For Birth Control "Almost a year ago, switched to Chateal. It's really hard to tell if it was good or bad. Generally, it was fine: I had sex drive, never had any major issues, my periods got much lighter, although not shorter (a week exactly). So it wasn't bad at all. At the same time, for the past 6 months I was constantly struggling with cytolytic vaginosis. It would leave me dry, cause irritation inside to the point I couldn't have sex for days, give me some not-terrible but excessive discharge. I decided to switch because at a certain point, I lost sex drive, got pretty depressed (I definitely had reasons to be so, but not to this extent). My nipples would get so sensitive that I couldn't even accidentally lightly touch them. That's where I decided to switch to a lower dose of hormones, and so far so good. For me, it was not a bad birth control. It was mostly smooth. I guess you should just always keep in mind that it can change at any point, and you will need to switch."

For Birth Control "I started taking this birth control, Chateal EQ, for about a year, taking about a month of a break from it in between every 5 months. Initially, I noticed some symptoms of heightened anxiety and fatigue. I started having shorter periods and less cramps during my menstruation, which was great, but I started noticing after about 2-3 months of using it that I was having severe moodiness, like depression, anxiety, and a short temper. Once I got off of the pill, I felt like myself again. This was my personal experience with this pill, and it might not be the same for everyone."

For Birth Control "So I thought I loved this BC. No side effects physically, except slight nausea when I started taking it. Then, for 3 months, I was off it just because I hadn't made had an annual and gone and picked it up. I realized I'm a DIFFERENT person!! I had been on it for 5 years and thought I was naturally a depressed, sad person. Wow, was I wrong! This birth control was making me so depressed and anxious, and I didn't even realize it until I stopped taking it. The three months off it, I was so happy and carefree and less anxious."

For Birth Control "I have been on this pill, Chateal EQ, since November, and I absolutely hate it. I have had no periods up until this month (March) - and now, mid-pill pack, I have heavy breakthrough bleeding. My sex drive is gone completely, and my vagina is very dry all the time. My nose has been stuffy since the week I began this pill. My breasts are slightly bigger, but not worth the acne I now have in my 30s (I never had acne before). The first two months gave me very deep, painful pimples, now I get small breakouts on my face and shoulders. I am very irritable and emotional, and my energy level is very low. I will be discontinuing this pill."

"I started on Chateal EQ because I was experiencing very bad PMDD symptoms. I know that Yaz is usually recommended for PMDD, but I wanted to try a more standard birth control pill first. Unlike a lot of other reviews, I really haven't experienced any negative side effects, and it definitely helps with my PMDD. During the reminder week, I have much more manageable symptoms, and no longer go into 2-week-long depression, anxiety, or rage spells. I feel like myself again. I haven't noticed any related weight gain, and I've been on the pill for 3 years at this point. I still have VERY mild PMDD symptoms, but they're finally manageable. I know a lot of women do not do well on birth control, and it won't really matter which pill they take as all of them will have negative side effects, some of them very severe. I was afraid of birth control for a while because of all the negative reviews, but I'm so glad I finally did something about my PMDD and started on Chateal EQ."

For Birth Control "Before taking the pill, I was depressed, but my depression was decreasing, meaning going away. It’s been a month since I have been taking Chateal EQ birth control, and it has made me cry out of the blue for no reason. Like, I would overthink my boyfriend is doing something, or I’ll have attitudes with him a bit. I’ve been moody as well. It also made my sex drive worse, this one time I was so dry and couldn’t get lubricated. When I was pregnant, my boobs got bigger, but since birth control, my boobs have been growing uncontrollably to the point where my regular bra size doesn’t fit me anymore. I also feel like it gave me a bad odor. I will shower, and after I dry up, I will smell myself to make sure I’m fine, but I’d smell. I’m going to stop this birth control, it makes me feel insecure about myself, which has gotten worse. My period has been normal, but it’ll go away fast."

For Birth Control "I’ve never broken out so bad and for so long. I got on this birth control in August 2024! Days after I started, my skin started flaring up. It continued to get worse and has not cleared since. It is obviously effective in terms of no baby, though. That’s the least it could do."

For Birth Control "I started this medication about 3 months ago for PCOS, and I have mixed feelings about it. On the one hand, this brought my extremely heavy, nonstop 6-month period to a complete halt within just a few days, and unlike a lot of others here, I haven't had any acne, bloating, or nausea. However, I've experienced breast tenderness to the point of being painful to the touch, especially close to my period, and I have EXTREMELY painful cramps throughout the month (maybe 1 or 2 days a week) that I didn't start having until my first period on this pill. I've also noticed a spike in irritability, though I'm not sure this pill is the cause. I suspect the cramps may be the result of my hormones being extremely imbalanced for so long, so I intend to give this product another 3 months to see what happens. If my mood worsens, or if the painful cramps persist after 6 months, then I'll definitely change meds. I would say if you use this, monitor your body and mood closely for any changes."

"I have been on the pill for about 2 months now, and many of the side effects have disappeared. When I first started taking this pill, I was nauseous and had hot flashes during the night. I was recommended this brand from my local Planned Parenthood. I wish I had done more research on brands. But after the first month of using it, many of the negative side effects were gone. It may work differently for everyone, giving different side effects. Overall, make sure to do your own research and discuss the best options with your doctor before you start the pill."

For Birth Control "I've been taking this for just over 4 months. Finally had enough and changed what I'm taking today. Pros... my boobs went up a size in the first month, so that was interesting, and I haven't gotten pregnant. All the rest of my side effects were/are cons. I have been dreadfully tired, to the point where I am taking naps whenever I can. I am not a napper, so it's weird. Also, I've had pretty bad headaches constantly (may or may not be related, but matches the timeline). I have gained 10+ lbs, and my hunger is all over the place. I also keep getting angry super fast over the dumbest things. Not like punch a wall angry, but like frustrated where I raise my voice and go on a rant. Another thing... IDK how it made my acne worse. Like cystic and tons of forehead acne."

For Birth Control "This is the worst thing that ever happened to me, it ruined my relationships! My body is still getting back to normal. I dropped those pills after 2 weeks of taking them, it was absolutely awful. The side effects I had were that I was suicidal - it is dangerous, extremely sore breasts, weight gain, etc. Please be careful! Planned Parenthood prescribed that to me, by the way, cruel people."
