For Birth Control "I just have to say I love NuvaRing! I used to be on the pill, and it was a huge hassle for me (I always forgot to take it), and I had a long list of negative side effects (weight gain, upset stomach, and headaches). I haven't had any of these problems with NuvaRing, the only thing I have against it is my skin seems to be a little more prone to breaking out when I'm on it. However, I will take that over the 15 pounds I gained while on the pill. I've been on NuvaRing for over a year now, and I don't plan on switching anytime soon!"

For Birth Control "The first month was great aside from acne and stomach cramps. The second month was horrible. On top of the acne and stomach cramps, I was very sensitive during intercourse, I was unable to sleep and had horrible dreams every night. I also became manic-depressive, more so on the depressed side. I did gain a little extra weight, but not too much."

For Birth Control "I've been on the NuvaRing for about six months now, and the first three months were miserable. My whole face broke out in cystic acne, which I've never had before. It was very stressful getting rid of certain foods that I thought caused my breakout, but after my face cleared up, I realized it was just my body getting used to the birth control. I don't notice any signs of depression, but I have real bad anxiety that I've never had before. Also, my boyfriend and I get into these little arguments over NOTHING! Right when he starts to raise his voice at me, I just break down crying for no reason. I haven't gotten pregnant on this, and it has never fallen out for me, however, I'm definitely going to consider switching to an IUD."

For Birth Control "So I switched from the pill, which was great aside from having to remember to take it. The NR isn't terrible, but I will be switching back because of how broken out it's caused my face to be (I never, aside from the day my period starts, get breakouts). I don't like how much it has increased my discharge or the feel of it rubbing during intercourse. I was hoping this would help with decreasing the emotional effects that I was having with the pill, but only a month in and it's the same. Also, it wraps around my cervix, making it very aggravating to remove or check its position."

For Birth Control "I have been using the NuvaRing for almost one month. I understand they say birth control takes time for your body to adjust to, but I couldn't handle the feelings with NuvaRing and decided to take it out today. I was on Yaz for 9 years and never had any issues. I had no issues putting in or taking out NuvaRing, couldn't feel it was there and loved the idea of not having to take the pill every day, BUT the downsides. I felt SUPER emotional and depressed, always feeling irritated, and I'm generally a pretty happy person. Constant bloating (feel like I already gained 5 lbs), cramps, and itchy and uncomfortable down there, and difference in discharge (almost like BV or some kind of infection). My face/back broke out in acne too! Just took my NuvaRing OUT!"

For Birth Control "I have been on NuvaRing for 4 months, and as far as comfort, I don't even notice it, and neither does my partner, so initially, I loved it. I was sold until I noticed I have been consistently breaking out like a teenager, I am unusually dry, and it is painful at first during sex because of this. I was willing to deal with that. What scared me off of the ring is that every month, a week before I start my period, I have gotten really dizzy, lightheaded, and have been getting headaches. After reading all the reviews about blood clots, I just don't think it's worth the risk and side effects."

For Birth Control "I have been on NuvaRing for 5 months now and am really liking it so far! I was nervous to start it after reading all the bad reviews, but I found that all birth control methods have terrifying reviews online. NuvaRing has been working really well for me (I'm not pregnant, so that is a big win)! It's really comfortable, and I don't even notice that it is in. Also, neither my husband nor I feel it during sex. I also haven't had any issues with it falling out ever. The only reason I give it a 9 out of 10 is because just this last month, I've been breaking out way more than usual and my skin feels more oily. Not sure if my body is adjusting to the ring and this is my new normal or if it's just been a stressful month with lots of travel and starting grad school. The good news is I started a great skin care routine (bio clarity), and my acne has really subsided. I also haven't noticed any mood or weight change."

For Birth Control "I've read many saying they have had a hard time with NuvaRing under 3 months, then stopped. It takes 3 months for the body to adjust, I was told. So I kept using it, and by the 4th month, no mood swings or side effects. It's been a year and a half now, I've had no breakouts, no unnatural mood changes, a lighter menstruation, but my drive has decreased some that could be due to not being as active (busy life). I've gained no weight related to the ring and seen no weight change the 1st year on it. I too have a history of depression for those that have an issue with birth control due to it. But like I've mentioned, the first 3 months will affect your mood, it's up to you if long-term is worth it."

