For Birth Control "I am on Alesse 28 for 3 months now (I usually skip the sugar pills). I don't have any problems with it. No spotting, just a little nausea for the first 2 days, but that's it. I didn't gain any weight, nor did I lose any. My breasts did go up one cup size. I was sexually active during my 2nd month, and I continued to menstruate as indicated in my pamphlet I had received with my prescription. It works, and I'm happy. It gives me peace of mind."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I was prescribed Sronyx as a way to control the amount of blood I lose during my very heavy periods. I have been on it for about 5 months now, and here is my experience with it. I feel very normal taking this pill. About Me: - Age: 24 - Weight: 105 - Ethnicity: Hispanic - Sexually Active - I eat healthy - Little to Moderate Exercise My Experience: - Period was lighter after 1st month and has continued to stay light. I used to bleed for 5-6 days heavily and get severe cramps. Now my periods are light and will last 3 days. I still get light cramps. - I have not gained weight. - Skin cleared up - No mood swings or depression. - Sex drive has not changed. - On occasions, I will experience nausea after I eat. - I still PMS - NO 'breakthrough bleeding.'"

For Birth Control "3 days ago I started taking Lutera (birth control). The first day I was “okay,” but I started feeling super sick and only got sicker to the point where I thought I was going to end up going to the ER. I have had the most HORRIBLE symptoms ever, and I refuse to take them. PLEASE!!!! Do NOT trust ANY birth control company. Worst idea I have ever had... You do not know what you are actually putting in your body. I am still in bed recovering from stomach aches, heartburn, muscle pain, body aches, fevers, vomiting, nausea, even the sun being too bright hurts my eyes and loss of hearing.... LITERALLY in 3 days.... I also read about a lady with similar symptoms that continued to take it for a month and she had hair loss. Please, please be careful ladies!❤️"

For Premenstrual Syndrome "I’m starting my 3rd month on this pill and am using it to treat PMDD. I take the pills continuously, only the active ones. The first two weeks I had a few mood swings (nothing like PMDD, so manageable), chills, and nausea rarely. I used to get menstrual migraines every month and still do, but am hoping those go away as my body adjusts. I’ve been spotting for 2-3 weeks and hope that will go away too. Most importantly, I haven’t had PMDD in two months!! This is life-changing, and the side effects of spotting and one pimple here and there are 100% worth it to me."

For Birth Control "Most of these reviews are terrifying, so I wanted to share my experience... 1) One of the biggest differences with tricyclic BC (3 months) from the once-a-month kind is the likelihood of spotting is much greater. On the first pack, I spotted months 2-3. (Yep.. 2 months pretty much). That being said, it was so light I could've probably used the same panty liner all day and been fine. Also, my BF isn't a child and wasn't bothered by it. I found it mostly annoying. The second pack, I'm still spotting, but only for 1 month, also very light. I suspect it will not happen on the next pack. Minor nausea was my only other side effect. No libido change, no weight gain, mood change, etc. Not perfect, but I love it. It's going to be different for each person."

For Birth Control "I’ve never been on birth control. I haven’t had a regular period since I was 20. I’m now 30. The first 4 days I would get nauseous for about an hour after taking it, not realizing they recommend you eat something 30 minutes before taking it...a meal or a snack like crackers and cheese...the last 3 days the nausea has faded. I did notice I was a little more emotional, but I am aware that my body is adjusting to this and learning how to act right after so long. As crazy as it sounds, I just want a normal cycle that makes me feel like an actual woman and not like something’s wrong anymore. I’ll update this if things change. Hoping it’s all smooth sailing because I have no problem stopping it cold turkey and just coping with PCOS and irregular periods."

For Birth Control "I've only been on Aubra EQ for 2 months and stopping due to a breakup, not the meds. I wanted to leave a review as I really love this one and plan to take the other packs down the road if I get to it before they expire, lol. The first two weeks I felt a bit nauseous and hormonal, wanted to eat more for sure. But I had already expected these things and it was fine, and those symptoms went away fairly quickly. I got used to it fast and gained probably 4-5 pounds in water weight but haven't gained more since, and I also just started an office job where I sit all day. Hormones have been fine and I was worried with the pandemic, etc., but it's been all good. My skin looks great, but it was never too bad anyways, and my hair actually felt more full again, probably due to estrogen in the pill, which is a major, major plus, as I'm in my mid-30s with a 2-year-old, and my hair never came back all the way after the baby. I have noticed some vaginal dryness, but nothing a little lubrication won't fix. All worth it."

