For Birth Control "I have been on the contraception patch for two and a half years now and have absolutely no problem. Works perfect for me. I get them free from my local sexual health clinic, and I think I am the only person who seems to be on the patch. My friends all laugh when I show them it on my bum. I am so forgetful and forgot to replace it a couple of times, but my boyfriend and I have had no pregnancy scares with it! The patch is a blessing, and I wouldn't go on any other contraception."

For Birth Control "After the first few months of adjusting to it, I found that I really loved this birth control, and it is highly effective. The first few months were really easy and smooth, with the exception of feeling really tired. I typically react that way to hormones/estrogen. Everyone's different. After that, my skin cleared up, my breasts grew a whole size bigger, my anxiety got better, and my sex drive is insanely active. I would recommend this to any woman under 35 who doesn't smoke."

For Birth Control "The pill gave me aura migraines and mood swings, and my period wasn't any better. In fact, my cramps got worse, bleeding was still the same. I wanted to try the IUD, but my doctor is an airhead and couldn't get it in, so I settled with the patch. I honestly couldn't tell if it was working the first couple of months because I had no side effects like nausea or headaches. I was a little leery about hormones coming from a sticker you put on your skin, but 7 months later, no baby, so it must be working. I went off it for a month because my prescription refill got messed up, and I went back on as soon as I got another box, and I seriously could not tell the difference between having these on and not using any birth control at all. Loving it!"

For Birth Control "Was put on Ortho Evra to treat my PCOS, just came off Diane. Wasn’t great at taking the pill, so I tried this patch, and OMG, only had it on a week, and I was absolutely crawling the walls. I did read all the side effects before using, but I have nausea, anxiety, depression, and I'm hungry all the time and no sleep. I also felt it was uncomfortable because my clothes kept catching on it. My acne is worse, and yes, all this in one week!!!! Never again."

For Birth Control "I've been on the Ortho Evra patch for 4 years now, and I've never had any problems. I was originally put on the patch to combat hormonal mood swings, severe cramps, and an irregular period. Since then, my period comes 3 days after I remove the patch and lasts till I put on my next (3-4 days). I've never had any spotting or bleeding throughout the month, and my weight has never been affected. My mood is also very stable, and I get virtually no cramps/aches on my period. I would highly recommend the patch to anyone."

For Birth Control "I've been on the patch for 4 months now. The first month, I had spotting for about 2 weeks after my period, but it vanished completely, and I didn't have any spotting since. My periods seem to be less heavy, and my cramps are completely gone too - I never had bad ones before, though. I found the best place for me to wear it is on my butt. It does irritate the area, and it becomes itchy the last week. It always gets lint around the edges, but I just don't care anymore. Despite everything, I'm thinking of stopping using it. It has killed my sex drive, thus making my sex life miserable and endangering my relationship. I'm so dry and so uninterested in sex now when 5-6 months ago, I was a waterfall after the slightest caress. It's a shame."

For Birth Control "I am 19 years old and was looking for a birth control that was easier for me because I am lazy when it comes to taking pills and forgetful, so the patch ultimately would work better with my schedule. I was really nervous trying it out because of some reviews. I just finished my first month with the patch, which I've heard is the hardest, and for me, it was really easy. I haven't noticed any mood swings or any other side effects, thankfully. I place the patch on my butt cheek, and I would say the very first time I put it on, I automatically started feeling cramps on my tailbone, and I have also noticed that my hands are super dry, like extremely dry now, and I got a few rashes on my hands as well. Other than that, I like the patch."

For Birth Control "I had been on the patch for about 3 months. I had noticed a bit of mood swings, and my breasts grew as well (bonus). Unfortunately, for any of you women who have sensitive skin or are allergic to certain chemicals, I was allergic to the sticky glue on the back of the patch. Whenever it was on, I would be extremely itchy and have a terrible rash. It became so bad that I still have scars in the shape of the patch all over my body. So if you have sensitive skin, then be wary that the patch may cause a reaction!"

