For Birth Control "I have been on Lutera now for 8 months, and it has made a very positive difference in my life. This was my first time going on birth control, and it was originally because I had such horrible headaches and cramps, but now I have a lighter period, headaches and cramps are rare, and I don't get depressed every month. Overall, it has worked really well for me. The only downside is having to remember to take it at the same time every day... and for the first week or two, I just felt a little off and had some headaches and breast tenderness. Everyone is different, but after my experience, I would recommend Lutera."

For Birth Control "This pill, Aviane, works as a birth control, and it made my periods super short and super light, and cramps disappeared. That being said, there were a lot of cons associated with this: headaches, nausea, weight gain, acne, acne, acne (my skin was clear before this), and crazy anxiety, depression, and mood swings. I would not recommend. Going to switch back to Ortho Cyclen."

For Birth Control "My previous birth control worked wonderfully, beautiful skin, and I did not get pregnant. However, my PMS became difficult to deal with, headaches, nausea, and fatigue. My doctor suggested I try LoSeasonique to avoid the PMS. I must say I was very scared because of all the negative reviews I found on the internet. I am happy to say it has been eight weeks, and I am symptom-free, no spotting, and best of all, no PMS. One important thing I do is to stick to my 10 pm schedule every day. I noticed they stressed this in the pamphlet, which made me concerned things might go wrong if I did not follow. Overall, I am very pleased, especially since I have not taken any painkillers the entire time. Hope this helps."

For Birth Control "This birth control is horrible. I bled for the entire 4 months I was on this, and it gave me my first yeast infection ever. I have never had issues with dryness, itching, or irritation, or any kind of infections until this horrible medication. I am still recovering from these issues this medication caused after being completely off it for 2 weeks. I was extremely moody and sad. I'm not one who really gets headaches, but I had horrible headaches when I was taking Vienva. I had to take 3 prescription medications to counteract the side effects this birth control gave me."

For Birth Control "I'm currently on my third pack of the generic version Alysena 28, and there are basically no side effects for me anymore. I did have spotting like every day for the whole first pack when I started it, but that went away. Also, I think it increased my anxiety a bit for the first few months, but that also went away. The only things I still notice are headaches on the placebo pills and sore boobs, but other than that, it's good, just takes some time getting used to. Also, this was just my experience, and it affects everyone differently!"

For Birth Control "I've been on Seasonale for almost a year. I didn't experience any negative side effects, such as weight gain, headaches, or decreased sex drive, however, I have had a fair amount of breakthrough bleeding. In one cycle, the breakthrough bleeding lasted for over two weeks until it was finally time to take the placebo pills. Every other 3-month cycle, I get breakthrough bleeding for about a week, and it's heavy enough to be a period. It's typically successful in preventing a period for a month and a half to two months, but at that point, it doesn't seem like it's strong enough to override my natural hormones."

For Endometriosis "Levlen is the worst thing that ever happened to me! I was on Norimin-1, but as a result of COVID, they were unable to import the ingredients for it. My doctor then switched me to Levlen... worst thing ever. After 3 weeks of use, I had severe hormonal acne all along my jawline. The pressure from the acne hurts my face (I’ve never ever had any issues with my skin). I thought this may be just because of a hormonal change from trying a new pill. After 3 months, it became worse and worse. Never have I had severe headaches, but daily I now have severe headaches that come out of nowhere. I have severe depression now from this pill, my mood swings are absolutely insane."

For Birth Control "I’m 40, and my doctor recommended that I try birth control to help control mid-cycle bleeding and horrible periods. I took this birth control for the first month and was so sick every day for that entire month. I was nauseous, bloated, anxious, and had a headache that I just couldn’t shake. It increased my acid reflux to the point that I had to sleep sitting up. I took two pills from the second pack and then threw them out. Best thing I ever did! I’d rather deal with two days of bad period cramps and one day of mid-cycle bleeding than having to deal with the side effects from this birth control! One and only positive: my period didn’t require super absorbency tampons, and my cramps were not as bad."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "Pluses: clear skin, no mood swings or headaches. BUT, at first, I spotted every day for months. Light enough for a pantyliner. My period stopped for a while, went fine. Then, with no warning, I would have gigantic clots and blood gushing when I stood up. Then later on in the day and the next day... nothing. Happened a few times. Last straw: family goes to Disney World for the first time. Second day I’m walking around the park then stand up, start gushing blood. I spend the whole time afraid to stand because I’m going through a tampon and pad every hour. Next day nothing. Fourth day at Disney, same heavy gushing and clotting. Airport gushing. Arrive home, bleeding lightens. Then I stand up, heaviest bleeding ever! Soaked through a super tampon, pad, my underwear, pants were soaked with blood and it stained my bed. I am 39 years old and this didn’t happen before Jolessa. I had heavy periods but not random hemorrhaging in between cycles. I have stopped this birth control and my provider is trying me on something different!"

