For Birth Control "Obviously, some of these symptoms could be related to other issues… but I firmly believe this pill is ruining my life. I’ve been on it for over a year now, and I have never in my life been more depressed, anxious, irritated, or exhausted. My skin has been so dry (and breaking out). I’ve gained a TON of weight. I have zero sex drive. I won’t get my period for 4 months, and then randomly I’ll get the worst one of my life that lasts 10 days, and I’m practically bedridden, and I am tired ALL THE TIME. My boyfriend literally calls me “sleepy bish” because I’m always so tired and moody and mean for NO REASON. I know everyone is different, but I felt I had to share in hopes it saves other ladies out there from the same miserable experience I had :("

For Birth Control "I would like to start off by saying I have never written a review in my life, but I had the worst experience with this birth control, and I feel like I need to warn other people. I was previously on Sprintec for about 2 years and LOVED it, except for the fact that it made me a little dry down there. I talked to my doctor and decided to switch, and she put me on Hailey 24 Fe. I’m not sure what happened, and I may sound crazy for saying this, but it quite literally made me lose my mind. I’ve always experienced some form of anxiety in certain situations, but never in my life has it been as bad as it was while I was taking this medication. It would last all day, every day, and it got to the point where nothing felt real. I tried to stay on it to let my body adjust and stuck with it for about 4 months, but I eventually couldn’t deal with it anymore and completely stopped birth control altogether. It also affected my periods, and it made me get about 3 a month."

For Birth Control "I started this medication 3 months ago. My doc switched me from a BCP I’ve been on for years with absolutely no issues. I was trying to be an easy patient, so I went along with the switch. I’ve had unbearable cramps since the first pill I took, to the point where they’re debilitating. I’ve also had insane mood swings and constant anxiety. I’ve had issues like this years ago, but the first 2 weeks on the meds, I was an absolute nightmare to everyone around me, and I still don’t like how I am. I’ve had to reach out to my other doc for anxiety medications because this drug has set me so far back. I’m switching back to my old BCP ASAP!"

For Birth Control "I was originally on Junel Fe until my insurance switched me to Amethia, which I had spotting on for over a year, until I was able to get switched to Hailey… unfortunately, this pill is the worst I’ve ever been on. I’ve bled constantly since I started it, almost to the point of it being a full period, which I use birth control to skip because I have endometriosis, so, not ideal. I already struggle with mental health, but I have never felt this bad on any other pill, the anxiety is constant, I have frequent stomachaches from my nerves, I don’t feel in control of myself, and I keep having random crying fits, but I’m completely numb. My sex drive is nonexistent, and that’s never been an issue before. Thankfully, I haven’t been breaking out, as I’ve seen others mention, but that’s about the only upside. Obviously, everyone will have a different reaction to medication, but I only have negative things to say about this one and can’t recommend it at all."

For Birth Control "I have been on birth control for 10 years, and in the 3 months I have been on Hailey, I am considering going off it altogether if this is my only option. I didn't notice at first, as my prescription was changed, and by looking at it, assumed it was the same. I have been heavily bloated for weeks and am honestly concerned about my mental state. As a fairly mentally stable person, I can say that this pill has caused me so much anxiety and unexplained mood swings that I was genuinely concerned for my health before I made the connection. I would not recommend this to anyone."

For Birth Control "Well, on Hailey 24 Fe, my boobs look great, and I was getting my periods. I had hopped off Lo Loestrin Fe because I was not getting my periods (I want that birth control back, I will take no periods compared to this killing machine). My doc put me on Hailey 24 Fe, and at first, it seemed great. I am 4 months in, and my anxiety is way out of whack, and even depression/sadness has started. Given yes, I am in nursing school, which doesn't help, but this is unreal. I have no sex drive anymore, and my poor boyfriend is the one that I take my mood swings and anxiety attacks out on. After month 3, I stopped getting periods, and I am 2 weeks into month 4. I have gotten so much worse since that missed period, and all these symptoms are completely out of character for me. No, I am not pregnant, I checked 3 times because I was getting so paranoid, but dang, this birth control really did me in. I am also writing this review at 4 a.m. because I never sleep anymore while on it."