For Birth Control "I'm going to give my full TMI experience on this pill because when I first started this pill, I looked up reviews and barely could find any. I started this pill 2 and 1/2 months ago. The first 24-48 hours, I was extremely nauseous and throwing up on and off. After that, I was just constantly nauseous for about a week. After that, though, everything went back to normal, and my acne even started to clear up. By the end of the first month (when I normally get my period), I had no period at all. At the end of the second month, I didn't get a full-on period, but I did experience spotting during that week. Now, I'm on my 3rd month of these pills, and I am hoping to just have a normal and short period with these pills. * While on these pills so far: I have not gained weight, however, I do bloat like crazy on this pill after eating anything. My acne has cleared up a ton, I have not had any noticeable mood changes, and I have had no period cramps so far! *"

For Birth Control "At first, I got the birth control to regulate my period because it hadn’t come in over a month, so my doctor said since I’m active, I should consider this. I started taking the pills on September 11th, and at first, I was having mood swings and nausea, but after the first couple of days, I was better. I have gained 8.3 pounds, and it’s only been 3 weeks (which I’m happy about). Coming to this site, everyone scared me with all the bad reviews, but I like this pill. I’ve had clearer skin, gained weight, and been able to keep up. I will say I have no appetite on this pill, though. I mean, I will eat a lot, get “full,” and maybe 2 hours later be starving again."

For Birth Control "I've only been on it for a month, but so far, no negative experience. I have been spotting here and there for about a week or so, but my actual period was so short compared to how it normally is! My periods are usually 6 to 7 days long, and I experience heavy bleeding, but on BC, it was much lighter and lasted about 4 days. I did experience some nausea the first week, but none after that. No noticeable weight gain yet, so so far, it's been pretty pleasant."

For Birth Control "I was switched to Vienva from Orsythia by my pharmacy last month. I called my doc to make sure it was okay, and she said yes, they have the same active ingredients and may just have some different fillers and additives, but it should not affect me. I was upset because I had been on Orsythia for 6+ months with no problems at all. I just finished my first week of Vienva and have had some side effects. I feel nauseous a lot of the time, cramps periodically, increased anxiety, no appetite, fatigue, and get dizzy at times. I wasn't able to find any reviews of Vienva on other sites, so I'm leaving my review here to hopefully help others in the same situation. I'm going to try to stick it out and see if the side effects go away after a couple of months."

For Birth Control "I've been on this birth control, Lutera, for 4 months now. I don't have any complaints about it! My skin is actually clearer than when I started, though my skin care routine is the same. I haven't gained any weight, had any nausea, mood swings, or depression. I'm a type 1 diabetic as well, and it hasn't affected my blood sugars at all."

For Birth Control "I've been on this pill for 2 months now, and I'm growing to like it. During the first month, I experienced the side effects (as expected). My breasts were very swollen and VERY tender. I had to buy new bras to handle the pain. I had one day of nausea and never had issues with it again. I had migraines on and off throughout the first month, and they have gone away. Periods are much shorter, lighter, and much less painful. I have had bare sex on this pill and have not seen any signs of pregnancy. It made my face break out during the first month, however, in month 2, my skin looked WAY better. After about 3 months of taking the pill, all side effects seem to subside!"

For Birth Control "I have been on this pill for about a month. So far, I have experienced some side effects such as mild nausea the first few days I was on it, but not enough to bother me. I have had light headaches on and off, and also a change in my appetite. But my appetite actually is decreasing. While I feel hungry more often, the amount of food that it takes to make me feel full is significantly less. I feel like I am losing weight on this pill. I am hoping that the side effects go away soon. My physician said that every birth control pill will make you feel the way I do for 2-3 months until your hormone levels level out and get used to the new pill, which makes total sense. So I am not worried yet and think that this pill will work just fine for me."

For Birth Control "I am starting it tomorrow, and I am really growing increasingly nervous by every review I read. I know that every body is different, but some symptoms freak me out. I have never had any health problems or sensitivities whatsoever, I don't get nauseous easily, so I guess those won't apply to me. I hope it will be worth it. Btw, as friendly advice, try not to read up everything the internet says because you can't know for sure how your body will react to the drug, so the only way to surely find out is by simply trying it."

For Birth Control "I've been on Vienva for about 3 years now, and I couldn't be happier with it. I tried a different birth control before this, and I had horrible non-stop migraines, nausea, mood swings, the whole nine. So I stopped, and I eventually tried BC again, this time with Vienva, and everything has gone so smoothly. I'll be candid, I am taking it because I'm s- active, and take my word for it, after 3 years? It works. I would've had a few kids by now. Not everyone's body works the same. The first BC I tried was the brand my friend uses, and it works perfectly fine for her. The point is, if this one doesn't work for you, you can keep trying! Just because one pill didn't treat you well does not mean all of them won't. I found my perfect one with Vienva. 10/10 IMO."

