"I suffered from endometriosis for 5 years or more. I was in my early 20s when I began to be unable to so much as get up from the bed. I was sick to my stomach all the time and in constant pain. I was prescribed a great deal of pain medicines and shots. I went to a different hospital one night, and they got me into surgery a week later or so. I found out mine was stage 4 (my organs were attached to the left side of my body, squeezing my organs with the scar tissue). The surgery took hours. Then I got a Lupron shot for 7 months and then was put on Aviane. I had a little breakthrough bleeding at first, but the massive pain stopped after I was on the Aviane and Lupron treatment path. Aviane is great, but it must be taken at the same time every day. Thanks."

"I used to have such severe cramps that I would occasionally vomit or be completely incapacitated for the first few days. I tried so many different things to help and was skeptical about Aviane, but not anymore. It worked. While I still experience a little pain on the first day of my period, it's nothing compared to before Aviane. I am continually impressed."

"My endometriosis was diagnosed 2 years ago. 1 year ago, I started experiencing pain during my ovulation too. My doctor recommended Aviane because it has few side effects. The first weeks, I experienced mild headaches and nausea, but the symptoms didn't bother me. I'm regular, but I didn't have my period during the 1st month of taking the pill. By my doctor's recommendation, I would only take hormones and not the placebo pills at all for 3 months. After a few weeks, my period came, more days than usual with a lot of pain. It wasn't abundant, but it wasn't spotting either. The pain during ovulation was not reduced, the headaches are the worst, and the breast pain is bad. I have mood swings, not depressing (anger episodes), and I had the worst vaginal infection ever, something very strange for me. With this coronavirus around, I was unable to see my doctor. I decided to stop taking the pills, in my case, the pain is worse than before. Maybe the pills need more time to adjust, but not thanks."

"I'm 40. I have endometriosis for the last 15 years. I had an operation once. I resisted using birth control pills after the operation, and they grew back. I had a second operation, then I had shots for a year to stay in menopause; then I started to use Aviane. Now I don't have terribly horrible pains anymore. I'm happy with the result, but I gained a lot of weight even though I do work out. But I prefer weight instead of pains. I think I still should thank Aviane."

"I've been on Aviane for almost a year now, but recently started taking it continuously because of the terrible breakouts and mood swings/depression I was having on a monthly basis around when my period would start. Pros: continuous method (for me) works well at delaying periods and not dealing with the negative, no weight gain (Sprintec made me put on a lot of weight), easy to use, milder cramps, breasts went up from C's to D's, lighter flow, prevents pregnancy. Cons (with normal use): major depression-like symptoms for 2 weeks of the month, breakouts (I can usually keep them under control), enlarged breasts, feeling tired before period week."

"I have been on this birth control for about a month and a half now. I have had some side effects within the 2nd and 3rd weeks with nausea and getting sick to my stomach after I ate, and I did get a headache here and there. I have felt slight weight gain, but nothing too noticeable, and the first few days I was a complete and total cow, but that's gone away very quickly. Otherwise, this pill is good for me. No serious side effects. I haven't had a period yet since I went on vacation and didn't want to have it because I wasn't sure what to expect, but I will have one at the end of this month. But so far, so good."

"I've been on many medicines since I found out I had endometriosis back in 2010. I've gone through six surgeries and nearly every medication out there, including IDUS, Nuva Rings, Implanon, birth control pills, shots, etc. I've been on Aviane now for seven weeks; I have bled my first three weeks into it, had two weeks of spotting, and now back to bleeding again. I have much faith that the doctor assures me that this medicine takes time to kick in. Over the last three weeks, I have gotten headaches, sick to my stomach, bleeding, odd rashes on legs/leg pain. These are very minor side effects compared to some other things I've tried. Holding out hope that this works. My opinion is everyone should give it a try. Side effects are minor compared to most."

"I took this birth control for 7 months, hoping to manage my unbearably painful periods. The first couple of months seemed okay. Periods were still painful but a bit more tolerable. By the 4th or 5th month, periods became irregular. I started spotting throughout my cycle, despite taking the pill religiously at the same time each day. Wish it would have worked better for me!"

"I started taking BCP years ago, and Aviane more recently in the past year or so for endometriosis/severe cramps while having my period. I am now pain-free, so happy!"
