For Birth Control "I'm a 19-year-old, and I've had my fair share with different birth controls. I tried the NuvaRing, and that was not the most comfortable thing in the world, so I decided to try the patch. I've been on it for a solid year and a half, and for the most part, it works, I have not had a child. But every month, I would get so nauseous after putting a new patch on, after my period, that I'd need to sit back and close my eyes for a while. It drained my energy levels completely. And every so often, I would have my period for a lengthy month, without it lightening up or signs of stopping. I was finally fed up with my monthly periods, so I went to the doctor, and she suggested the Mirena."

For Birth Control "I have been using the patch for 2 months now, and I like it. Made my periods lighter and my breasts bigger. Things that I don't like are that sometimes I peel it off by mistake (scary though), and it's hard to hide in public. But it works well. I like the results. 90 percent recommended."

For Birth Control "I have been on the patch for over 4 years. No babies, so it has done its job on that matter. Never had any issues with skin irritation where the patch is applied. When I first started the patch, I had the worst acne of my life on my face for a couple of weeks. Boobs definitely got bigger and more sensitive. I have noticed (and those close to me have noticed) that I have been experiencing bad mood swings lately and have been super emotional for almost the last 6 months. The patch is the only thing I can narrow it down to. Has anyone else had reactions after being on it for so long?"

For Birth Control "I've been on the patch for 3 weeks now. I am now on my patch-free week, and I think it's great. There's no itching or reddening at the placement site, and I alternate between placements each week, which helps. I feel nauseous every once in a while, but that may be contributed to other things, and it subsides relatively quickly. I had a slight headache the first day of application, but none since. I've had a few mood swings, but once again, it could be contributed to other things. Oh, and my breasts have grown, which is a plus for some. Slight tenderness but only to touch. Sex drive has increased. And it's so easy to remember! I'm 98 lbs and 5'1'."

For Birth Control "I love this patch and would recommend it to anyone! I'm British, so the cost is all covered too, which is even better! On the first full day of using the patch, I was violently sick and felt nauseous for the morning, but that was it. Since then, I have actually calmed down with mood swings and a lot less snappy! Also, I'm quite small and have naturally small breasts, but have gone up about half a cup size in the 3 weeks I've been on it!"

For Birth Control "I started the first patch, first day of my period as instructed by my ob-gyn, and it was perfect, side effects were almost non-existent. My period actually got lighter and less painful. First week was ok, second week I suffered from some joint pain, then severe stomach aches, and finally vomiting. Spent two days barely able to eat or drink anything till I took off the patch and immediately felt better. If it wasn't for the stomach problems, I would definitely recommend it since side effects are the least compared to other methods."

For Birth Control "I had a bad experience with the pills, so I went to the patch. I’ve been on it for a year now, and I have been getting really bad side effects. I have no sex drive anymore, and I’m basically going through menopause! I have severe vaginal atrophy at the age of 18, making the slightest touch on the outside of my vagina excruciatingly painful. What’s the point of using birth control if you can’t/don’t want to have sex anymore? Now I’m going through months of testing to find a diagnosis and treat this issue the patch has left me. Stop using it at the first signs of pain you experience- don’t wait as long as I did."

For Birth Control "This has been the worst 5 days of my life. After the 1st day, I took a pregnancy test because I thought I was pregnant from all the nausea. 2nd day I almost quit my job because I was extremely exhausted, felt helpless, and wouldn't stop crying. Every morning I wake up with an upset tummy and cannot brush my teeth without vomiting. I've stopped taking it now and will not recommend it to anyone. You completely lose yourself. It is a nightmare."

For Birth Control "I'm a slim 25-year-old, and without hormonal birth control, I have an irregular cycle, sometimes going 4 months without a period, with very long buildups of bloating, hormonal moods, and pain on the weeks before it started. I have been using it for 7 months now, and I don't think I would use any other form of birth control over this. At first, I experienced some cramping into the third week of the cycle for the first 3 months. I noticed my mood is a lot more evened out over my cycle. I also experience little to none of that buildup with bloating before my period starts, with a now regulated period. Very convenient to use. Another point to note, which is a positive for me, is that I have managed to gain some healthy weight since using it."

