"Do yourself a huge favor and stay away from this pill. I read all the terrible reviews and still went for it. I was previously on Microgestion for 6 months, it did me wonderful. When it came time to get my new packs, Planned Parenthood supposedly didn't carry it anymore. I was told Aubra was the exact same thing and wouldn't affect me differently. What a lie that was. Two weeks into my pack and I got my period again for the month. Third week and I'm having terrible cramps accompanied by more bleeding. My appetite has changed, I'm not eating much. Grateful I haven't experienced acne, mood changes, nausea, or headaches. But don't even want to chance it. Contemplating if I should throw out the pack or finish and just drop. DON'T RECOMMEND!!"

"This is my first time being on BC, I just started my third pack. Everything was fine until about two weeks ago when I started having a pretty bad constant headache and occasional migraines. I went to a walk-in, and the medication they prescribed hasn't helped at all. My anxiety and depression have gotten much worse (probably adding to the headache too). I'm not sure if I should stop taking it before seeing my primary doctor or not. I don't know, seems like it's doing more harm than good."

"I have only been on it for 2 weeks, and already I am ready to get off the pill ASAP. Already, I've had bad mood swings, gained weight, and also I'm currently experiencing the worst acne I've ever had. My acne is so bad it hurts my face so much. This is the first birth control I have ever taken. I do not plan on continuing this contraception, nor would I recommend it to anyone."

"Medication made me depressed easily over nothing, never was one for mood swings. Also, it was a constant struggle to stay awake. Period. Went from super tampons to ultra tampons, acne for the first time in my life after I decided to get off of it. And worst of all, it made sexual sensitivity numb to any stimulation. So glad to be off of this garbage."

"This birth control is alright but not what I’m looking for. It definitely didn’t help my acne, and I think it made it worse. It made my boobs tender the first month, and I never gained weight. I think I’m going to switch..."

"My experience with Aubra was horrible!!!!! I know everybody is different and maybe it works for other women better. My first week was horrible, my mood changed, I felt sad all the time, I was hungry all the time, no sleep sometimes. I said I'm okay with that, but when my period came, OMG!! Horrible. I have had 12 days with my period. I stopped using the pill, and the pain I feel right now is horrible, bleeding a lot, heavy bleeding, my hemoglobin went down, and now I'm taking pills for that. NEVER, EVER WILL I USE THIS PILL."

"I gave it a 5 because it did its main job-- 8 months in and I'm not pregnant. Even with me taking it late a few times. Otherwise, I am not a fan. The first few months were okay, except lack of sex drive. Now I feel nausea, my boobs feel and look like they do during pregnancy, and it caused me to gain some weight. I want to switch, but they all kind of suck."

"I’ve used Aubra for around 11 months now, and it has worked great for me. I used to have a lot of acne, and now my skin has cleared up with the occasional one or two pimples, but they’re barely noticeable. I also had heavy periods that would last from 7 to 9 days, and they were painful. I would have to wear both pads and tampons and change them every 2 to 4 hours depending on the day. Now my period lasts 2 to 3 days, and it’s way lighter than before. The pain is still there on the first day, but it’s not as bad. I wouldn’t recommend skipping periods, though, because the last time I did it, I bled for 2 weeks straight."

"Worst birth control I've ever taken. It makes me super depressed and emotional. I have no sex drive. It started at first to clear up my acne, but now it has increased. I thought the Depo was bad, this is worse. I have been taking it for about 3 months now, and the symptoms have been getting worse: severe nausea, headaches, and the depression has only gotten worse than before. I hate this birth control, have given it a fair shot, and it has only been making my life miserable, as well as my boyfriend's."

"I've been on this for almost two weeks, haven't seen any annoying side effects or any bleeding. I only noticed my sense of smell slightly increased. Things seem to be a little strong... other than that, it has not given me any problems, and I would recommend it. I also receive it from PPP."

"I've been taking the pill for about a year now. It's been working great so far, the only problem is the effect it has on my hormones. It's been making me crazy emotional. I've never been an angry person, but ever since I started the pill, it's so hard for me to control my anger."

"I am very happy with Aubra. At first, I experienced terrible migraines for the first few weeks, but afterwards, they went away. Similarly, with acne, I had a flare the first few weeks I used it, but afterwards, my acne has severely improved, and I've had a clear face since. Sometimes, around the time of my 'period,' I get a few blemishes, but nothing serious. To be fair, though, I never had bad acne to begin with. For the main reason, in terms of birth control, I haven't gotten pregnant, which is the best part! In addition, my cramps and periods are a lot shorter and less severe. I was afraid to try this, but overall, I would highly recommend!"

"I didn't care for all Aubra. I had headaches very often, even more so when it got close to my period. I never had headaches prior to Aubra. I had really bad anxiety... my heart would start pounding at random times for no reason... I would get extremely depressed and/or really angry when it got close to my period... my eyes got super dry and my contacts were painful to wear... And I recently got off of it, for about 2 months now, and I have a lot of side effects from quitting it as well. Wished I would have never used it to begin with."

"I'm 35 years old with 4 kids. I got Aubra birth control pills from Planned Parenthood. The first week was fantastic, but in my second week, I noticed some acne or rashes on my forehead. By the end of the second week, it spread all over my face and chest."

