For Birth Control "My doctor decided to put me on this pill because I was basically having 2 periods a month taking Beyaz. I honestly knew nothing much about Lo Lo before taking it, but my doctor told me she had high hopes giving me this pill. So far, I’m halfway through my second pack and haven’t had any negative symptoms. I suffer from anxiety and depression, and neither of those have gotten worse since I’ve been taking this pill. I’m also super petite and work out daily, so weight gain is always a concern for me, and if anything, I’ve lost a couple of pounds since I’ve been on this pill. I wanted to share my experience because I do see there are a lot of negative reviews, and I wanted to share my positive one. The only reason I didn’t give this pill 10 stars is because I haven’t gotten my period since taking it, and although I love not having one, I am sexually active, so it makes me a little nervous. But all in all, so far, so good. I’m 26 for reference."

For Birth Control "Never realized until I got off of Aurovela that it had caused my severe depression (which I never had before). It also caused me to intensely dislike my boyfriend. I had no sex drive, and sex actually felt like a chore and just made me angry. Do not take Aurovela, it will change your life in the worst way possible."

For Birth Control "I’ve been on this medication, Junel Fe 1/20, for about 3 months now. I haven’t had side effects except for breast tenderness before the placebo week. It made my period super light, and through the pack, I experience periodical brown discharge. Other than that, it’s great, I didn’t gain any weight, and my sex drive is normal."

For Birth Control "So I know a lot of people (myself included) rely on reviews when trying or purchasing new things. I was prescribed Junel Fe as my first BC ever and came on here to see how it made people feel. I'll be honest, reading people's negative reviews on this site terrified me. But then I remembered - most people leave reviews when they have had a negative experience with something. So I wanted to come and give an honest, positive review to put to ease the minds of anyone who may be doing research and becoming increasingly nervous. I've been on Junel Fe for 1 year now and have not felt a single symptom, it's like I'm not even taking anything. My period comes lightly on the second day of the final week of pills, like clockwork, which puts me at ease since before using this, my period used to come a week late or more often and made me nervous with my now fiancée, despite us using condoms. Literally, zero issues or complaints. And my insurance covers 100%. Don't let the negative reviews scare you."

For Birth Control "If you're here looking for reviews of this pill that your doctor gave you like I was almost a year ago, I would advise you not to read through them and just try it out yourself. I read these reviews and was terrified of this pill but, for me, it honestly has made no difference in my life besides not being pregnant. The first couple of weeks I felt a little bloated, had some heartburn, and breast tenderness but these symptoms were not by any means terrible and 100% went away. Other than those first 2-3 weeks, I have experienced nothing aside from a normal day-to-day life and highly recommend this pill! Everybody is different though, so seriously, don't scare yourself reading reviews and just try it out yourself :)"

For Birth Control "No side effects, very light periods. On my 3rd month, and no weight gain. Had a bit of a long period the first month, but since then, it's been perfect. The only gripe I have is that because it's so new, it's crazy expensive. $45 a month even with health insurance."

For Acne "I'm 20 years old and had always experienced severe cramps and bleeding for as long as I've had my period. I also suffered from severe acne. Since I've started Loestrin 24, I noticed dramatic changes in every aspect! - My periods are lighter (1-2 days) - MY SKIN IS FLAWLESS - I lost about 7 lbs! - Overall, I feel my hormones regulated and less moody. Loestrin 24 really turned my life around, and I couldn't be happier! I hope you all have the same experience with it."

For Birth Control "Into my second year on this and very pleased. The first two months adjusting were definitely a bit tough: nausea, headache, breast tenderness, bizarre acne. I stuck it out and very glad I did! After those two months, zero side effects. No period, no weight gain, nausea, cramps, or breast tenderness... Nothing! In fact, I'm 37 & I've lost 20 lbs while on it. And most importantly, it's been effective in preventing pregnancy!"

For Birth Control "I am taking Microgestin FE 1/20 for a month now. I took the first pill and then decided to just read up on it. I was scared out of my mind after reading reviews. I tried to calm myself down by saying that people usually only give reviews with a bad experience. Rarely do people seek these sites out to give a positive one. Nevertheless, I was scared. I thought I was going to gain weight, be an emotional crazy person, suffer from bad eyesight, etc. I was especially scared because I would take the pill at noon and at 5 pm every day I would feel nauseous. I changed my time to 5 pm, and hey, problem solved. I am usually in bed by the time the nausea would start. Other than that, no weight gain, no headaches, no loss of sexual interest, and no breast tenderness. Everyone is different, and their bodies react differently. I would say I am very satisfied with this birth control."