For Birth Control "I have only been on it for a little over a month. It's the first birth control I've been on, so I was new to side effects. I finally realized my mood swings are huge. I find myself very emotional and depressed, and minutes later I'm beyond happy. I do get headaches quite a bit, but it can be from something totally different. I feel like I've gained a little bit of weight, but I can't blame anything but myself. I don't think it's a horrible pill, it just affects me badly."

For Birth Control "So Larissia is my first birth control, and I read all of the side effects before use. I have been having a terrible time, I am two weeks in so far. My head always hurts, I feel sick for at least 3 hours after I take it, and I get crazy mood swings. I’m trying to stick it out until 1-3 months to see if it gets better, but so far I do not recommend. Anybody have any ideas for a new one? Though I know it tells you all the side effects, this is the worst I've ever felt, but hopefully it doesn't last."

For Birth Control "I've been on Jolessa for 6 months. I decided to try this because I get bad headaches during my period (even though they'd only last 3 days, 4 days at most), and I wanted to avoid it altogether. The first two months, it was great. Then my period arrived a month early, and the bleeding lasted for 25 days, mostly light. I had already picked up my next 90-day pack, so I figured I'd try to get through that, and if I still had the bleeding, I'd talk to my doctor about another birth control. No need to do that because Jolessa is now working perfectly for me. It's been wonderful not having a period for a few months. I'd recommend this birth control to anyone."

For Birth Control "I have been on this pill for about a month. So far, I have experienced some side effects such as mild nausea the first few days I was on it, but not enough to bother me. I have had light headaches on and off, and also a change in my appetite. But my appetite actually is decreasing. While I feel hungry more often, the amount of food that it takes to make me feel full is significantly less. I feel like I am losing weight on this pill. I am hoping that the side effects go away soon. My physician said that every birth control pill will make you feel the way I do for 2-3 months until your hormone levels level out and get used to the new pill, which makes total sense. So I am not worried yet and think that this pill will work just fine for me."

For Birth Control "I’ve been on this Lessina birth control pill for about a year. At first, I did have slight headaches, but they eventually went away. I do think it has increased my likeliness to get UTIs, though. Overall, I gained about 20 lbs in a year, but it all went to my thighs and butt. I would say this is great and will continue on it."

For Birth Control "I was very excited to start this and get a hold of my endometriosis, but as soon as I started this, I started breaking out, gaining weight, couldn’t sleep anymore, my anxiety became so much worse than it had been, bleeding every day, cramping off and on, and headaches. It has made me feel crazy, and I just stopped taking it. I’m praying this goes away fast. I am highly disappointed."

For Birth Control "I've just completed my first week on Orsythia. Being that I had to start it during my period, I noticed a change in my cycle immediately. I'm usually a 3/4 day-er. I am now on my 7th day with no sign of let-up. That's a bummer. From what I've gathered from friends/family, it's just my body getting used to the hormones. But when is it going to end? No cramps, no mood swings, no headaches, and FREE! I guess, so far, so good. Just ready to be off my period!"

For Birth Control "Just quit Alesse after 4 months. I tried to tough it out, but it just wasn't working. I was always hungry, then I would eat and feel constantly nauseous and bloated. I had no energy and felt tired, always wanting to eat sweet stuff. Didn't really gain much weight, just water weight around my hips and boobs (those were constantly sore as well), such bad mood swings and depressed and anxious often. Got lots of headaches, acne got worse (cystic acne on my chin, back, and chest), and lower sex drive. This is my first day without birth control (period will start in a few days), and I can honestly say that I feel so much better, which is weird because Alesse is 'ultra low dose hormones.'"