For Birth Control "I'm 33 years old. I have been using the patch on and off since 2016 when I first heard about it. It is the only birth control I've ever agreed to take, I had very heavy and very painful periods for years, and it's helped a lot. When I first started using it, I had really terrible mood swings, rage, extremely emotional reactions, and temper problems. After 2 months, that disappeared. The upside: my boobs grew, and they are super perky, but when they started growing, they hurt a lot. Besides all of that, it's worked pretty well. I took it off for the whole of 2017 because I wanted to feel normal. In 2018, I had fibroids removed and unfortunately had to go back on the patch to get my cycle back on track. The most annoying thing about using the patch is the fact that no doctor will prescribe it for more than 6 months, and you can't get it over the counter, which works out more expensive in the long run because of the consultation cost to get the prescription every 6 months and the wasted time."

For Birth Control "I've been on the patch for about 4 months now, and I can honestly say that I love it. This is my first time being on BC, and I did a lot of research before picking one out. The first 3 months, I experienced some of the side effects: headaches, nausea, sore breasts, emotional as hell. But all that stopped in the 3rd month. I still get a little emotional, but that's just regular PMSing. Do not buy the generic brand, it sucks ass. It doesn't stick as well as the name brand, so I spend the $5 to get it. My skin gets a little irritated around the patch, but I have seriously dry skin, so that can play a factor. Overall, I'm loving it! My BF can relax a little because he doesn't have to worry about condoms anymore because this is more cost-efficient."

For Birth Control "I've been on the patch for almost 5 years now, and it's amazing. I tried the pill before, but always forgot to take it. The patch is perfect since you change it weekly. I haven't noticed any side effects whatsoever, the only downside I ever remember is the first couple of months it was really annoying and itchy, but now I never even notice it. And sometimes it starts to peel off in the shower, but in the time I've been on it, I've only had patches fall completely off twice, so overall this thing is an effective lifesaver. It has never failed me."

For Birth Control "I have to say, I was terrified of starting the patch after reading so many awful reviews. Over the past 8 years, I've been on 4 different combined pills, all of which eventually made me nauseous and caused me to vomit soon after taking them. So I was really worried the patch would have similar side effects. I'm now 6 weeks in (so I've had my first break) and have to say it's great. I haven't had any problems with it coming off or peeling, and I barely notice it! Obvious negatives are how noticeable it is and the yucky stickiness you get around the edge, but these are bearable. The only side effect that's bothered me is how sore my boobs are all the time - I can barely put my bra on! Upside though... they've grown! Overall, good, easy method."

For Birth Control "I have been on the patch for 10 months now, and I absolutely love it. I don't worry about pregnancy scares at all. The only downside I have is that when I put on a new patch after my period, I get really nauseated and a bad headache for a few hours, but this started about 3 months ago. The other downside is that when I exercise and take hot showers, it seems to make the patch slip off. But it's honestly the best birth control I've been on, easy to use and great protection."

For Birth Control "I have used the Ortho Evra patch for a month now, it's the first form of birth control that I have ever taken. Even though I was married for six years, I have always used natural methods, such as a fertility app, and it worked (my two kids were both planned). I was always thinking that birth control would mess with my body and my mood, and it's going to affect my sex drive, but I am so satisfied with the patch. The only side effect that I have been experiencing is an upset stomach and diarrhea since I started on the patch, but it's okay because it helped me lose some extra pounds, lol. My sex drive has increased, I'm not sure if that's because of the patch or because of my new sexual partner. The patch is very easy to use, and it works perfectly for me because I am very forgetful and can't commit to taking a pill every night."

For Birth Control "I started using Depo-Provera as my birth control, and I was on it for 2 years plus. I had no side effects until I gained so much weight the last year, I was 120 lbs, and now I'm at 150 lbs. I will never go back to it. So I switched to the patch, and same, I have no bad side effects yet. I've been on it for over a year, my weight has gone down, I'm down to 140 lbs, which is hard to lose weight for us girls. My breast size increased, my thighs and butt increased, good plus :) I've never had a problem with acne with either birth control. My mood swings are bad here and there. I love how my period is regular now, and I know when it's coming."

For Birth Control "This is my first time on any kind of birth control, and I must say this has been a horrible experience for me. I say this because my period has been horrible, it has been intensified. I have horrible cramps, my back and my stomach hurt every day. The smell of things makes me nauseous. I'm very moody, I'm always sad or upset - it's kind of ridiculous because I wish someone had informed me about this. I bleed uncontrollably, it's heavier than normal and it's thicker. I feel like I should just try another source of birth control."