For Birth Control "So I’ve been using this for about 4 months, and it’s been really good for me and has helped me with my acne. I haven’t gained any weight, my periods are better. I definitely would recommend this one, but it may not be the best for you. But for me, it’s perfect. I haven’t gotten pregnant while being on it, and I do the pull-out method."

For Birth Control "I wanted to get on birth control to regulate my period, but please, please, PLEASE DO NOT TAKE THIS. I gained 30 pounds in a 3-month timespan because it caused my appetite to skyrocket. My appetite went back to normal after stopping it, thank goodness. I had my period for 20 days straight, broke my eczema out on my face really bad, acne everywhere, constant headaches, my mood was horrid, and I felt so exhausted 24/7. I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone. But again, everyone’s body is different, so it might work for you! But still, be wary."

For Birth Control "Horrible. Do not recommend. At all. Save yourself. Just started month 3, and it has been AWFUL. So glad I found this. I've had about every side effect but abnormal bleeding. Haven't been able to have sex for over a month because of vaginal dryness/inability to get wet/loss of interest (just ended month 2 yesterday). Sex was great until this pill! My side effects: major vaginal dryness (going on 3 months), no sex drive/interest/pleasure, breast tenderness/PAIN/enlargement, nausea, headache, bloating, fetal-position cramps, mental changes/mood swings, trouble concentrating, tired/weak ALL of the time, irritable, anxious, discouraged. I could go on. I was starting to question myself, my body, my mind, my relationship, felt like I just could NOT get better. I'm disappointed it took me so long to realize this was the only change. Good thing is I'm not pregnant, but hard to get pregnant when you can't have sex."

"This is my first birth control. Lemme just say, from reading the comments, I was terrified of taking it. I went weeks holding the pill about to take it just to chicken out because of the horror stories I've read on here. However, my experience is nothing at all like most of the users on here. I've actually had a good time with it overall. I take these at night around 10 pm (college student). The first two days are just normal. The third day I woke up at 5 am in a hot sweat and threw up once that morning. But it wasn't like a 'sickly' pukey feeling, just like an 'oh that happened' and I was immediately better and never experienced it again. I'm a month in. What I will say though is don't take this on an empty stomach or take it before having to study. Personally, it makes me a little drowsy for a bit, but wears off, but really dangerous feeling when you're cramming. If I take it on an empty stomach or long after eating something, it upsets my stomach for a bit and gives me a headache."

For Birth Control "I was so scared to take Junel Fe 1/20 after reading all of the reviews. However, I am happy that I did. The first month I experienced a lot of breakthrough bleeding as my body was adjusting to the pill, but now I have my period regularly, and it is almost nothing! It is super light and just enough to let me know I am not pregnant. I didn't experience any side effect symptoms with this pill either, no weight gain like everyone says... however, I am fairly active and eat pretty clean. I would give this a try before taking any of these reviews into consideration, everyone's body is different!"

For Birth Control "This is the first birth control I have ever been on, and I was skeptical after reading all the bad reviews before ever even trying it. I let the first pack sit unopened on my nightstand for almost 2 months before finally working up the nerve to take the first pill. Everyone’s body reacts differently to different hormones. So far, I’ve been on Blisovi Fe 1/20 for 3 months and haven’t had any major side effects. The only cons I can think of are that I spot a lot, and I have noticed an increase in appetite, especially cravings for unhealthy foods, so that’s weird. Even if your birth control is making you hungry, you ultimately control what you put in your body (even if it feels like you don't!). If you eat healthy and stay active, you should have no problems. I had bad hormonal acne, and now it’s pretty much all gone. It’s also helped with my period cramping. Don’t let the negative reviews scare you away because you may be pleasantly surprised. If you don’t like it, just try something different."