"I've been using this birth control pill for 2 months now. I got put on them to help with painful, heavy periods and other PMS symptoms. Well, I wanted to wait a while so I could see how my body would react to this birth control, and it hasn't been very good. I'm more depressed than ever, my libido is extremely low, and I barely climax. I cry all the time, and it's causing relationship issues. My boyfriend begs me to just throw my last pack away. It's just not compatible with me. Good luck to other users. I hope you ladies have better luck <3"

"I’ve been on this birth control for over two years, the first three months I was a bit emotional and felt nauseous, but after those three months I felt better and it wasn’t a continuous thing during those three months! It was bearable! I feel good. I'm not pregnant. I used to cramp so bad on my period that I would cry, but after taking Aubra my cramps are light and easier to deal with. Sometimes I don’t even get any, and my period is shorter! So far everything’s good and hope it’ll continue to be like this. Hopefully have a child in the future."

"I have NEVER had a negative reaction to birth control pills. I've never gained weight, felt bloated, had acne, or ANYTHING until taking Aubra. Over the last 6 years, I've tried at least 7 different pills, and this is by far the worst. Yes, it keeps me from getting pregnant and keeps me from having a period. However, since taking it, it seems like I have developed IBS. It is NOT agreeing with my body. I constantly have to go to the bathroom and get woken up at 2 am with that burning stomach pain before I'm forced to rush to the toilet. I've gained a little weight, but my belly is so bloated like I'm 4 months prego. Lastly, my face has broken out. I've always loved BC pills, but this brand is terrible!! Hope you guys have better luck with Aubra."

"The first month was awful, a lot of spotting that sometimes required a tampon. My sex drive stayed the same. Second month, I changed the time I took the pill in the morning. Sex drive the same, no weight gain, but horrible acne. I hadn't had acne since junior year of high school, and now my forehead is covered, and I've had acne on my cheeks and jaw (which I have never had in my teen years). I'm hoping my body regulates soon in the third month because everything else is good."

"I've been taking Aubra for about 6-7 months now, and I have had no major side effects. The only thing I can really complain about is before, when I got my period, I would never get cramps. Now, when I do have it, I get cramps, but they are very minor. I had little to no acne before taking it, and I have noticed I only get a few pimples here and there. My sex drive has not changed at all, still pretty good. Mood swings are a bit of a problem to where I will get upset with my boyfriend for not replying in a timely manner over dumb stuff I get upset. And no weight gain at all. But other than that, Aubra has gotten me on a regular monthly period, before, I only had it maybe 3 times a year."

"Didn’t get pregnant, so at least it was effective. However, I gained 15 pounds (while dieting and going to the gym 5 times a week), felt either depressed or irrationally angry 24/7, and got the worst painful cystic acne of my entire life. This pill is the worst, I only lasted a month on it. I can’t wait to switch back to Ortho Tri-Cyclen. Many people recommended trying this one, but it was a huge mistake for me."

"I’ve used this birth control for 3+ years, and it has been the best birth control I’ve been on since starting. I’ve had the Nexplanon implant, Depo injections, and the Skyla IUD, all of which made me hormonal at random times in the month, and I felt were too much for me. The NP at Planned Parenthood started me on this and said it was a lower hormone birth control. I have no complaints. I have a period on schedule every month, and I don’t feel crazy hormonal. I love it. I didn’t gain weight, my skin is good, no complaints."

"Been on Aubra birth control pills for 6 months now, got over a year's worth from PP. I'm already an emotional person who suffers from depression, anxiety, and OCD, but after taking Aubra I felt like my emotional outbursts had gotten even worse. I couldn't be sure if it was Aubra or my own mental issues since I hadn't been on my meds for a while (problem with our insurance, long story), but after reading other reviews, I believe this made my pre-existing problem worse. Along with that, my sex drive went down the toilet. My boyfriend doesn't know it, but I've been faking it during sex because I'm afraid of making him feel self-conscious. It looks like that is an incredibly common side effect for others as well. But hey, I'm not pregnant (that I know of)."

"Aubra, Aubra. Where to begin? So I was recommended this pill after my insurance stopped covering Aviane, which I was accustomed to for years (highly recommend Aviane). Anywho, a week into taking Aubra (which is supposed to be exactly the same), I started feeling nauseous all the time, and I really mean ALL THE TIME. While driving, I'd make myself carsick and oftentimes had to stop driving and let my stomach settle before continuing on. I'm a huge foodie, and I completely lost my appetite for food, which made me just not eat out of fear of just puking it out moments later. I was on this pill for about 4 months, and I lost a whopping 50 pounds. Finally, I decided to switch insurance so that they'd cover Aviane, and I couldn't be happier. I was finally able to live normally again. Aubra was absolutely terrible for me, and I never want to go back to it, so no, Aubra and Aviane are not the same for me!"

"This is the first brand of contraceptive pill Planned Parenthood recommended to me after being on nothing for 6 years. I didn’t feel nauseous, and I don’t eat much anyway, so it didn’t affect my appetite. However, this pill has made me cry every day intensely. I am depressed and could not feel any more sad without being sad. I do not recommend unless you aren’t emotional from the start."

"I took Aubra for around a year, and a month after I had been on the pill, I started to notice really bad mood swings, and I became very depressed to the point where I was crying almost every day. I was unrecognizable. Although I didn’t gain any weight or get any acne, I still experienced very bad headaches that I had never had before. It was really bad, I wouldn’t recommend."
