"My skin was COMPLETELY clear and I had very nice skin that I worked very hard for before taking this. I was given Blisovi because my normal birth control was out of stock. I have only been on it 2 weeks and I have HORRIBLE breakouts all over my cheeks, some on forehead. Deep cystic acne and red bumpy acne. I had to go to the dermatologist because at first I couldn't figure out what could possibly be causing this. It came out of nowhere. Nothing else has changed in my life for me to break out this bad - diet, exercise, etc is the same. I hate that I have to get this acne cleared up now all because of something I only took for 2 weeks. Be aware that it can really change your skin!!"

"I've been on Blisovi for 4 months after previously taking a different pill for 3.5 years. I switched because my old pill was not strong enough hormonally and I would have periods that lasted over 3 months while taking that pill (no exaggeration). While Blisovi finally stopped my constant break-through bleeding, it has given me more side effects than anything I've ever taken before. The biggest issue is that I am allergic and began getting quarter-sized hives all over my body that have not gone away until I stopped the medication. My skin became extremely oily and now I have more acne than I did before starting birth control 3 years ago. I have awful mood swings and my anxiety is the worst it has been in 4 years. I had none of these problems on my old birth control. I now have to search for a THIRD birth control pill because the side effects of Blisovi are almost as bad as my vomit-inducing 10 day period that I get without BC."

"I have been on this medication for two weeks now. I have experienced a lot of positive results. My skin did start with a few break outs but they cleared up within a couple of days. My skin is now extremely clear. I have not experienced spotting or cramping before my period. I was on Microgestin Fe 1.5/30 prior to blisovi and after a 1 year hiatus from birth control I decided to try LO LOESTRIN. It was terrible !! So I called my doctor to put me on micro again and when I got to the pharmacy they gave me blisovi. So far it’s great!"

"Being on this pill has skyrocketed my depression and anxiety to the point where a lot of days are just unbearable. I didn’t have any issues with weight gain, but I did have horrible headaches and noticed a little unwanted body hair. I get pills work different for everyone but this one definitely didn’t work for me. So glad to be switching to a different pill"

"I appreciate everyone else's reviews of this medication, it validates me-where I thought I was alone. The pharmacy advised prior standard birth control was no longer available and it was "the same" and thus I was provided Blisovi. After 3 months, I've gone up 2 pants sizes and look pregnant with a distended belly! I have had abdominal cramping and terrible PMS. My flow used to last 2-3 days, it's up to 5 days on this terrible pill. I would not recommend anyone even trial with this medication. I gave it two stars since it does prevent pregnancy -- oh, my sex drive is lower, so that can impact pregnancy too."

"My doctor prescribed Blisovi due to the fibroids in my uterus I used this medication for 2 months and I got diagnosed with pulmonary embolism blood clot in my lungs, I got hospitalized for 2 days and now I’m on blood thinner. My life is miserable, I have shortness of breath, pain and severe headache"

"So I had to change my previous medication cause it made me bleed 2 months straight. Blisovi FE has been amazing 7-8 months and none of that! My periods are average to light now. I have not noticed any weight changes but my acne also sadly has not gotten any better or worse (except for period time). I'm still able to lose and keep weight off if I try! So don't be worried about that make sure you give your body time to adjust (my previous one I was on for 5 months when the bleeding started so I adjusted then to that! So it can always get better or worse just try to see :)"

"I was afraid I'd experience some of the adverse effects some of the reviewers on here have gone through but the ones I've had are definitely minor and manageable. During the first few months, I would randomly experience a bit of nausea in the middle of the night and sometimes immediately after waking up in the morning, which rarely happens now. I take this BC a few hours before bed and have never experienced nausea during the daytime. The only other difference I've noticed in the beginning was my emotions going from 0 to 100, which would end up with me crying for no reason (only happened about once a month?). I've had no changes in weight or acne amount (still kind of slim with little to no acne). Used to experience bad cramps and incredibly heavy periods and now no cramping and normal periods! Worth the minor side effects for me."

"Like many others, I was given Blisovi by my local pharmacy to replace another brand. On Blisovi, I couldn't stay awake, had no sex drive, my boobs were constantly sore and my head always pounding. I also was starting to get acne on my face and painful boils in my panty-line area. I took my blood pressure at a drug store and it was high. I purchased a BP monitor to keep track of my bp and it averaged 150/82, which is pretty bad. I stopped taking the birth control, began feeling better and all my bad symptoms were gone in a week, bp back to normal. I called my doctor and he ordered me Microgestion at my pharmacy. Never again will I use Blisovi; it was the worst birth control I've ever taken."

"I have been taking the Junel Fe and that one was perfect for me but I recently switched pharmacies and the pharmacy did not have Junel only Blisovi so I have it a try for two months almost on my third and it is terrible! I have mood swings that I just can't control. Acne is starting to appear in places I’ve never seen, and I’ve been really dehydrated not that water is bad but I drink more than the usual. I’m gonna switch back to Junel. I don’t recommend Blisovi to anybody."

"So this is the first oral contraceptive I’ve used, but I can honestly say that for the most part I would recommend it. Since being on this medication I have lost weight, experienced relief from the killer cramps I have before, protected myself from pregnancy, and have little to no period. I will say the downside is my PMS week. I feel very depressed sometimes and I break out, but it’s only during that week. Typically it’s around the chin area when I break out, so I know it’s definitely hormonal. For the most part, it’s not so bad!"