For Birth Control "I have been on Loestrin 24 for about 4 years now, and I thought I would share my excellent experience on here, since no one usually goes on the internet to post about their good experiences! Loestrin is a miracle drug in my opinion. The 24-day regimen made a huge difference as opposed to a 21-day regimen. This means that there are only 4 placebo pills at the end of the pack instead of 7! My periods were reduced to almost nothing (but didn't completely disappear, for those that like the assurance of bleeding). I need one panty-liner a day for about 3 days a month. It's amazing! I never gained any weight, and I would say it helped my acne only a little bit - I get pimples no matter what I do. Try Loestrin! You won't regret it!"

For Birth Control "I feel compelled to write this review given all of the terrifyingly bad reviews I read when I was prescribed Lo Loestrin. I was actually put on it for heavy bleeding, and I was worried that I would become depressed, gain weight, and gain acne, but none of that is the case. Before taking Lo Loestrin, I had irregular, week-long periods with extremely heavy bleeding (to the point where I used 4/5 super tampons a day) and horrible cramps. I have been on the pill for 2.5 months now and absolutely love it. I spotted on and off for the first 2 months, which is normal and tolerable. Other than that, my period has been really light and has not lasted more than 3/4 days. I did experience some nausea at the beginning and have perhaps been more emotional than normal. Overall, while there may be mild side effects, they are completely outweighed by how much less miserable my periods have become. Remember that most people with positive results don't review a product, so don’t let the horrific reviews sway you away from trying it."

For Birth Control "Before I was on the Junel Fe 1.5/30 pill, I read these reviews and was so, so scared with all the negative things people were experiencing because this was my first time being on birth control. Since everyone's experience is different, I was hoping mine would be positive. I have been using this pill for a little over 1 month, and so far, so good. The only negative effect is that since being on the pill, I had slight nausea in the morning in the first week. But I have seen more positive effects than negative. The positive effects I have had were that my breast grew a little bigger (I'd probably say I went up from a B to a C cup), my period has completely stopped with only slight spotting, and I haven't seen any changes with gaining weight, no hair loss, no mood changes, etc. So far, so good! Just remember that everyone's experience is different. You'll find the best pill for you :)"

For Birth Control "Not sure why there are so many negative reviews, I've had nothing but an easy time with this medication. I've been on it for about 7 years now. Initially, I was on another pill, but I deal with depression on and off, and my period cramps were awful, so my doctor switched me to Junel because it's lower estrogen. My periods last 2-4 days and are relatively light, hardly any cramps, no acne... I've never had an issue. There's speculation that maybe it causes weight gain, but I work out regularly, so it's not enough to mention."

For Birth Control "I am writing this because I almost lost my life to this drug. Junel Fe should NOT be prescribed to people with a history of any mental health issues. I have never had mental health issues so bad until I started it. I felt so insecure and physically ugly. I disassociated for almost two months, which if you know what dissociation is-it's terrifying. Crippling anxiety and depression to the point where I had to quit my job. Every month my anxiety got worse and nonstop panic attacks and feeling depressed even though I had never felt depressed. I became suicidal as well and was hospitalized for it. PLS DO NOT TAKE THIS, IT IS NOT WORTH THE LIVING NIGHTMARE IT PUT ME THROUGH."

(And yes, I did mind the excessive breakouts of blemishes/cystic acne that accompanied it.) My mental clarity was in danger. Woman to woman, I HIGHLY recommend against! We're better than that."

For Birth Control "Reading all the reviews about this BC made me scared to take it since it was my first time ever going on BC. I was prescribed this due to my irregular cycle and extremely heavy bleeding, but I’m happy to say that my periods have gotten much lighter, and the migraines/headaches I used to get before my periods have gone away. I haven’t noticed any negative side effects except a couple of hormonal pimples (probably because my body was getting used to using hormones). Don’t be afraid of all the negative reviews since everyone's body reacts differently (and if anything, you can just switch pills)!"

For Birth Control "Larin Fe 1/20 has been kind of good so far. I was recently switched to this brand from my other brand, Junel Fe 1/20. On this new brand, Larin, I have had horrible headaches and random cramps throughout the month. I did have a pregnancy scare because I had some symptoms of pregnancy due to the switch of brands, but it turns out that Larin did do its job at preventing pregnancy. My periods are much lighter, and I don’t have much cramping when I get them. Overall, Larin is great! Just gotta let your body get used to it after a few packs!"
