For Birth Control "I've been on the patch for just over a year now. I like the patch, but there are side effects. Be careful putting the patch near your groin muscles. It can cause blood clots. And it is extremely painful! It happened to me, and I'm still on the patch, I'm just a lot more careful about where I stick it. Stick it on your lower back or your bum. Your bum would probably be the best spot because the patch easily gets stuck on your jeans, shirt, bra, and will come off if you don't notice in time! Overall, this birth control is very effective. But remember, double the protection, better chances of staying on the safe side."

For Birth Control "I loved this birth control. I suffer from polycystic ovarian syndrome. On this birth control, I lost 60 pounds, and I probably would have continued losing the weight I gained from the syndrome if I didn't stop. Unfortunately, insurances don't like covering this, which is why I had to stop taking it, as I couldn't afford it. I hate the new pill I'm on and might switch up again. This patch didn't make me depressed (like the pill does), I lost acne quickly, and my hair lessened in growth. The only thing I hated is after you take off the patch, you have the square mark from it on you for a couple of weeks. I recommend 100%!"

For Birth Control "I've been on the patch for about 5 years now and love it. I never had many problems with it. I didn't gain weight, but I typically will get a pimple or two the week before my period is supposed to start. I do get a slight skin irritation where I put it on. Only a little itchy and no big deal. I wear mine on my stomach and switch sides to help irritation. I don't think it hurts that bad to take off, it's like pulling off a bandaid. I have only had one fall off, and I was swimming every day for a week when it happened. I do notice I am more emotional (and slightly bitchy) while I'm on my period, but I put the new one on and I'm fine. Definitely would recommend!"

For Birth Control "I've never used any contraceptive before, but when my doctor told me I just needed to change the patch once a week, I knew it was the patch for me. I LOVE the side effects! My breasts increased in size, my butt did too, my weight is stable, and my sex drive is amazing! Some breakouts here and there, but not that bad."

For Birth Control "I've been on the patch for 13 years. It's been amazing. No real side effects except for a slight mood change before my period is due. My periods are shorter, lighter, and I always know when it's coming. No weight gain. My skin is flawless. It's rare I get a pimple, and if I do, it clears up quickly with no marks. I love this form of birth control and would highly recommend it."

For Birth Control "I am 33 years old and have been using the Ortho Evra transdermal patch for approximately 16 months. I ran out of the patches, so I had a gap and started the cycle again. Everything seemed okay, my periods were normal and all well for the first year. The last 4 months of using the patches, I started with medical problems. I had fatigue, dizziness, irregular periods, very heavy headaches, and tiredness. I fainted, and then after that, it went downhill. I knew something was wrong but never linked it to the patches. It progressed, and I ended up with the most severe headache, sickness, etc. I was sent to the hospital via ambulance, and it turns out they think the patches caused a TIA (mini-stroke). I stayed in overnight and am waiting for my MRI appointment to come through to see if any long-term damage, blood clots, etc. The hospital's recommendation was to remove the patch immediately and never use it again. So I definitely don't recommend it. It is too risky."

For Birth Control "I'm 17 and have been using the Ortho Evra patch for about 2 years now. I absolutely love it! It helped out my periods a lot! Before, I was on the Nuvaring, and I hated it compared to the patch! It's so easy to remember and easy to apply! It just looks like a nude color band-aid, I just apply it to my butt cheek, so no one can see it. The first few weeks, I had some problems, but after, I've never had another problem with it! I highly suggest it! And it definitely prevents pregnancy!"

For Birth Control "Been on the patch for almost four months now, and I love it! It is much more convenient than taking birth control pills every day, most of the time, I forget I even have it on. The first month, I experienced really emotional mood swings and a really heavy, long period. Those side effects have really tapered off since then, I'm still slightly more emotional during my period, and it still can be a little heavy the first day or two. Nothing too bad at all, and I think the longer I'm on the patch, the better it'll get. It is also completely free with my current insurance plan. And the best part, it is effective! All in all, I'd totally recommend it."

For Birth Control "The only side effects I have experienced are bloating and tender breasts. I think my breasts are growing, and I think it is a downside because I don't want them to. I didn't notice any weight loss or gain. I had spotting, which is normal, but it is annoying. I just suggest using pantyliners."

For Birth Control "I started the patch on Friday. I felt fine Friday night. I woke up Saturday morning and felt okay. As the day progressed, my nausea got worse. Woke up Sunday feeling okay, but around 11 pm, the nausea came back. I had a headache and my saliva was really thick. I went to bed that night feeling horrible, not getting much sleep. Monday, I woke up feeling extremely lethargic. I ended up having to leave work early because I thought I was going to pass out. I went home and slept most of the day. Tuesday morning, I spent by the toilet and called my doctor, who told me to take it off if it continued. I just took it off 30 minutes ago and I already feel better."

For Birth Control "Been on it for 2 months now, increased 2 cup sizes and lost weight! Went from 140 to 128-130 lbs, only thing is, I'm SO emotional. It's driving my boyfriend and me crazy, I cry about everything. No babies, bigger breasts, weight loss. Sounds good to me! Only problem is emotions, but I'm sure they'll subside."

For Birth Control "I've been on the patch for 8 years. Took it off 2 years ago to conceive my 2nd child and had no problems whatsoever. It does take 3 months to leave your system, so keep that in mind before trying to conceive. After those 3 months... BOOM! We were pregnant! Got right back on it after my 2nd was born and have been good ever since! No side effects, I like the fact that I can control when I get my period by removing the patch the week that I want it or putting on a new patch if I don't want it that week. No weight gain, nothing. A in my book!!"

