For Birth Control "I was on this pill for about a year, 6 years ago. Everything was fine. I started taking it again for about 8 months. When I started it, I was very emotional and sensitive to basically anything. Then I've had random spotting (dark brown) for about 2-3 weeks. This has happened twice in the 8 months I've been on. I've decided to stop taking this pill and try something else."

For Birth Control "First month on this birth control, and so far I'm really enjoying it. I hope it stays this way (I've tried two other pills and an IUD and quit them all in less than two weeks). Only complaints are I have some water retention, some new acne that I normally don't get, and I'm a bit more emotional and have angry outbursts (basically, what I have during/before my period, but a bit more exaggerated with this pill). Plus, my period has been going on for three weeks now on this pill with no sign of stopping. I assume once my period is over, it'll all balance out. I'd recommend it to anyone over any other combination around. I hope it stays this good and only gets better."

For Birth Control "Changed my life. Started in high school after trying a bunch of different types that wouldn’t help much with my severe blood loss and acne. My doctor recommended this pill to me to stop my periods completely, and it does it pretty seamlessly! When I do have a period, it's light and only a few days. My skin has been combination and clear ever since, which I’m really grateful for. I can definitely notice a difference in my negative mood swings and cramps when I’m not on it. Also pretty user-friendly! I’m not the most responsible in the world, but I never usually see a difference when I accidentally miss a day or time slot."

For Birth Control "I did not voluntarily take this, my mother made me because I lost my v-card at 17, but I was fine on it for the first 4-5 months. But I always had pain in my ovary areas, but it was fine. I actually liked it because I didn't have to worry about pregnancy. Now, after 5 months, I began losing my sex drive, I couldn't get wet at all even if I was wanting sex. I began having severe mood swings and was so depressed I didn't want to be alive, and I got the ovary pains so bad I went to the emergency room, and they just said it was nothing. The day I turned 18 is the day I got off. I immediately felt better, and I even had a little sex drive. 4 months off doing FAM birth control, still going strong. But this depends on you, I liked it at first, but not in the long run."

For Endometriosis "For endometriosis, I was initially prescribed Lybrel. They stopped manufacturing, so I took Amethyst - the only listed Lybrel generic - for 3 years with side effects of breakthrough bleeding and weight gain. Three weeks ago, the pharmacy gave me this indicating Amethyst is no longer available, which isn't true. This med is horrible. I have been bleeding low flow for two weeks (no period in 5 years), cramps, abdominal bloat, and increased a cup for bra size. Quick changes! The intense mood swings - particularly into rage and depression - have been scary. By indicating Amethyst 'ONLY,' CVS will order and my Dr. called in today. Can't get off this quickly enough. Avoid if you can."

For Birth Control "I used to have debilitating cramps to the point that I would have to call into work. Vomiting, diarrhea, flu-like symptoms the day I started my period. Now that is pretty much all gone. Every time I start my period, it's a surprise because I don't even have cramps beforehand. My acne is better. The only negative side effect is I feel like I am much more emotional and flat-out mean when I am PMSing, and PMS seems to last a lot longer than it used to. I also gained 10 lb, but that could totally just be my bad eating habits."