For Birth Control "Overall, the patch is easy and convenient-especially for a college freshman. I was on the patch for about 4 months, and my only complaints are that I struggled placing it somewhere that it didn't get wrinkled and gross from fabric. I was more emotional (could also be stress from college), and I did gain about 10 pounds within those four months. I'm also a runner and swim occasionally, so I have to limit my time in the pool and can't sweat too much because I'm scared the patch will fall off. Otherwise, it cleared up my acne, lessened my symptoms from my period, and my period is perfectly regulated and only lasts about 4 days. Definitely recommend. I found the best place to put the patch is on the upper arm."

For Birth Control "I was on Ortho Cyclen 28-day cycle for almost two years. I lost my sex drive, I gained almost thirty pounds in five months, my moods were horrid, and constant migraines. I switched to the patch, which I had been on previously. I'm on my second patch, and already my sex drive is returning, I'm dropping some of that weight I gained, and my breasts are growing (they aren't even tender). My only serious complaint is the itching. My skin itches where I place it and leaves a few little bumps that itch and burn. I'll take that and deal with it. Also, placement took a while to figure out, but the best area to put it on is your shoulder blades. They don't wrinkle and scrunch up, or collect the linty stuff there."

For Birth Control "I’ve been on it for 3 months now. I was hesitant to go on it, due to reviews. I have tried all kinds of birth control, from the implant to IUD. I am horrible at remembering to take a pill at the same time every day. With the patch, I find it easy to only have to change it once a week. I have been experiencing some side effects, nothing detrimental though. Since starting this medicine, my breasts have grown at least a cup size and are tender, my appetite has increased a lot, and there’s very minor irritation from the adhesive when I take it off, identical to what I get with Band-Aids-again, nothing too bad. Also, I have used it to skip periods, but I have found I experience very minor cramps when I normally would be having my period. All in all, I would highly recommend this to anybody as a method of BC that doesn’t require you to take it every day and isn’t so invasive like the IUD."

For Birth Control "After looking at all birth control, I decided to go with the patch since it had the least side effects. This is my first birth control ever, and I was worried how I would feel. I read the reviews on here and was expecting a horrible headache the first day I put it on, but I didn't feel any different at all. It's still my first week, but so far, everything is great! I forget it's even on me, and my sex drive is still beyond great!"

For Birth Control "I switched from the pill because I was having trouble taking it at the same time every day. I loved the patch and how convenient it was. I wore it for two years and I will admit my boobs grew a cup size and I gained about 10 lbs over time, but my bf likes a little chub, so it was fine, lol. I NEVER had nausea problems (kinda shocked by some reviews here). I'll admit I would have PMS-like mood swings each time I changed the patch, but I never had shakes or sweating. I actually really love this birth control and rarely notice side effects. My periods became lighter (I had heavy bleeding pain before the patch), it lasted 3 days and was on a regular schedule. I highly recommend."

For Birth Control "I have used Ortho Evra for 4+ years while being in a relationship. I have had regular periods each month, all beginning on the same day each month while on the patch. My periods only lasted 3-4 days. I love the patch and have never had a pregnancy scare while on it. The only downside, if any, was when putting the patch back on after having it off for a week. That sometimes caused a sense of nausea, but I would highly recommend it."

For Birth Control "I've only been on the patch for a few weeks, but let me tell you... it's GREAT for anyone who is super sensitive to estrogen or any other hormone replacement! I couldn't even take the lowest dose of birth control because the hormones made my stomach so sick. I was unable to even move for weeks when I took the pill. Started the patch because I have incredibly low estrogen, and I haven't had any nausea, but a little fatigue. Probably more due to the fact that it's something 'new' your body is dealing with. I haven't really had the increased sex drive like a lot of women mention, but I definitely feel as though my mood has evened out, and I'm less 'high and low' like I used to be. Highly recommend this as a form of birth control."

For Birth Control "This is my first time using any form of birth control. I'm glad I went with the patch, I have been on it for 8 months. At first, it decreased my libido, but that subsided. The only downside is that it made my periods longer (5-6 days to be exact). I used to only have periods for 3-4 days max, it also made my cramps intense for the first two days of my period. I never had cramps before using birth control. Other than that, I'm happy with the patch."