For Birth Control "I started Ortho Evra about 3 months ago. Let me just say, it has changed my life for the better. One, my period is more light and short. My sex drive has gone up. I have put on a little weight. But, to me, it's good weight. My breasts have increased from a C cup to a DD! I'm not complaining there! The only complaint that I have had is one patch did come off. I noticed right away and put on a new patch. Nothing to worry about. This was my first birth control method, so I can't compare it to other forms, but I honestly love it and will continue to use it."

For Birth Control "I was on the Depo shot for 2 years, at first, it was fine, but in the last 6 months, I became very depressed, my anxiety levels were through the roof. I gained a few extra pounds, and I had mood swings like crazy! I decided to try the patch since it has different hormones, and even though I just finished my first week, I can already see a difference. I'm not moody at all, I'm a lot happier and more myself. And I've even lost a few pounds. Other than the breast tenderness, everything else is completely fine. I'll still have hormones from the shot in me for a while longer, and I never had my period with the shot. I'll just have to wait and see!"

For Birth Control "I've been on the patch for about 4 months. I haven't noticed any emotional changes, nor weight gain, but I've been spotting throughout using almost every patch. I am not supposed to have a period with the way my doctor set this up for me (taking patches back to back, indefinitely), but I still have them throughout using the patch. The first month I bled every single day, then it cleared up for a couple of months, now I’m back to bleeding every day. It’s like a mild period, but I’d say it’s more than just spotting. I’m trying to stick with it to see how it plays out, and hoping I will stop bleeding before the 6 month mark."

For Birth Control "I ended up trying the patch after having too many bad experiences with the pill form. I have fibroids and am extremely irregular (skipping months at a time), so I really needed to be on something. The first few months were a bit rough, but it evened out pretty smoothly after that. I've now been on the patch for over two years, and I absolutely love it. I've never had it fall off, and I no longer have any side effects. In fact, 99% of the time, I forget it's even there. Not pregnant yet either, so it works there too. Great option if you can't handle the pill."

For Birth Control "Loved the patch! Been using it for about 5 months. The first 2 months my breasts were super sore, but I went up 2 cup sizes! Soreness started to taper off after 2 months. Weight, acne, and sex drive did not seem to be impacted. If anything, they got better. Only complaint is that the patch would sometimes cause my skin to itch a lot."

For Birth Control "I was on the patch for 5 years. I never had any problems, always used it as it was directed. I decided myself to give my body a break, and after a month, I got pregnant, and I was okay with it. But I love the patch, thinking about getting back on it."

For Birth Control "Best birth control I have ever been on. I was on Seasonique before the patch, and I had my period for a month straight. I have been on almost every birth control. This is by far the best birth control I have ever been on. It also helped with my acne. I only break out maybe two pimples before my period now. It also cleared up my acne I had before going on this birth control."

For Birth Control "The issue with a lot of these reviews is they don't give the patch time to settle. You're giving your body hormones that it isn't used to having excess of, so it can take up to 6 months for it to fully settle. I've been on the patch for 8 years and love it. The first 3 months, I had headaches, cramps, and slight nausea, but after that, I have had 0 side effects. No other birth control works for me, and I would recommend the patch. Please just give it time, it won't be for everyone, but 3 weeks, like most of the reviewers have had it for, just isn't long enough."

For Birth Control "I have been on birth control since I was 14 or 15 to control my period. I have been on the pill, the ring, and the shot. The shot was the devil, and while on the shot, I went to my gyn and told her I wouldn't stop bleeding, and I wanted to stop the shot, and I told her I wanted to try the patch. I was going to wait for the shot to wear off because I have 5 more weeks, but I couldn't take the bleeding, so I put on the patch on a Sunday. A couple of hours later, the bleeding stopped!! I love, love the patch, it is easy to remember. The only problem I have had the last 2 patches is it left my skin irritated, but it's my fault because I shaved the area before I put on the patch."

For Birth Control "I love the patch. I'm 17, and I use it to regulate my periods. They used to be very irregular and long, and now they come like clockwork. They're kind of heavy, but they only last 4-5 days, which is so nice. The first week of the patch, I felt pretty nauseated, and I had loss of appetite, but after that, I was fine. No nausea, no headaches, and my breasts got bigger. The only problem is that I'm extremely emotional. I overreact and cry a lot, especially before/during my period. Overall, though, the patch is great, and way easier than the pill. I recommend it."

For Birth Control "Well, basically when I first used it, it was great, only had tender breasts, felt a little sick, but it went away. Then all of a sudden I had these terrible mood swings. Felt really emotional. And I've been that exhausted, I've had to take naps during the day. So yeah, not that good for me."

For Birth Control "I've been on the patch for 6-7 years, and I love it! It regulated my periods, they don't last as long and are not that heavy. I used to get the worst cramps, now I get a little bit on the first day. I went a cup size bigger, and I gained 5-10 pounds, give or take. Which isn't a whole lot. I haven't had any side effects. I used to have acne, but it is all cleared up now. I did go off the birth control for a little bit. When I started back up, I put the patch on too soon, and then I ended up having my period for an entire month until the next cycle happens. So with my experience, don't put your patch on before you get your period if you're just starting it. I never have any issues, the only thing is the lint that shows up around the patch."
