and-cry cramps, but they've been nonexistent with these pills. There's also a lot less blood loss. I'm also a regular exerciser and have no issues there either."

For Birth Control "So I started this birth control a little under 2 months ago. I'm 18 years old and was previously on Generess Fe until my insurance didn't cover it anymore. I've noticed my boobs have started to grow more, which is a plus. But I am nauseous all the time. Like I feel disgustingly sick. Also, I have insane sugar cravings and really bad mood swings. I haven't had a period on this yet, most likely because my body is still adjusting. This birth control is effective considering I'm not pregnant! I'm gonna stick with this for a while longer and see if the nausea has calmed down or gone away."

For Birth Control "Reading some reviews from other sites had me so nervous! But I'm here to say, this pill has been God sent! My only complaint may be that it made me a bit more emotional. My periods last 4 days and are light! No boob growth, but my skin has been clearing up! Love it!"

For Birth Control "This birth control made me a different person. Uncontrollable mood swings, thoughts of self-harm, depression, I could go on. Be cautious if you begin Microgestin, this birth control has by far the most extreme side effects out of any pill that I have taken."

For Birth Control "I have been on Microgestin for over two years now, and have had absolutely no problems with it. My period always comes at the exact time every month. I used to have bad breakouts from time to time, but my skin is perfectly clear now. The only thing I have noticed is mood swings and increased sex drive. Overall, I am very pleased with this pill."

For Birth Control "By reading the reviews, I was shocked by all of the negative comments and terrible side effects. I've been on this pill for two months, and I am loving it. I was on Ortho Tri-Cyclen before, and that was terrible. I got off of it due to how bad my mood swings were. Ever since I've been on this pill, I haven't had any weight gain, my face is clear (every once in a while, I'll get pimples on my face and breast), but I think that is because I live a very active lifestyle. My moods have been the same. The only difference that I experienced was my sex drive, it seemed to have decreased a bit, but nothing major."

For Polycystic Ovary Syndrome "Not a fan of this pill. Throughout my teenage years and twenties, I took either Ortho Tri-Cyclen or Yasmin. After the birth of my second son, my doctor switched me to Microgestin as I was searching for a lower dose option. Over the past several months on this pill, I have begun to experience acne, breakthrough bleeding, mood swings, and, just recently, intense cramping and lower back pain. The pain was so out of place that I requested an ultrasound and was diagnosed with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome. While I certainly don't believe that Microgestin caused me to develop PCOS, I do believe that it has done a very poor job in controlling the symptoms and has left me with multiple, undesirable side effects. I will be going back to Ortho Tri-Cyclen."

For Birth Control "This is the worst birth control I've ever been on. I asked my doc for Loestrin 24 since it's worked for me perfectly in the past, but this generic Microgestin was so, so bad for me. Only 7 days in, I have horrid acne. Migraines every day, all day. My depression has gone from mild to severe. I'm fatigued, mood swings, on day 7 of bright red bleeding with no end in sight. I'm not taking any more of this medicine. I do not recommend."

For Birth Control "I absolutely love this birth control. I started out on this pill, but when I moved away for college, I had to change pharmacies and switch birth control brands twice... worst two months on birth control. Now that I'm back on this pill, my skin is clearing up again, and I don't have mood swings or feel down anymore."

For Birth Control "Was prescribed this form of birth control for the horrendous period cramps I've struggled with since first starting my periods back when I was 11. It has always been a major issue, no solutions were able to be found regardless of all the 'natural' means I had tried. Very effective in eliminating cramps and lessening the flow, I am not left only to lay in bed in agony. I often forget that I'm having my period now. No real side effects besides muscle cramps at times and very sore breasts off and on, along with mood swings, but it has been very worth it. I wish I had gotten on these pills sooner, the quality of life is much better. Highly recommend trying them, it has been life changing."

For Birth Control "I've only been on Microgestin Fe 1/20 for like 2 weeks now. I love it. I started the first day of my cycle, very skeptical at first about birth control in general. But I started my cycle, was two days longer than usual with extremely light bleeding the last two days, I guess you consider that breakthrough bleeding. Other than that, I have not experienced many side effects, which I am so glad about. Other than being very emotional, I'm already a ball of tears, so it kind of made me extra sad, but not too much. One day my feet were swollen... don't know if that's a side effect. But once again, nothing serious. I'm hoping my breasts do go up a size or two. Definitely recommend for first-time birth control."