For Ovarian Cysts "For four months, I have suffered from constant cramps, 24/7. My doctor finally took an ultrasound and found two very large cysts. One was filled with blood. He explained to me this is why I am in so much pain. I also have been experiencing other symptoms: thinning hair, low back pain/throbbing, nausea, ill feeling, facial hair, etc. I went back in, and he finally put me on birth control pills. I am 37 and taking birth control pills for the first time. I am almost two weeks into taking them, and to my relief, I have not suffered any bad side effects, but it's still early. I can only hope that this is a good sign. And I can only hope that my pain will subside and my cysts will dissolve. I have my fingers crossed. Wish me luck!"

For Birth Control "(21 yr female, 104 lbs, no kids) I’m going on my third week using Lutera birth control, and so far, I have had no major complications! The first week on the pill, I noticed minor (but bearable) side effects. My second day on the pill, I had a slight headache that wasn’t very bad. In the first week, I also experienced a bit of nausea, however, it did not result in any vomiting. I also experienced minor bloating that kind of resembled the feeling of very, very mild period cramps. The bloating did not hurt but felt a little uncomfortable, as if there was a lot of pressure in my lower stomach. I have not experienced any spotting/bleeding, weight gain, mood swings, soreness, or acne thus far while using Lutera. So far, I am satisfied with the performance of Lutera."

For Birth Control "I have been taking Aubra for about 2 years now. I got prescribed this birth control in Planned Parenthood. The nurse never told me the side effects about this pill, and let me tell you, it gave me really bad side effects. I have anxiety, gained weight, really bad mood swings, I feel nauseous. Most of the time, I am crying. I never thought this pill would make me lose myself. I have really bad depression where it has gotten to the point where I don't want to get out of bed and not even go out. I haven't gotten my period for the past 2 months. I don't recommend using Aubra."

For Birth Control "I started Lutera in January. I felt very nauseous almost all the time in the first month. My breasts grew significantly. My acne has cleared up. I did notice that I am very emotional and moody ever since I started Lutera, especially the day before my period. I'm pretty consistent with when I take the pill. I usually take it around 10-11 a.m., but for the days I almost forget and take it at night, I feel really sick the next day."

For Birth Control "Just quit Alesse after 4 months. I tried to tough it out, but it just wasn't working. I was always hungry, then I would eat and feel constantly nauseous and bloated. I had no energy and felt tired, always wanting to eat sweet stuff. Didn't really gain much weight, just water weight around my hips and boobs (those were constantly sore as well), such bad mood swings and depressed and anxious often. Got lots of headaches, acne got worse (cystic acne on my chin, back, and chest), and lower sex drive. This is my first day without birth control (period will start in a few days), and I can honestly say that I feel so much better, which is weird because Alesse is 'ultra low dose hormones.'"

For Birth Control "I switched from Levora to Portia about two months ago because Levora was discontinued. It is by far the worst two months. I have had a dramatic increase in acne. Levora really helped my acne, but with Portia, I am having constant breakouts everywhere. I have chronic headaches and feel very nauseous in the mornings. I feel an increase in my appetite. I tend to feel very down most of the time-sad for no reason. I am very unhappy being on this birth control."

For Birth Control "DO NOT EVER TAKE THIS MEDICATION! I've been on this for two weeks, and it's been two weeks of HELL! My anxiety is through the roof, I'm overly emotional and cry all the time. (No suicidal thoughts though.) This pill will make you feel like you have food poisoning or the stomach flu or something. I have headaches, dizziness, an indigestion/heartburn-type feeling -- I just have this bizarre feeling near my upper stomach/diaphragm, I can't even describe it. I'm constantly gassy, whether it's through burping or passing gas, stomach cramps and pain, back pain down in and near my pelvis, pain in my lower right abdomen. No appetite. The side effects are worse when I'm at work, which makes it very hard to stay at work. Wicked nausea!"

For Birth Control "This is my first time taking any sort of birth control, and so the NP prescribed me Lutera. I guess since it's easy to take and it's a low dosage of hormones. It's been a week for me so far, and I've had little to no side effects. I was a little moody the first day and the second day, but after that, I felt normal. I don't feel like I need to eat often or more, and I have no nausea/dizziness or headaches. The first day I got my pills, I looked online to see the reviews for Lutera, and I was shocked and a little concerned when reading all the bad reviews. I'm not anymore because it seems like Lutera is right for me. And not one pill is right for everyone, I think girls should know that."

For Birth Control "I am highly surprised at all the negative reviews of this pill. It's unfortunate that so many women have had a negative experience with this. As for me, this is by far one of the best birth control pills I have ever taken. I started taking this three months ago as a form of cycle control. I skipped the placebo pills for the last three months. Honestly, I haven't had any issues with mood swings, in fact, I felt happier, which is an interesting side effect. Normally, when I start a pill pack, the first three days are extremely nauseating. With this pill pack, I did not have any nausea. I also had an extremely high sex drive. Based on my experience, I would recommend them to a friend. Glad I didn't read the reviews first, or else I would've turned them down. Keep an open mind, everybody's body will react differently."