For Birth Control "I'll list the positives first because there are few. My skin looks great, and I haven't gotten pregnant. Unlike other birth control pills I have tried, Hailey doesn't make my breasts grow or become tender and sore around my period, which is actually really nice. Additionally, my period is short and light, with less painful cramps. HOWEVER, I have become extremely anxious, restless, and I noticed within the first 2 months of switching (previously on Estarylla) that my heart would race, and I would become breathless for no reason. I constantly feel emotionally overwhelmed and sensitive, crying over little things that I shouldn't really be crying over. Now, as I near the 6-month mark of use, I have become incredibly nauseous. I even took a pregnancy test because I was convinced that this nausea was a pregnancy symptom because even the smell of certain foods has started to make me gag, and the constant stomach churning is unbearable. Still on the search for a pill that will work for me."

For Birth Control "I started taking this pill 4 months ago. The only positive side effects I have noticed are that it helped my period cramps and flow, and I have gained little to no weight. Other than that, it made my acne horrible, gave me mood swings, headaches, and bad anxiety. I have gone my whole life having little to no acne, but since I’ve started the pill, acne is all I’ve been experiencing. I have taken other birth controls before and had no problem with this. My acne has been horrible since I’ve started taking these pills and has yet to go away. My acne has surrounded my chin, lip area, nose, and my cheeks. I have done proper skin care, drank water, and ate healthy, but nothing works."

For Birth Control "I admit I haven’t been using this birth control long, but the beginning side effects are already severely negative. As a genderqueer person who’s struggled with mental health before, I was initially quite nervous, and within a few hours of the first pill, I felt horrible. With each pill I take, I feel stuck in a worsening cycle of heightened depression and anxiety (which takes a physical toll as well, like stomachaches). I do not feel in control of my emotions, and I’ve felt numb to my emotions at times as well. I have never felt this bad in my life, I know everyone has a different reaction, but I personally do not recommend this birth control."

For Birth Control "I was on Nexplanon for years and was waiting on insurance to approve my new one, so I started this. The first month started well. I gained a bit of weight but was feeling better than the troubles I was having with the implant at the end (I had been informed my implant lasted longer than it actually did by a past doctor, and it was expiring and causing symptoms from expiration). Around the third week, I started getting horrible stomach problems, migraines, mood swings, and anxiety. I gained 30 lbs in 3 months, even after I got off of it, I continued to gain, and to this day I still have a sensitive stomach, am now on medication for anxiety because it messed my mental health up so bad. I’m finally leveling out 6 months later and beginning to lose the stubborn weight I gained on it. This was the worst experience of my life, and I’m happy to be back on my Nexplanon, but it’s taken a long time for me to even get to my “normal” on Nexplanon, and I’m not there yet. I didn’t get pregnant on it."

For Birth Control "This is making me extremely moody. I am also having random nausea and lightheadedness that I would not usually have. I am having bumps on my forehead (like, the hormonal acne underneath your skin). I am breaking out all over my face, and it's ruining my self-confidence and making me feel like crap. Not to mention that it has increased my anxiety and made me have trouble with digestion. I haven’t been taking it for long. So, I will need to keep doing this for at least a month. But one more underneath-the-skin bump and I’m done. It’s not worth it. I did not want to use this, I was forced into getting on birth control."

For Birth Control "I really did not personally like this birth control for myself. I would take it at the same time every single day and was constantly getting 2 periods a month. Had extreme anxiety all of the time, which I am still adjusting to and now in therapy because of it. I always had the appetite of a linebacker and was eating so much food on it. My period was very short and light, but it would come twice a month, so my cycle was really unbalanced and all over the place. I never got pregnant, so that was really the only good part about it. Everybody will react differently to birth control, so if it works for you, then that’s great, but it was horrible for me."
