"Been on Cyclaflem 1/35 for 2 months and absolutely loving it! No nasty side effects, definitely a bit more emotional but nothing outrageous. Fun colored pills: pink active pills and blue placebo pills, I know that has nothing to do with the effectiveness of the pill but it surely helps me remember to take it. I can take it on a completely empty stomach and be ok. No spotting when skipping periods. Great so far!"

"My doctor told me to take this birth control and I been taking it for four days now, and I feel horrible, nausea, headaches and I feel weak and I always sleep, I just want to know if it gets better or if any of you ladies went through this."

"I have been on this birth control for one cycle. After reading some of the reviews on this type and similar birth controls I was a bit apprehensive to start. Im giving this birth control a 9 out of 10 as I have not been on it long enough for a 10. So far I love this birth control! My side effects have been so minimal its like Im not even on birth control! I have experienced mild headaches here and there and some nausea but other than that ive been feeling great! I got my period on cue on the third day of the inactive pills and I had no idea it was coming because I had zero pms! My period was very light and I barely had any cramping! I had unprotected sex the first month and obviously didn't get pregnant so I'm very pleased! Highly recommend"

"I've just completed my first 3 months and it's great so far. My doctor put me on this to regulate my horrendous periods and start me on birth control. She had put my sister on it for the same reasons. Neither of us has experienced any major side effects. The only difference I've noticed is that my breast are slightly more tender when my cycle is about to start but I'll rather deal with that than the heavy flow and cramps that had me bedridden for a whole week."

"I got really anxious and broke out when I was taking this birth control. Another weird side effect was after two months I kept spotting every day and it changed the color of my blood. Even when it was my normal period it was always a really dark brown color. I didn't like bleeding every day so I stopped taking the pill. Good for not getting me pregnant but bad for everything else haha."

"I had used Alyacen 1/35 for a while, but for some reason I started getting the generic version of it which was Cyclafem. A week after I started taking it, I started feeling more on-edge and anxious, along with nauseous and lightheaded with an overall crappy and irritable mood. I would cry for no reason and I would constantly feel that fight-or-flight sensation with my whole body being tense all the time. It was not pleasant, so I told my doctor to prescribe me explicitly Alyacen. After going back on my regular one, I felt so much better and calmer. These pills made me feel crazy."

"This is he 4th month I have been taking it and so far in the birth control aspect of it has been great. Used to have very heavy periods and extreme cramping, now I hardly notice I'm on my period. It usually comes about the 3rd day of the placebo pill cycle and last 2-3 days. Have had no mood swings, no cramping, no weight gain (which is my biggest concern) and no spotting. The reason I gave it a 7 instead of a 10 is because I have been having some major acne around my chin and jaw as a side effect. Even with washing my face using acne control products it hasn't seemed to help."

"I've used Cyclamen continuously nearing on two years. In the very beginning there was spotting and irregularity for a couple months, but given time, everything evens out. Due to skipping the inactive week, I never ever have a period or bleeding (so nice!), and if anything, my face has gotten clearer. I have gained a little weight, especially in my chest area, but I also like to eat with a sedentary lifestyle - so that could be a big contributing factor to the few extra lbs."

"I was taking a different brand of birth control (same dose of hormones), when my pharmacist refilled it with Cyclafem. Within days, I was having migraines and I was bloated, nauseous, and, scariest of all, deeply depressed. Because I had gotten a 3-month supply, I couldn't go back to my old brand without going to the doc, getting a new script, and paying out of pocket. The side effects of Cyclafem were so bad that, after 5 weeks, that's what I did."

"Absolutely horrible! Started this and after a month I started having panic attacks and was extremely depressed. Stopped taking it 2 weeks ago and I’m just now starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel!"

"I was on these birth control pills for 6 years. It did its job, which was to keep me on a regular menstrual period and avoid getting pregnant, that was the plus. The big minus was that every month on the second day of my period I would get these huge migraines that at one point almost made me vomit and sure made me cry. I'm a college student, so I'd constantly check the calendar to see when the placebos began cause I did not want to be miserable in class and wanted to be able to learn. There were times I had to miss class cause the migraines were horrible. I did not gain weight on these pills. However, I will say that it fluctuated within 10 pounds. My doctor just switched me to a mini pill to prevent the migraines, and this is my 2nd week so far. All I can say about this pill is that I had a love/hate relationship with it. Loved that I didn't get pregnant, acne or mood swings but absolutely hated the migraines."

"I was on Cyclafem for about three years and started having horrible cramps outside of the week of my period. It also made me extremely tired and gain weight. I just switched and I am feeling better so hopefully it stays like this."

"Pharmacy filled Cyclafem for me after I’d been taking Alycen for years. They put a sticker on the box saying that it was the same medication that I’d been taking, so I assumed that the brand name had changed and started using the new pack. Less than a full week in and I’ve been feeling nauseous with diarrhea, especially at night (I take the pills at bedtime). My skin is broken out like it gets during my period, only this is the week after my period and first week of the hormone. I’ve been more anxious as well since I started this medication. I know the hormones are supposed to be the same, but I’m definitely not tolerating it in the same way! I called the doctor and pharmacy to request that I go back on the other pill."

"I started taking Cyclafem on day 1 of my cycle about a month ago. Almost a whole month later, I’m still bleeding. I gained 7 pounds, and my boobs got bigger, which I expected, but I’ve been bleeding for over 20 days, I had a migraine experience that led me throw up breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and waves of cramps that would come and go. My doctor switched me to Loestrin 24 and have me meds to stop the bleeding. We’ll see how well this goes."

"So far good, I just hate when I get to the second row I experience severe migraines... I have gained a little weight only a few pounds. Periods are light with a little cramp here and there but besides that it’s very effective, been on it for 6 months with unprotected sex and haven’t got pregnant yet."

"I started this pill two weeks ago. I was having bleeding and spotting problems, so they told me this would help. It stopped the bleeding and spotting. As soon as I started taking it, my face broke out. These pimples are massive! Hybrids! I was hoping I was just adjusting to the hormone so hopefully it will stop. I haven’t used it as a contraceptive Because my doctor recommend I wait an entire month! She said two weeks is standard but wait 4 weeks to be safe? I also experience nausea at night. I wake up out of my sleep because I’m so dizzy and nauseous. Breasts are extremely tender. Maybe it’s ovulation"

"I have been on this pill for about 2 years now, and about 6 months ago the cramps have started to get really bad. To the point where sitting and standing have become unbearable. Laying was the only way I could handle them. I gained about 10 pounds being on this pill. The good thing about it is that it makes the period light, but it also makes it heavy for about 1 day out of the cycle."

"Was on this for a long time. Made me moody a lot of the time. Eventually gave me hives and I became allergic to many different birth control pills after that."