For Birth Control "After having awful side effects from oral contraceptive pills, and after trying Ortho Cyclen again as part of my IVF protocol (it made me so dizzy and nauseous I woke up in the middle of the night vomiting), my reproductive endocrinologist switched me to the Ortho Evra patch. What a difference! None of the horrible side effects, and I can eat and keep it down! Yay!"

For Birth Control "The Ortho Evra patch has served its purpose for me for over a year now, but I'm having to stop due to unmanageable weight gain. My appetite has increased hugely, I'm more prone to emotional eating, and I can't lose it as easily as I used to. I keep active every day, so I was expecting to be losing weight, but my doctor told me I've put on 10 kg in the last 5 months. I've never piled it on like this, so unfortunately, this might be the last straw now. Before this, I had breast tenderness and nausea for the first two days of wearing the patch, but nothing unmanageable. I had one incident where I bled continuously for over a month, only stopping when I came off it entirely for a couple of weeks. I think this was due to me not breaking from it frequently enough."

For Birth Control "I am almost on my third week of the patch. The first day was awful, my cramps were so bad I couldn't sit through a meeting with my professor, and he told me not to go to class. The next day was absolutely fine and has been fine ever since. My breasts have already gotten much fuller. So far, no weight gain, I don't think, a little itchiness at the site of application, but it seems to be working really well."

For Birth Control "I have had a difficult relationship with contraceptives in the past - on both the implant and the pill, I had consistent bleeding, in one case every single day for four months. I have been on the patch for over a month now and have just missed a period (hopefully meaning it's stopped permanently), had no mood swings, no acne, my hair has stopped shedding so much, and I've gone up a full cup size from 32C to 32D. I'd honestly say my breasts looked so much bigger within the first week. I'm a very cynical person as well and I can't even deny any of these pros. Got this on the NHS in the UK where contraceptives are completely free."

For Birth Control "I have used the Ortho Evra patch 2 years ago, and I loved it. Did not fall pregnant and had no side effects, but I went back to using it again six months ago. My sex drive has drastically dropped and suffering from vaginal dryness for the past 3 months."

For Birth Control "I was on the patch for a total of 3 weeks. About 3 days after I started, I got really bad heart palpitations, my anxiety went through the roof. But I could still deal with this. Then I cried for no reason for about the entire time I was on the patch. But again, I thought hormones mess you up, so just give it a chance. Horrible thoughts were the next side effect. I thought I was not good enough, nobody could ever love me, and everyone would be happier if I would just be gone. Yes, these were my everyday thoughts for about 2 weeks. All of this being said, I am a very happy, positive person that loves life, I had no reason to be depressed or to think these things. I knew this. My husband removed the patch. A week later, I felt like myself again."

For Birth Control "I was on the patch for a total of 24 hours. By the end of this time, I was at work trying my hardest not to pass out and get sick at the same time - took it off and felt completely fine within 20 minutes. From the research I've done, these types of symptoms usually last a few days after you apply a new one, and if I'm applying a new one once a week, that's living in agony 50% of the time! I very rarely get side effects from medication/birth control, so this surprised me. You are also at a higher risk with this type of birth control as your body is absorbing a much higher dosage of estrogen compared to the pill. Needless to say, I quickly made an appointment at my doctor to get back on the pill."

For Birth Control "I've used the patch for about 3 years, and I love it. I am horrible about remembering to take the pill, so this was a great option for me. I was on Ortho Tri-Cyclen before that and didn't notice any side effects when I switched. However, now that my health insurance has changed, I am forced to switch back to the pill. I will miss using Ortho Evra!"

For Birth Control "I loved the results! It is so easy to put on my butt cheek (alternating each week) and forget about for a week. I love how hassle-free it is, my insurance even covers it 100%, so I don't have a co-pay. I haven't had any issues with it coming loose, but that is one of my few complaints. When I pulled it off the first time, it felt like a waxing strip, but that's a price to pay for how convenient it is, now I use a little lotion to get it off. I am accustomed to having a few breakouts here and there, however, I've been getting huge cystic pimples. They have cleared up, and I haven't had any for the last week, though. My breasts have gone from D to pushing a DD and are extremely tender. I am somewhat moody as well."
