For Birth Control "I have been on this birth control for about 3 months now. The first month was fine. Last month, I started developing horrible boob pain and veins coursing all over them. Then I noticed spider veins on my hips and then on my butt. I have occasional leg pains. I’m wondering if anyone else has experienced this? I also have headaches, occasional nausea, lacking motivation, really bad appetite changes (one day super hungry, the next day don’t want to eat), starting to feel depressed, and anxiety increasing by a ton. I just feel generally tired and am thinking of switching pills."

For Birth Control "I've been on it for 7 months now, and it has been a good experience. At first, I was scared to take it due to the possible side effects and weight gain! Only the first month I experienced mild headaches and morning sickness, but I think it was my body adjusting to it. No weight gain at all, which makes it great, my periods are regular, always on time, and cramps got better. The only thing I noticed is that I get emotional the first week of starting a new package, but it helps having a very comprehensive boyfriend. Other than that, the pill is great! I enjoy my sex better, without stressing about getting pregnant! I'll soon be getting my 8th and 9th package."

For Birth Control "First of all, I don’t recommend this if you have anxiety. This birth control caused my anxiety to spike, and it’s only been three weeks. I started getting depressive episodes, lower abdominal pain, nausea, big pimples that I have NEVER gotten before, and now I’m having breakthrough bleeding. Listen, take this pill at your own risk. Starting today, I’m done with it."

For Birth Control "Before I started it, I was mortified of it based on all these terrible reviews. Within 2-3 weeks, women were complaining about hair falling out, suicidal thoughts, nausea, mood swings, heavy bleeding, and so forth. I'm going on 7 weeks and haven't had not one of those symptoms, with a slight exception of the nausea. I get nauseous probably once every few days. The sensation lasts for about a minute and it's gone. I can't even pinpoint that the BC is the culprit. My experience with Chateal has been a breeze so far, and I hope it stays that way. So don't let these negative reviews steer you the wrong way. Everyone is different, and it clearly works great for many, not all, but many. Most importantly, I'm not pregnant!!!!"

For Birth Control "I went on Alesse a week ago, and the day after I started, I was terribly nauseous, which I thought was normal, because my body was adjusting. The next day, I had a terrible anxiety attack and felt like there was literally a gray cloud over my head for the next several days. I cried every 10 minutes, I barely had an appetite, and I overall just felt so on edge at all times. I didn’t want to live like that and just wanted some peace. Once I realized that the happy girl in me was gone the second I started taking birth control, I stopped right away. I will be seeing my gynecologist, and hopefully there’s something out there for me, but I strongly advise you to stay away from this pill."

For Birth Control "First BC I’ve ever loved! Positives: • no added weight gain. I am smaller framed. • didn’t change my sex drive • haven’t gotten pregnant with my partner, and he always finishes inside • no positive or negative effect on skin • periods come at the same time every month. I was so irregular before • shaves a day to two days off of my previous 7-day cycle. Negatives/side effects • experienced some nausea when I first began taking it. 30 mins after taking the pill, I noticed I would get a little hot and nauseated. But after a while, I no longer experienced that. • I’m a little more emotional. Doesn’t take much to get the waterworks going. • I feel slightly more fatigued and will sleep more. I combat this with eating small pieces of raw young ginger to spice myself awake. Overall, it’s been great for me. I’ve been taking it for almost 2 years. Previously, I tried the depo shot, which was so bad and made me bleed nonstop for months."

For Birth Control "Was on Aviane for a year with no problem, switched to Ortho for 3 months and gained weight, got acne, and my sex drive died. Back on Aviane for 3 days now and can already tell things are getting better. In my initial experience with Aviane, I felt a bit nauseous at times after taking the pill for the first couple of months, but that went away. I didn't really gain weight, and didn't find it hard to drop some weight when I started a workout regimen. My skin was clear, sex drive great, maybe a little more emotional around period time but nothing out of control, really helped with cramps, and had a predictable and short/light period. I even skipped a period once on Aviane because of a vacation and had no side effects."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "After reading all the horrible comments on sites about this medication, I thought I would add my positive ones. I have been on it a little over 4 months now. As of the 4th month, I stopped all bleeding. Very few side effects at first, maybe being tired (I was anemic too), a little nausea and cramps right at first, but getting past all that, the bleeding finally stopped. This is a wonderful medication. Don't let the negative comments impact you. Each of us reacts differently. I have fibroids, and the bleeding was very bad. They didn't know if this would help or not, worth the shot. Glad it is so far. Just don't give up at first, even if you want to. Give it at least until the 4th month for your body to adjust."

