For Birth Control "Do not take it! I was recently misdiagnosed with PMDD because I was having severe mood swings, headaches, anxiety, depression, etc. Because of those effects, my OB put me on SSRIs on top of this birth control, diagnosing me with PMDD. Only to find out months later that those and Lutera were literally making me crazy. I was taken to the ER when I had a severe panic attack the other day and followed up with my primary doctor. She took me off the antidepressants and also took me off Lutera, explaining Lutera was the cause of it all. That I more than likely do not have PMDD and that I should have been given a different birth control by my OB long ago instead of misdiagnosis."

For Birth Control "I have had the Implanon rod in my arm for two years. It made me have a period for 19 days and off for about 4 to 5. My hair was falling out, horrible cramps, and bad headaches. I have switched over to the Lutera pill, and instantly it has made a difference. I did have a little bit of tenderness in my breasts. Yes, I crave sweets. But who doesn't? My periods come the same day every month and are light and easy. I love this product. For the past six months, it has been good to me."

For Birth Control "I've been on this medication for about 5 months now. It instantaneously changed my appetite. I've been eating constantly and have gained about 10 pounds since I went on it. I was about 120 before and am now about 130. I was extremely moody the first few weeks I went on Lutera, but my mood has evened out a bit since then, although it's not completely back to normal. My acne has cleared up a lot, which is nice. Haven't gotten pregnant, so that's a bonus. I've gotten headaches while on Lutera, sometimes they get pretty bad. My periods are lighter, and my cramps don't hurt nearly as bad. I like this birth control and plan to keep on using it."

For Birth Control "I've been taking this pill for about 3 months now. My mood swings are crazy. I cry over the smallest things, get irritated fast, felt weight gain, and my sex drive is crazy to the point I want it all the time. In the beginning, I've experienced headaches, not too bad though. Before the pill, I had Depo-Provera, that made me crazy! Also, I lost weight on the Depo. On this pill, I've experienced very much laziness! I'm thinking of switching my birth control, but don't know what to get."

For Birth Control "I just started taking it. I am on the last row of my first pack. I have been having a huge amount of brown or red discharge/blood. I have had headaches, nausea, breast tenderness, back acne, everything. I think it's because I'm taking a lower dose of it like levonorgestrel 0.1 mg and ethinyl estradiol 0.02 mg, so next time at the doctor's, I will get a high dose."

For Birth Control "I have been on Lutera for 2 months. The only bad side effect I'm having is horrible cramps during my period. I've had a baby before, and the cramps feel like early or Braxton Hicks contractions. The bleeding is light. No acne, breakthrough bleeding, or decreased sex drive. The other side effects, like dry eyes with contacts and nausea here and there, are bearable. I just wear my glasses sometimes. I haven't had any weight gain. I had a really bad headache before this period, and it lasted about a day or so. Other than that, I'm satisfied with the pill. It's doing the job of keeping me from getting pregnant."

For Birth Control "I've been taking Lutera tablets for about a month now. I've never felt this bad. Every day I feel nauseous, weak, headaches, heart palpitations, and somewhat down. I've been a lot more sensitive to things that I would normally be able to handle without a hassle. I feel dizzy and weak most of the day, and with two kids to care for, we all know that it doesn't matter if we are sick; we still have to be responsible and care for them. I am waiting on my doctor to call me back tomorrow to see if it's best that I switch to a lighter dosage or to my previous birth control pills, for which I had no side effects. Hope this helps someone out there. God bless you!!!"

For Birth Control "I've been on my fair share of generic prescriptions for birth control. And I also prefer to take the pill form ONLY. Lutera was the fourth one I have been on, but only the second generic brand. And I, for one, am NOT a fan. Had spotting for an entire month and a half when I first swapped to this pill, and I also didn't have a period after the first two packs (due to the spotting). I have gotten five migraines in the second month (migraines are rare for me), and every day I would have a mild headache, it was annoying. Also, I've felt dizzy right with my headache. It was hard to stay focused at work. On my third pack, I wasn't spotting at all, but that's also when I received my first period. The cramps were excruciatingly intense. I'm 29, so this says a lot."

For Birth Control "Before getting on BC, I was absolutely terrified because of the side effects and all the god-awful reviews. I've been on Lutera now for 2 months, which isn't a very long time, but I wanted to still give my review. My body might start to react differently in the later future, but if it stays at where it's at now, I'll be so, so happy. My period is much lighter, cramps are the same, I haven't bloated like a balloon, etc. I always experienced mood swings during my periods, and I think I'm just about the same with birth control, no more, no less (yoga helps a LOT with my insane moods). Sometimes I'll get a headache from the pill, but it lasts about half an hour. My boobs are pretty sore here and there after taking the pill. Nothing else!"

