For Birth Control "I've been on Lutera for about 4 years now, and it's been pretty good! No huge complaints at all here! My breasts definitely got bigger, but besides that, not much weight gain as others have mentioned. I do have mood swings ever since I started Lutera, but I mostly just cry easier when I'm PMSing, and that's it. As for effectiveness, it works great, and I pretty much have my period down to the hour at which I know it will start. If you take the pill as instructed, it works great!"

For Birth Control "Let me remind you that everyone's body is different, and every time you begin a new birth control, it can take about 3 months before you fully adjust to it. So don't get anxious about the bad reviews. I began this pill because I would get hives a week before my period, insane acne breakouts on my back, and cramps all the time. I've been on this pill for a month, and I can feel the difference this pill has made already. I have experienced simple symptoms like nausea, but the nausea doesn't bother me. I noticed that it has reduced my appetite, but not dangerously. I just find myself snacking less! Also, my sex drive has not gone (which is a first with birth control). I have a history of anxiety (GAD and OCD with panic attacks), and this pill hasn't made me more anxious. If anything, I feel that it improved my mood and balances my hormones perfectly. I'm confident that the symptoms I have experienced will minimize within that 3 month period. So give your body and the pill some time!"

For Birth Control "I've been taking Seasonique for 4 months now. I've had no breakthrough bleeding, no problems with sex drive, no serious weight gain or acne. I've also noticed that my moods have become more level (as I was diagnosed with PMDD & my doctor thought that leveling out the hormones for a longer period of time would help). Also, my periods only last about 3 days. Love this pill."

For Birth Control "Going on month six of the Larissia birth control, and it is the best birth control I have taken. Before I started it, I came here to read reviews and got very nervous based on the negative effects people were experiencing. All I can say is you have to try it for yourself because everyone’s body is different. I have experienced no crazy mood swings, no depressing thoughts, and no high anxiety. Unlike the other birth controls I have tried in the past that make me lose my sex drive and become dry, this one increased it!!! It feels like I’m not even on birth control. I’ve had no pregnancy scares (I do take it daily and don’t miss a day) and have had no problems with it. The only negative I can give this pill is that it didn’t take away my acne but definitely didn’t make my acne worse. Don’t let reviews scare you away from trying a birth control because it could work the best for your body!"

For Birth Control "When I first started taking birth control, I was started on Aviane, and I really loved it. I lost weight, and I went from an A cup bra to a C cup bra in just 2 months. After a year or 2, I got switched to Lessina, and I didn't like it! Got horrible headaches, gained weight, and cramps were horrible. After 2 years of Lessina, I begged to be switched back to Aviane, and now only after 2 months of taking it, I have lost 11 lbs, and the cramps and headaches are gone. I do get tender breasts while on my period, but I’d rather have tender breasts and moodiness and cramps! Oh, and my sex drive is through the roof!"

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I’ve been taking Seasonique for almost 2 months. I’d heard that it would allow me to skip periods, which I desperately needed because my periods were so severe. Completely unbearable cramps, nausea, fatigue, heavy flow, etc. About 3 weeks ago, I started having horrible cramps and bleeding, and it has not stopped for one day since. I have literally been on my period for 3 weeks! I would have been better off not taking it at all. At least this pain would only last a week or so. I’ve also had some weight gain without changing my diet, so I feel like it’s another side effect of this birth control. I had such high hopes for it, but sadly, it kind of sucks."

For Birth Control "I have been on two previously prescribed birth control pills, and it’s insane how terribly this Vienva birth control pill has treated me. I honestly began to think everything was my fault when, after actually researching the drug, I saw that other women were having my problem. I have been spotting for six months straight, and I am currently on a two-week period. I cannot describe the frustration and depression I am feeling right now. Intense migraines to the point where I can’t even open my eyes, depression, back pain, crazy emotions, insomnia. Oh yeah, and couldn’t even have a sex life due to the constant spotting. If by miracle I stopped for a week, I would get heavy spotting - light period for weeks after. This pill has taken away my happiness and confidence. I am in the process of being prescribed yet another, and I hope all goes well."