For Birth Control "My previous birth control worked wonderfully, beautiful skin, and I did not get pregnant. However, my PMS became difficult to deal with, headaches, nausea, and fatigue. My doctor suggested I try LoSeasonique to avoid the PMS. I must say I was very scared because of all the negative reviews I found on the internet. I am happy to say it has been eight weeks, and I am symptom-free, no spotting, and best of all, no PMS. One important thing I do is to stick to my 10 pm schedule every day. I noticed they stressed this in the pamphlet, which made me concerned things might go wrong if I did not follow. Overall, I am very pleased, especially since I have not taken any painkillers the entire time. Hope this helps."

For Birth Control "I am 19 years old, and I have been taking Lutera for about seven months now. I have had hormonal problems and have noticed that this is a great solution. The pills are small and easy to take along with my other medications. The first two months of taking it, I felt pretty nauseous, and my breasts were a little tender. I started having sex about five months ago, and I was very nervous at first about getting pregnant, however, after being on this contraception, I am confident that this is a genuinely effective pill to take. For Birth Control "Had the most awful experience with Marlissa. Took it every day at the same time, and the first week was fine. Noticed boobs got larger, but not painful. Second week, and I started getting gassy. I'm a very healthy, fit, slim 34-year-old female who eats a vegetarian diet. I don't know this problem at all. Third week, and the bloating got so severe that I couldn't work out anymore, the pain from the pressure made me scream when I tried to push on the toilet. I became sick to my stomach and threw up several times a day. I missed days at work, couldn't eat anything anymore, even drinking water caused me to throw up. My blood pressure was so low that I had to stay in bed, or I would have passed out. Immediately stopped taking it, but symptoms persisted for two more days. Absolutely horrible!"

For Birth Control "I used to get extremely heavy periods and very severe cramps, and I was looking for a birth control pill that would help with it. My OB/GYN prescribed me Orsythia, and I was a little worried about side effects from what I've read online from others. But, I had none! No weight gain, mood swings, acne, or nausea! Nothing at all! My problems with cramps and heavy periods went away within three months, and there was a definite improvement right when I started taking it. No more cramps or acne, and my periods are now super light! I can't speak for everyone, since hormone pills will affect everyone differently, but this pill was a perfect match for me! I'd highly recommend it for birth control and managing difficult periods."

For Birth Control "I've taken this for over a year, and I love it! My boobs have grown, and I've stayed my moderate weight. Mood swings? Eh, not really. We all get emotional on our periods. Birth control is not 100% effective, but this thing works! I was with my boyfriend for 6 months of the year. We never used a condom, and he came in me. Never got pregnant. The best thing is this helps so much with my periods. Less cramping. Before, I'd be nauseous to the point I'd sometimes throw up, stay up hours in so much abdominal pain. For Birth Control "I’ve only been on this pill, Sronyx, for 6 weeks and am choosing to stop taking this pill. In the beginning, I was nauseous, leg pain, face broke out, and I grew some brown spots that don’t exactly look like moles. I bled irregularly for the first 2-3 weeks and then did not get my period at all the first month. My libido is up, but I have a hard time to orgasm. Then the pain that started in my lower leg slowly crept up to my thigh, it randomly hurts and feels deep, massaging does not help. I am now getting pains in my arms and neck and will no longer take this garbage. WAY too many side effects for me! And I’m scared it could be an embolism and kill me... ABSOLUTELY NOT WORTH TAKING! I read the insert, I read what the website says, and they make many of these symptoms seem incredibly minimal... so why did I get so many so fast? I’m done! Change your birth control!"

For Birth Control "This birth control, Balcoltra, sucks. I was off of BC for 2 years because the brand I was on (Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo) was discontinued. Pharmacy switched me to Lo Sprintec, and that also sucked, so I stopped altogether. Anyway, had a pregnancy scare and decided to give BC another chance. My OBGYN said this was a mild, low-dose BC and shouldn’t give me any side effects. WRONG. I threw up every day (took it before bed), had constant dizzy spells that rolled over to the next day, and the worst of all were mood swings. Not only did I almost break up with my boyfriend, but I cried and almost put my fist through a wall over a text message. Safe to say that only lasted 5 days before calling it quits. My suggestion? Don’t try it, I get everyone’s bodies work differently—which is why I ignored the reviews and tried it anyway. Boy, was I wrong. To put it simply—don’t do it. You’re welcome."