For Birth Control "I tried NuvaRing because I got tired of having to remember to take a pill every day. It was a bad experience. I’ve never had acne, and when I started taking it, I began breaking out. I thought it might take a month or two to get used to it, and as of the third month, the acne was getting worse. Initially, it caused cramps and was irritating my vagina. The irritation subsided for the most part, but there were days it was very uncomfortable. As most birth controls do, it caused weight gain, not a huge amount, but definitely several pounds. It made my appetite increase significantly, especially for sweets. It’s likely because your body is being exposed to all those hormones at once instead of a small amount at a time like the pill. I’m sure it has worked great for other people, but for me, it’s a NO!! I really wanted it to work, sometimes simpler is better, so it’s back to the pill for me."

For Birth Control "I started taking birth control about 4 years ago and have been on a lot since then. My doctor recommended NuvaRing for its convenience and told me that most women love it and side effects were really rare. Within a couple of weeks of taking it, I started getting severe breakouts on my chest and back. It was bizarre because never in my life had I experienced breakouts on this part of my body, and I have never suffered from more than the occasional minor breakout on my face. I even went to a dermatologist to try to treat it because I did like the NuvaRing for the most part, but the breakouts kept getting worse, to the point they went all the way down my spine and my bellybutton. I took the ring out, and within days it cleared up."

For Birth Control "I've been on this for two months, and it's okay. I think it's probably the best form of hormonal birth control just because it has a lot lower levels than other hormonal birth control options. It's nice not having to take a pill every day, but sex with this is uncomfortable for me, so I have to take it out every time. Noticeable side effects: much more weepy, I cry over the most ridiculous things, breasts got bigger (one good thing), much, much more prone to acne, so I have to watch what I eat, my sex drive has officially died. I used to be crazy for my boyfriend, now I don't want to bother. I'll be getting off this and going back to condoms if I don't get a sex drive soon."

For Birth Control "I love it... best birth control I've ever used! No daily pill, no sickness, mood swings, or breakouts. I've tried at least 6 different types and a couple of different formulations of birth control since I was about 14, and this by far has been the easiest one to handle. I use birth control to regulate my cycle. I have not needed birth control to regulate me since I stopped using it 2.5 years ago. Only negatives are cost, even though it's better, and removing it can be tricky a few times."

For Birth Control "I tried the NuvaRing. This was my first form of any birth control. This was very easy to put inside and very easy to take out. I didn't feel the ring ever. I thought it was amazing until I started to get huge deep pimples. They were impossible to get rid of."

For Birth Control "I have been on both Kariva and the mini-pill and hated them both. Kariva gave me terrible headaches that put me in the emergency room. The mini-pill made me moody, gain weight (not water weight-FAT! I gained 20 lbs. and had to buy ALL new clothes), lose ALL sex drive, and drained me of all energy. I have been too scared to try birth control again up until recently, and I chose to go with NuvaRing because of its lower dose of estrogen and novel delivery system that delivers estrogen at a constant rate. I am almost on week 3, and I am not experiencing any side effects whatsoever. I am so happy I finally found a birth control that fits my body. My acne has also been clearing up (I had it all over my chest and back)."

For Birth Control "Switching from Yaz to NuvaRing was a BIG MISTAKE. I had been on Yaz for 3 and a half years and switched to NuvaRing because I kept forgetting to take my pill. Granted, my experience with Yaz was not the best (breakthrough bleeding a lot), but upon using NuvaRing, my face broke out, I gained weight, and I had constant cramps. Also, it seemed to never stay far enough up my vagina and felt very uncomfortable during sex. I thought it was going to be great, but it was not. Switched back to Bayer and am now on BeYaz and love it!"

For Birth Control "I have just started NuvaRing a week ago today. My period is usually only 3 days, light. It's finally ending now - 7 days later. This is my first time on birth control in about 5 years. It was easy to insert. I did feel it during sex, but not horribly. I did break out - I have a very clear complexion that rarely ever gets one pimple, so I was disappointed in that. I am really sad and depressed feeling tonight, or more moody this week for sure."

For Birth Control "I have been on the NuvaRing for almost three years now and have never had any problems with it. The first month I had it in, my sex drive was a bit low, and I felt tired. After that month, I was back to normal, and now it's great. I lost a bit of weight too, which I didn't mind, but I didn't like it so much as I already felt too thin. Thankfully, though, my breasts grew a cup size! What a miracle! As for acne, I didn't notice any change in my skin. I love the ring."