For Birth Control "(21 yr female, 104 lbs, no kids) I’m going on my third week using Lutera birth control, and so far, I have had no major complications! The first week on the pill, I noticed minor (but bearable) side effects. My second day on the pill, I had a slight headache that wasn’t very bad. In the first week, I also experienced a bit of nausea, however, it did not result in any vomiting. I also experienced minor bloating that kind of resembled the feeling of very, very mild period cramps. The bloating did not hurt but felt a little uncomfortable, as if there was a lot of pressure in my lower stomach. I have not experienced any spotting/bleeding, weight gain, mood swings, soreness, or acne thus far while using Lutera. So far, I am satisfied with the performance of Lutera."

"I am a perimenopausal 48-year-old woman with a history of severe PMS and endometriosis. Tried other birth control pills. GYN just started me on Balcoltra three days ago. For three days, I woke with a terrible headache - a migraine. Nothing else has changed, so I can only contribute this to the Balcoltra. I can't take this. Stopping after only 3 days. What the heck. Anyone else?"

For Birth Control "I haven’t seen many recent reviews on this and wanted to share my thoughts. I’ve been on this pill to prevent pregnancy for 3 years now. After reading reviews, I’m very interested as some of my bad symptoms line up with others. So positives first, I did not get pregnant - unprotected (other than the pill) for 3 years. I also had MUCH lighter periods. 3 days total of bleeding, very light bleeding, and only cramps on one day. I was very regular and on time with these meds. In the last few years, I’ve been getting really bad headaches as well as acne (which I never ever had). I never linked the two things together for some reason, but realized it’s a strong possibility those things could be from the meds. I also gained probably 10 pounds on this medicine; I hold water like CRAZY. Overall, as long as you don’t mind the side effects, this one really did the job for me when it comes to staying un-pregnant. Hope this helps!!!"

For Birth Control "This is my first time taking any sort of birth control, and so the NP prescribed me Lutera. I guess since it's easy to take and it's a low dosage of hormones. It's been a week for me so far, and I've had little to no side effects. I was a little moody the first day and the second day, but after that, I felt normal. I don't feel like I need to eat often or more, and I have no nausea/dizziness or headaches. The first day I got my pills, I looked online to see the reviews for Lutera, and I was shocked and a little concerned when reading all the bad reviews. I'm not anymore because it seems like Lutera is right for me. And not one pill is right for everyone, I think girls should know that."

For Birth Control "I switched from Levora to Portia about two months ago because Levora was discontinued. It is by far the worst two months. I have had a dramatic increase in acne. Levora really helped my acne, but with Portia, I am having constant breakouts everywhere. I have chronic headaches and feel very nauseous in the mornings. I feel an increase in my appetite. I tend to feel very down most of the time-sad for no reason. I am very unhappy being on this birth control."

For Birth Control "DO NOT EVER TAKE THIS MEDICATION! I've been on this for two weeks, and it's been two weeks of HELL! My anxiety is through the roof, I'm overly emotional and cry all the time. (No suicidal thoughts though.) This pill will make you feel like you have food poisoning or the stomach flu or something. I have headaches, dizziness, an indigestion/heartburn-type feeling -- I just have this bizarre feeling near my upper stomach/diaphragm, I can't even describe it. I'm constantly gassy, whether it's through burping or passing gas, stomach cramps and pain, back pain down in and near my pelvis, pain in my lower right abdomen. No appetite. The side effects are worse when I'm at work, which makes it very hard to stay at work. Wicked nausea!"

For Birth Control "This is the best birth control pill ever! I wanted to share my experience with everyone because after choosing the wrong pill before, I realized how important it is to search to find the right pill. I'm on my 3rd month so far, and I see no effect on myself. My weight is the same, my skin is the same, I don't have nausea or a headache (as I experienced on my previous pill called Esme). My mood is normal, as I am as usual. I loved this pill because I see no effect. So, I can move on with my life like I'm not on a pill. I started this pill after reading so many good comments about it, and I definitely recommend it!!!"

For Birth Control "I have been on this birth control for about 3 months now. The first month was fine. Last month, I started developing horrible boob pain and veins coursing all over them. Then I noticed spider veins on my hips and then on my butt. I have occasional leg pains. I’m wondering if anyone else has experienced this? I also have headaches, occasional nausea, lacking motivation, really bad appetite changes (one day super hungry, the next day don’t want to eat), starting to feel depressed, and anxiety increasing by a ton. I just feel generally tired and am thinking of switching pills."