For Birth Control "I had a great experience on this birth control. I had no weight gain, no hair loss, my skin was generally pretty clear, and the best part was the 4 periods a year. My hair also grew very fast and was super long and shiny. The only con was that if I didn’t always take it at the same time every day, I would get breakthrough bleeding."

For Birth Control "If I could rate this medication a 0, I would. Ladies with anxiety and depression... PLEASE DO NOT TAKE THIS. I suffer from anxiety, however, (through years of practice) I have been able to learn coping mechanisms. I have taken birth control for years, but after noticing subtle changes with Tri Nessa, I decided to get put on a different birth control. My doctor told me Lutera was a good fit, and I took his word for it. After taking this for literally a week, I noticed I was having really DARK thoughts. My boyfriend would roll over in bed and find me crying for no reason. I was having anxiety like I had never experienced before. For instance, I was shaking, feeling like a 10 lb weight was on my chest, and I was feeling like I was going to pass out. After putting two and two together and realizing the only new addition to my daily routine was Lutera, I decided to stop taking the pill."

For Birth Control "Update from May review: I really love this Vienva pill. Out of all similar ones, this one is closest to Lutera. I did have some breakthrough spotting my 1st pack due to switching from a minipill. Once I had that 7-day withdrawal bleed, my body reset like the nurse said, and no more bleeding on active pills. I keep my pill pack in my wallet too, with this being a low dose. My periods start 2.5 days into the sugar pills and are 6 days total, with my 3rd day being semi-heavy to medium and the rest light flow. I do get overly tired and moody with headaches 3 days before I start my period. But no angry random mood swings all month like some pills. Skin stays mostly clear except for a couple of pimples before my period. Might have lost a few pounds too. My boyfriend and I both love that my sex drive is up and that this pill has given me pregnancy protection. This pill is worth a fair shot. If a pill doesn't agree with you after 2-3 months, call your ob and switch. I have been through this many times myself."

For Birth Control "Terrible! I went on Levlen for exactly 1 month, and it was terrible. On day one, I weighed 75.5 kg, by week 4 of being on this pill, I weighed in at 82.2 kg! Sounds impossible, I know! My breasts doubled in size, I experienced terrible migraines, was extremely bloated, had no libido, was constipated, and generally felt very low and unwell! I went straight off it after my period and haven’t returned to it! I have stayed off the pill entirely and feel back to myself and well! I’ve been off it for exactly 3 weeks now, and my weight has returned back to 76 kg by doing absolutely nothing! Ladies, listen to your body."

For Birth Control "I was on Amethyst for 2 years, and I LOVED it. I spotted my first 2 months and then had no periods. My skin cleared up, and I LOST weight! My breasts grew two bra sizes, and I definitely did NOT lose my sex drive! I wish this worked for everyone as well as it worked for me!"

For Birth Control "I was so afraid of taking birth control again after having so many bad experiences with other ones, but I am so happy I gave this one a chance. Previous pills I was on, Kariva, Sprintec, Orthotricyclen-ALL made me gain weight; super moody and always depressed. This pill works for me, honestly. I have zero side effects, no weight gain, my skin is so clear it freaks me out. The only side effect is my breasts grew from an A to a full B. They're still growing; I'm a little concerned, but hey, free boob job essentially! So girls, if you had a bad reaction to the pills I mentioned above, maybe give this one a try!"

For Birth Control "Been on Levora contraceptive pill for 3 years! Beginning, it was rough—spotted for a while and was very emotional and a bit depressed. However, once that period passed and my body was used to the hormones, my skin cleared completely. I lost probably 10 lbs. Period went from 4 to 5 days long to 3 days exactly! Changed my life :)"

For Birth Control "When I started taking this pill, my life went downhill. I was on it for 2 months and bled for 2 months straight. Within the first week of taking it, I was so bloated and gained so much weight to the point where I couldn’t fit into any of my pants. It caused numerous mental health issues, and I thought I was going crazy. I couldn’t control my emotions, and I was extremely irritable. All of these problems went away as soon as I stopped taking this pill. Do not take it or have your children on it."