For Birth Control "This pill, Aviane, works as a birth control, and it made my periods super short and super light, and cramps disappeared. That being said, there were a lot of cons associated with this: headaches, nausea, weight gain, acne, acne, acne (my skin was clear before this), and crazy anxiety, depression, and mood swings. I would not recommend. Going to switch back to Ortho Cyclen."

For Birth Control "I'm 19, and I started taking Lutera 4 months ago. It's been working pretty well for me, but I had a horrible period, mood swings, and nausea in the first month I took it. After that, my periods were light, and the only side effect that stuck around was some breast tenderness and mild cramping on the first day of my period. Also, it caused my breasts to grow larger, even though I weigh the same as when I started it. It's a great birth control pill once you get past the first few weeks."

For Birth Control "I was switched to Portia after Levora was discontinued. TLDR: It was not a cute look. I experienced wild physical side effects that I had not experienced with Levora. 1) My skin broke out into more acne than it has in years, and my cheeks were constantly red. 2) I started Portia the same time I got back into my old cardio routine and clean diet that typically maintains my weight. THIS BIRTH CONTROL MADE ME GAIN 20 POUNDS in a month. And I'm 23, so it's not because my metabolism is slowing down. 3) I'm bloated ALL the time and hate how this medication gives me a perpetual food baby. 4) I'm constantly nauseous. 5) But I'm also constantly hungry. Now for the psychological symptoms: 6) I got depressed so easily and intensely, in a way that I had never been before and ended up being sent to the psychiatric ward for the first time."

For Birth Control "I was getting the Depo-Provera shot consistently for 2 years and I got pregnant. I decided to get a medical abortion (the pill) and the doctor prescribed me Larissia. I cannot comment much about the first 2 weeks because I was bleeding heavily due to the abortion. My face cleared up a lot in the 6 months I have been taking it. I have not gained any weight and have not experienced nausea. I do have fibroids on my ovaries causing extremely painful periods. While taking this birth control, I have not had a single cramp while menstruating. In addition, I have not gotten pregnant on it, so it seems to be working. Everyone's bodies are different, so please keep that in mind. Also, people are quick to report the negative and are not so quick to report the positive. So please keep that in mind when reading all of the comments."

For Birth Control "This was the first birth control that I've ever tried, and I've honestly experienced no problems with it. I had mild nausea for the first two months and an irregular period, but my body quickly adjusted to it. I think that all of the bad reviews on here are from people whose body was just so adjusted to that other pill that they just couldn't take this one. For Birth Control "I’m 40, and my doctor recommended that I try birth control to help control mid-cycle bleeding and horrible periods. I took this birth control for the first month and was so sick every day for that entire month. I was nauseous, bloated, anxious, and had a headache that I just couldn’t shake. It increased my acid reflux to the point that I had to sleep sitting up. I took two pills from the second pack and then threw them out. Best thing I ever did! I’d rather deal with two days of bad period cramps and one day of mid-cycle bleeding than having to deal with the side effects from this birth control! One and only positive: my period didn’t require super absorbency tampons, and my cramps were not as bad."

For Birth Control "First couple weeks I had some nausea and first couple months I had some spotting, nothing a panty-liner couldn't fix. This has been a life-changer. No more painful periods and bloody messes. It cleared up my acne. My skin hasn't looked this good in decades! I haven't gained any weight and my mood hasn't been affected. No headaches or side effects now. I love this stuff. I take it continuously so I don't get a period. I'm 43 and started this about 7 months ago. I should have been on it for the past 30 years!"

For Birth Control "I feel very passionate about this pill, so I thought I’d leave this comment. I can’t help but cry because of this pill. I’ve been on it for around 4 months now, my body seemed to be getting used to it, but I still find myself throwing up and feeling nauseous when I least expect it. On top of that, I’ve had around 3-4 yeast infections since taking this pill, and it’s a literal nightmare. I’m so frustrated with my doctor and this stupid pill."