For Birth Control "I have been on the Ortho Evra patch for just over a month now. When I first applied the patch, I had a very small amount of nausea, nothing worth complaining about, though. When it came time for my off week, I have never had a better period. I had a very small amount of cramping for a few hours, and that was it. There are only 2 things I could complain about: 1) The hormones from the patch made my breasts extremely sore and sensitive, which made it hard to be active or even give hugs. 2) The patch would never stay in place. I'm a very active person, and the patch kept sliding around during exercise and regular day-to-day stuff. This was easily solved by figuring out which recommended area moves the least. Overall, great experience."

For Birth Control "I've been using the patch for over two years because I have no other choice. Only upside is I've never gotten pregnant on it. Right away, I noticed side effects of gaining weight and nausea. Over time, the symptoms became worse. Every day, Monday after changing the patch, I become very ill. I wake up hot and disoriented. Then my body forces me to violently vomit for 4-5 hours. While this happens, I experience chest pain, difficulty breathing, extreme exhaustion, so dizzy I can't walk. My heart feels like it almost skips beats, then tries to catch up to itself. It's like having food poisoning."

For Birth Control "I'm 21 years old, and have been on the patch for 2 years now. In the beginning, I wasn't nauseous or anything, but in the last couple of months, nausea and headache have gotten really bad. I'm still going to be on it for two more weeks until I get an IUD. Cannot wait! Other than that, it's pretty good, no pregnancy, no dryness, no mood swings."

For Birth Control "I have been on Ortho Evra going on 4 years now, and I really like the convenience of it. It is easy to remember, and I enjoy that I know exactly when I will have my period. The first month or so I started using it, my body had to adjust, so I was a little nauseated the first day of a new patch, but that went away. I change it from one side of my pelvis to another each week. I am considering changing birth controls only because my insurance does not cover it, and I pay 50 dollars a month for it, however, after reading reviews of some others, I will probably just stay on the patch. 50 dollars a month is much cheaper than paying for a baby!"

For Birth Control "I have been using the Ortho Evra patch for 4 months. At the beginning, the side effects were not good, I had nausea, headaches, and sore breasts. In the first month, I had breakthrough bleeding for 7 days. But after those two months with side effects, everything was normalized, only the pain in the breasts remained, but only when the period is coming. I still consider it a very good method for me because I should not remember every day, as I am too forgetful to take pills. Llevo usando el Evra 4 meses. Y al principio, los efectos secundarios fueron rudos conmigo, tenía náuseas, dolores de cabeza, y dolor en los senos. Y el primer mes tuve un sangrado intermenstrual por 7 días. Pero luego de esos dos meses con efectos, todo se normalizó, solo quedaron los dolores en los senos cuando está por venirme el periodo. Pero aún así considero que es un muy buen método para mí debido a que no debo recordar cada día porque soy muy olvidadizo para tomar píldoras."

For Birth Control "I recently started using Ortho Evra and LOVE it. It's easy to use and convenient, especially since you only have to change it once every week. When I first began using the patch, I had an upset stomach for about 2 days, but after that, I had no more stomach aches. I have also noticed breast tenderness, but it's mild and goes away quickly. I have noticed occasional bleeding, but that also went away after the first few weeks. Overall, I would highly recommend the product."

For Birth Control "I've been on the patch for about 2 years now. I honestly love it. The only issue I have been noticing lately is acne. I have never had acne issues up until now, and I'm 21. Have any of you ladies had acne issues while on this patch? If so, what did you do? Any tips would help because this makes me sad. :( But other than that, it's easy going."

For Birth Control "First form of birth control was Zovia. Didn't like it because it made me nauseous all the time. So after a year of being off birth control, I decided to try the patch. I like it a lot. No major side effects at all. The only thing is that I did lose my sex drive, which made me pretty sad, but I'd rather deal with that than the side effects of other birth controls. I've only been on it for about three months, so maybe I still need to wait to adjust. I do feel like I'm gaining weight, though. Although I would not completely blame it on the patch because birth control gives you cravings that you can choose to act upon or not. Birth control doesn't make you gain weight. It's what you decide to put in your mouth that does."