"Stay CLEAR of this birth control !!!! I first started this birth control 6 months ago in hopes to help with my heavy bleeding ( it did not help). I gained 30 pounds and my anxiety is through the rough! I am CONSTANTLY sick to my stomach sometimes even vomiting, horrible migraines , abdominal pain , and fatigue to the extreme ! No sleep is enough I ALWAYS feel tired. Do not take this birth control - your mental and physical health isn’t worth it."

"I was taking a different brand of birth control before Blisovi. That birth control had me on my period for about 2 and a half weeks and it drove me insane. My doctor then prescribed Blisovi and luckily it cause my period to stop. But ONLY FOR 1 AND A HALF DAYS. I’m am currently still bleeding. I’ve bern bleeding for almost a week. I log my periods, but for the past few days it would be weird. One day I’d be bleeding, the next day I wouldn’t. Last night I didn’t bleed at all, this morning I have sever cramps and major blood clots coming out."

"I've been on this birth control for three months now, I've noticed the first day of my period I have annoying headaches all day, I'm very moody everything angers me. I also noticed I have a lot of acne when I've never had a problem with acne before. My breast are so super sensitive. As for the periods they are light but the cramps still hurt pretty bad, and it worsen at night when I'm trying to sleep, probably going to switch to a new birth control."

"I am now on my second pack of blisovi and it has stopped my period already and my periods personally were so awful and sometimes unbearable. I was on taytulla which is a lower dose both control and it wasn’t doing any good and I switched to this one and sadly I’ve gained a little and anxiety is worse. Especially at night but it has helped with my period so I’m kinda 50/50 on recommending this pill! but it works differently for everyone !"

"I was having bleeding and cramping issues while on a low dose hormone pill. My doctor insisted it was because my hormones were not balanced and she switched me to this full hormone pill. Not only did my symptoms not go away but now I'm experiencing headaches, nausea, depression, suicidal ideations, GI problems, anxiety, constant bloating, rashes, weight gain, and massive mood swings. This is by far the worst birth control I've ever been on. I'm 36 and I've been through the patch, paragard, isobloom, Ortho tricyclone low along with a number of generic versions. I do not recommend this pill."

"I’ve gained 14 lbs in under two months since I started this medication. The weight gain increases even with significant diet restrictions that were not necessary prior to taking this medication. I have terrible moods and also I’ve started getting acne that also was not there before this medication. It may be wonderful for some women, but for me, it is terrible."

"I’ve been taking this birth control for a bit now now and I can already tell a difference in myself. I am an upbeat fun person and ever since taking this I feel sad, lonely, depressed. I feel like I’m always trying to reach out for comfort for something that’s not there. I honestly don’t know how to explain it. I don’t feel like myself. I feel like a completely different person. It’s almost like I’m having an out of body experience like I don’t feel like I’m me? I know everyone is different when it comes to things like this. Some people are fine but then you have people like me. I definitely would watch taking it and notice the signs before it gets too bad."

"The first day I started Blisovi Fe 1.5/30 my anxiety started skyrocketing. Every day I was on it for the week after that I had to make and large effort to ward off panic attacks and to manage my physical symptoms. My libido also decreased, likely in part because I was feeling so bad but also in part I think due to the hormones. This pill did not work for me. Since stopping it I feel like my normal self again."

"Love this birth control Blisovi Fe ! I keep an alarm on my phone to remind me every night. It helps us not get pregnant and I love that it also makes my periods not so bad and my skin clear! Loving the new packaging as well!!! It’s smaller and the sleeve is perfect!!"

"This birth control gave me no side effects at first. After about two months I got a yeast infection due to the hormones changing the habitat in my vagina. Since that first yeast infection sex has hurt and made me bleed every single time since. And every third week I seem to get a yeast infection. Need to switch ASAP I’m sick of vaginal itching and painful sex."

"I took this Blisovi Fe 1.5/30 pill for 11 days and had intense panic attacks, increased depression and super dark thoughts. I couldn't sleep and I barely ate or drank anything because my anxiety was so high. A family member had to call in sick to work on the last day I took it because they were afraid to leave me alone. Constant crying spells after the 6th day of taking the pill and also very intense rage that wasn't justified. I don't think it's a very good pill; I've been on a few and didn't experience anything like this. Another very bad side effect I didn't have on any other pills is my blood pressure went from high side of normal to level 2 hypertension. I don't know if that's from the medicine or from the constant panic I felt. Would not recommend."

"I asked my GYN to give me a low dose BC pill because my period cramps are the worst. I've been on this since July and honestly some things I've experienced are a decreased libido and my breast grew from a 38B to a 40C. I have intermittent vaginal aching. I don't know if me always wanting to snack is from the pill cause I have always been a foodie."

"Just recently started taking birth control for the first time. So far it hasn't been that bad. Little bloated, tenderness in the breast area, slightly nauseated at times but honestly nothing unbearable. It comes with the territory of having a menstrual cycle. Hopefully it works and unlike most people, don't have to try many to find one that works well. Best of wishes."