For Birth Control "I started with Ortho Tri-Cyclen and only switched because of breakthrough bleeding. I am currently on day 40. The first two weeks, I noticed nausea, listlessness, and mild depression, but thought nothing of it because I was starting a new dose of hormones. No breakouts, weight gain, or bleeding. Week one in the second pack, the nausea was back and accompanied by headaches. I noticed myself starting to get depressed again, and my anxiety was constant all day. I went through a spell and cried for two and a half days in a row. I then knew it was definitely hormone-related because nothing was even wrong. This almost cost me my relationship."

For Endometriosis "I've been on this pill for a few months. It's been great. Regulated my period, made it lighter and shorter, reduced cramping and PMS symptoms. Occasionally during month one, I had some headaches. Otherwise, no side effects."

For Birth Control "I was only on Lutera birth control pill for a week, and it was enough to stop taking them. The first side effect that I experienced were headaches and stomach cramps that went from bad to worse, and it caused me restless nights. I also experienced nausea, fatigue, blurry vision when my contacts were in, loss of appetite, and a change in mood. I’m getting married this week, and I was happy before I started taking these pills. I’m getting married in 24 hours, and now I feel completely depressed, and I’m crying for no reason at all. They say it goes away after 3 months, but there is no way I am going to feel this way or worse for 3 months. The side effects from Lutera are not worth taking it. I am calling the doctor today and getting off of it."

For Birth Control "I've been on the pill for almost a month since July 2nd, and I scheduled an appointment with my OBGYN today due to this contraceptive causing lots of bleeding. I started on the first day I bled from my last period, and it's July 28th, and I am currently still on my period. My doctor prescribed me Lo Loestrin now, and I hope it helps me out. But with Lutera, it was a horrible experience. Lots of headaches, low sex drive, MANY mood swings/depression. I got into many, many arguments with my boyfriend this month, and I had my relationship in danger!"

For Birth Control "I started it a month and a half ago, and I am experiencing really bad headaches and stomach aches, but I believe this is quite normal when you start out on birth control. But one thing is my acne (or red spots). I had really clear skin with an occasional breakout, maybe a couple times a month, but nothing bad at all. And now that I'm taking Lutera, I've formed these really itchy red spots all over my cheeks and forehead. It feels and looks like cystic acne, and I hate it. I'm considering switching."

For Birth Control "I love this birth control! I've tried several others (Lo Loestrin, etc.), but this product has been remarkably consistent for me with few, if any, side effects. Occasionally, if I miss a pill by more than a few hours, I might have some spotting, and on the first day I take the pill, I sometimes have a slight headache and find myself a little moodier. But honestly, compared to the other products, which have given me acne, mood swings, nausea, and other problems, I would take the few mild symptoms from this product in a heartbeat. Highly recommended!"

For Birth Control "I was taking Aviane before and transferred my prescription to a different pharmacy. There, they gave me Lutera since they did not have Aviane... Worst experience of my life. Constant headaches and acne were the main symptoms right before my period. Extremely painful periods as well. If you are experiencing these symptoms while on Lutera, I would highly recommend trying Aviane. I do not have any headaches or acne, and my periods are pain-free."

For Birth Control "I was on this pill for 1-2 years, recently, I just decided to do away with it. At first, I thought there was something wrong with me, but now that I’m off it, I know it was the pill causing this. On the pill, I would have horrible headaches (almost every day), hot flashes, nausea, vomiting, and dizziness-this was the WORST... when I felt it coming, I would need to sit down immediately! I would start feeling hot, I couldn’t stand up, and my vision would go completely white. So many things happened on this pill, but to say the least, dizziness and headaches are what I experienced the MOST. The side effects just weren’t worth it, now that I’m off it, a lot of the side effects have vanished, and I feel like I have more energy. For the birth control concept, though, it did its job. Also, with my period, it’s always been heavy, I've seen some people saying it’s made theirs lighter, but mine was still heavy as usual. Overall, I wouldn’t go back on this pill."

For Birth Control "This was my first time on any birth control, and I did not have a good experience. This birth control made me nauseous, gave me headaches, caused me to gain weight, gave me horrible breakouts, and even made me sick. I took this for less than a week, I will never recommend this to somebody. I was put on this by my doctor, so I hadn't had a chance to look it up before I got on it. This is not a thing I will take again or give another chance. I suggest trying something different."

For Birth Control "The worst! I've been on Lutera for over two years. While taking this birth control, I experience headaches, mood swings, depression, weight gain, a drop in sex drive, and extremely long periods. My period will last 8-9 days with occasional spotting between periods and other months 3-4 weeks (maybe 3 times since I started 2 years ago). I was told this would make my period lighter... Yeah, not as heavy but longer :( After the 1st year, I spoke with my OB to make sure I didn't have any issues like fibroids, etc. And everything was normal, so I decided to keep trying Lutera in the hopes my body would adjust. Boy, was I wrong. The only pro is I'm not pregnant :) I'm definitely switching birth control #2years2long."