For Birth Control "I have been on Aviane for two months now. I'll be starting my third month in about a week. I have noticed a huge difference in my appetite. I've usually only eaten a snack after school and dinner, but lately I seem to always have food in my mouth, and I eat huge amounts. My stomach is constantly bloated. My mood recently started to change, I always feel down and in an 'I hate everything' mood. I am normally a very happy, non-stop laughing person, but now it's an effort to smile. For Birth Control "I saw a lot of negative reviews, but gave it a go. I had a few headaches and crying spells; however, after my body adjusted, I’m completely content. Don’t be too scared and try it once your period starts. I started to wear a pad after the brown discharge (breakthrough bleeding) started, but that’s the worst it’s gotten. For Birth Control "I initially loved this birth control, Vienva. My skin has been clear, no mood swings, and my sex drive was finally back up after getting off my last pill. Unfortunately, my bloating and weight gain have been so excessive that I’ve taken several pregnancy tests just to make sure. I have been dieting and exercising 5 times a week for 3 months with ZERO weight loss! It is just so annoying, considering every other aspect of this pill has been beneficial."

For Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I have been on birth control for 9 years for heavy/too frequent periods. For the first 6 years, Seasonique was amazing. However, especially within the past two years, I have had excessive spotting. For a while, I was on the generic and just thought there was a difference between that and the name brand. Initially, I had no problems, but I started a doctorate program and am sure the stress has a lot to do with it, but my spotting has started again. It'll happen any time I stress out or after having sex. I like not having my period for 3 months, but now, I'm on my period more than a normal BC. Except it's worse. It comes unannounced and has ruined a number of undergarments."

For Birth Control "I've been on this pill for about 3 months. In this time, I've gained some weight. I go to the gym 5-6 times a week and am a pretty health-conscious person, so there is no reason for this to happen. I've never had a problem with my skin, but over the last 3 months, I haven't gone a day without a pimple on my face, and my back and chest are not okay. I feel so gross. I do so much to take care of myself, and after looking at my daily life, the only thing I can attribute these things to is my pill. It is also the only medication I take."

For Birth Control "Aviane is the second type of birth control that I have taken. It's already been a month, and I love it. My skin is completely flawless, and I haven't experienced any side effects besides tender breasts. I haven't gained any weight either. This birth control is great!"

For Birth Control "Aviane is pretty good! I read all the horror stories other people have had with it but went and got a prescription for it anyway. I haven't had any adverse side effects with it so far. My sex drive has not gone down, my breasts do feel a little bit fuller than before. I have no complaints."

For Birth Control "Just like every birth control (BC) pill, this one is not right for everyone. My experience has been mostly positive, and that's lucky for me. I have taken BC since I was 19 in various forms. I have not noticed changes in my physical shape over the years since it has been a part of my life for a long time. I switched from a monthly BC period to Amethyst because not having a period would fit my lifestyle. Oddly, I had no spotting until 5 months in. I have occasionally had almost a very light period at times the first year, mostly during times of high stress. Now in my second year, I very rarely have spotting. I'm very happy and will continue with Amethyst. The secret is to really stick to one time a day, especially with the lower hormone dose. Water is recommended, maybe even some food. The other secret is that this BC is just not right for every body, and finding the right fit takes trial and error. I am lucky that I found something good for me."

For Birth Control "I've been on this pill for almost 2 years now, I love it! I used to get very bad, horrible periods and I couldn't stand it at all. I need something that wouldn't give me my period or gave it to me every 3 months! So I got on Ashlyna! I haven't gotten my period in 2 years! Yayyyy!! Haha, but don't let people scare you, this pill works amazing! If you have heavy, painful periods, I would get on this pill ASAP! ❤️ I hope this helped you girlies out."