For Birth Control "I've been using NuvaRing since 2007 and have been very happy with it. I've had no instances of it slipping out, and I can't feel it at all. I never really thought I was very acne-prone when I started it. However, I had to go off of it due to insurance issues for 3 months, and my acne EXPLODED like it never has before in my life. My hair was also super greasy at the same time. Once I got back on the ring, the acne and greasiness went away. During the same time when I had the ring out, my sex drive was back in full force. I didn't really notice it was missing beforehand though! Light periods, no periods if you want. Weight gain? Not sure, I'm fat anyhow and am always kind of gaining!"

For Birth Control "I had a 2-month sample to try from my midwife because I was tired of taking a daily pill. The first month, I was extremely irritable, angered quickly for no reason. I felt bloated all the time, and I started breaking out. After the first month, my skin cleared up, and I went 'back to normal.' Overall, it is a great concept, but I can never keep the NuvaRing in place. It constantly moves around and will sometimes stay by the cervix, and other times will fall down and feel like it's going to fall right out, which I can't stand. I constantly have to go back and push it into place, which is very irritating. My husband said he couldn't feel the ring during sex, but I could feel it moving against my vaginal wall. I am going back to the pill."

For Birth Control "I've only been on NuvaRing for a week. But I'm not nearly so dizzy as I was on the pill. Haven't tested it yet to see how my hubby feels about it. I'm assuming, though, that the thorough disgust and nausea at the sight, smell, and taste of hamburger last night is because the ring has the same hormones as being pregnant. Hoping that we're not pregnant right now. Have slight acne breakout. That is all for now. We'll see how I feel after more than a week."

For Birth Control "My doctor recommended NuvaRing to me after I expressed my concerns about getting pregnant. After she explained how it works, I was happy to be on a low-maintenance birth control. In for 3 weeks, out for 1 week, use another ring for the next cycle. The first few months were GREAT! No mood swings, I feel great, and for a long time, I can predict when my menses will come (I have been irregular from the start). After a year, things changed. I started feeling depressed, usually around the 3rd week (a week before my menses). I talked to my doctor, and she put me on antidepressants. Then I gained weight and have a very bad case of acne on my face and back. And the mood swings were terrible. Now, it's been 6 months, and I'm getting back to my pre-NuvaRing self."

For Birth Control "I've been on the NuvaRing for about 6 months now, and I like the fact I can put it in and forget about it, but I've had pretty bad side effects. Bad acne, which I've never had before. I'm always miserable and depressed, and my sex drive is gone. I didn't gain any weight, which was good because I don't need it. I've also been on six different pills. Everyone is different, so you just got to find what fits you best, and this wasn't for me at all."

For Birth Control "Have tried various pills and Mirena before NuvaRing. Very happy with NuvaRing. Helps with my acne (which was terrible with Mirena). I can't feel it at all (even during sex) and love not dealing with the stress of taking a pill daily. Only problem is the expense, but in Australia my private health insurance covers half the cost. Other friends who have tried have not had as much success, but it works great for me."

For Birth Control "I have used NuvaRing for about 3 years. I LOVE the convenience and the fact that it's a low-dose hormonal contraceptive. I haven't experienced weight gain, mood fluctuations, or spotting while on it. However, I've noticed that my sex drive has diminished greatly over the past year or so. I've had recurrent bacterial vaginosis, which is caused by a change in the balance of the vaginal flora. I've noticed an increase in acne along my jawline around my withdrawal week, and I have a predictable headache during that week as well. Despite the fact that I'll really miss the convenience of NuvaRing, I've decided to talk to my gynecologist about trying another contraceptive."

For Birth Control "I did a lot of research on different birth controls prior, and NuvaRing seemed to be the best. So, I gave it a try. I'm taking it to control my hormonal mood swings and acne. The first 3 days, my sex drive was through the roof, mood swings gone, but bloating instantly. But then, 5 days to a week later, bloating, depressed, angry mood swings, acne has gotten 10x worse, especially on my back, weight/water gain, and now a week and a half later, I have cramps randomly. I also have been eating like crazy and crazy food at night and junk food. So, basically, it's like I'm on my period! I'm going to give it another week or two until my cycle, then I'll stop taking it."