For Birth Control "This drug worked at preventing pregnancy. So it does get some stars for that. It's my third month on it, and every single month I had breakthrough bleeding that began about the second week. I thought it was spotting at first, but then it was heavier and lasted until my actual period started with the sugar pills. I would also get bloated and have bad cramps beginning about the second week of the pill pack. No weight gain happened, and my sex drive stayed the same. But I was also very moody! Things that would normally make me just upset for a day would now bring me to tears and upset me for weeks. And my acne got worse, I would normally get pimples around the time of my period, but now I always have three or more pimples at a time that would scar."

For Birth Control "I took this method of birth control for about 8 months. I always skipped the sugar pills, so I didn't have my period. I only had spotting once while I was on this pill, and it lasted for about a day or two and was very light. I had no pregnancy scares and am sexually active with my boyfriend. So, everything was good in that department. But I did notice I was starting to have anxiety and freak out about every little thing. My boyfriend noticed as well, and the problem grew worse and worse. I felt depressed, and I was always holding in my terrible mood. I recently got off of the pill for this reason, and it's been 2 weeks and I feel a huge difference. Mood swings are gone. Does the job, but side effects depend on how your body reacts to the pill."

For Birth Control "I went from Lo Loestrin to Microgestin to Blisovi. I was on Lo Loestrin when I was 20, and I'm 24 now. I barely remember anything except it making me nauseous the first day. I switched to Microgestin at 21 due to new insurance. There was a transition period, but I've been on it for 3 years, and it reduced my acne and stopped my menstrual migraines and mood swings. I switched insurance again, and now I'm on Blisovi. It's only been a week, but I've already experienced my first mood swing and got two whopper breakouts. Currently, trying to get back on Microgestin because it really worked for my body, and I don't want to transition into another BC again."

For Birth Control "I have been taking this birth control pill since November 2010. Best pill yet. I've taken a few others. I even tried the Depo shot, and that's what caused my irregular period. I guess you stop bleeding after the 3rd shot, and each shot lasted for 3 months. Now I rely on pills to keep my cycle regular. Anyways, so that's why I say this pill is the best for me, everyone is different. I don't have mood swings anymore, don't break out, my sex drive actually increased, my libido is sky high, my boyfriend can't even keep up. But no growth in the breasts. Sometimes they get a little tender, not too crazy."

For Birth Control "I have been on this pill for 2 months now. I was getting the Depo shot before and was on that for 9 months, I had gained 40 pounds from it and wanted to switch fast! My doctor said I was sensitive to the hormones and recommended this for me. I haven't gained any weight with this, which is great, but on the other hand, my breasts, especially my nipples, are super tender most of the time, and they are also getting bigger, which isn't that great since I'm a D cup already. I am a little more emotional than usual, but it's not a big difference. No acne improvement or anything like that. In the first month, I had my period for one day, woke up the next morning, and it was gone! That was pretty weird. Overall, this pill is pretty good."

For Birth Control "I was prescribed this since they didn’t have Junel Fe at the time. I spoke with the pharmacist, and he confirmed it’s the same as that. I took it for 1 month, and it’s probably the worst birth control I have ever tried. I had mood swings, and it made me feel so depressed. I had constant bloating, and I was throwing up every other day. I ended up finishing the month of it, and right now I’m no longer taking any birth control since I’m just trying to detoxify from the pill. I stopped it in December, and now it’s April, and I still have spotting every day and heavy periods. All bodies are different, but this one was not the one for me."

For Birth Control "I started on this birth control when I was 19 years old. I am now 22 and have gained 24 lbs. This pill makes me tired and gave me the worst mood swings. I was a very active person, but I don't feel like doing anything while on this pill. But this pill did give me a regular period, no headaches, no aches."

For Birth Control "I was put on this after I had my 2nd son 3 years ago, and this pill started off great. The first 8 months were totally fine with this pill, it even stopped my periods, which at first made me stressed, but then I got used to it. As soon as the 8th month went by, the bad side effects kicked in. I put on 20 lbs, started breaking out, mood swings and PMDD were in full force. I started getting weekly migraines that literally made me bedridden."
