Ethinyl estradiol / ethynodiol for Endometriosis "I have been on Demulen for two years now and take it daily, without monthly breaks, for the management of severe endometriosis symptoms. I tried many different birth control pills before Demulen, but it has been the most effective in preventing the debilitating pain I suffer. If I am a few hours late with a pill, I will begin to experience some cramping, but I am fine so long as I take it properly. I have experienced no major side effects; no weight gain, no increased sensitivity to the sun, nothing. I would recommend it for the management of endometriosis."

Ethinyl estradiol / ethynodiol for Birth Control "I started taking Zovia about 5 months ago, and I could immediately tell the difference after the 1st month. I started gaining weight, my breasts got even bigger than they already were, and they were constantly tender. My periods went from 3-4 days to 7-9 days with horrible cramps. My face became very oily, and I started breaking out. I have never had a lot of acne or breakouts, but after starting this birth control, it got bad. I have been an emotional wreck and cry all of the time, and I'm normally not like that. I think I had every bad side effect a birth control can have, so needless to say, my OB has called in a different birth control! Hopefully, if you decide to use this birth control, you don't have any of the side effects like I have."

Ethinyl estradiol / ethynodiol for Birth Control "I have been on this pill for 3.5 years, and it is my favorite thing ever. My periods are extremely light, I almost never have cramps or mood swings, and the only weight gain I experienced was welcome and came in the form of a cup size. I haven't had any problems during that time of the month or otherwise, and overall, I think this is just a very nice, happy pill. I always use condoms because I'm paranoid, but I'm scare-free also!"

Ethinyl estradiol / ethynodiol for Birth Control "I have been taking Zovia now for a little over a month. My doctor prescribed this because I was having extremely heavy periods with severe cramps, so he said this would help to regulate. But since I've been taking it, I haven't stopped bleeding at all. Thirty-three days of bleeding is the worst, and it hurts to wear a tampon, so I have to wear pads only. My husband, who is trying to be supportive, is starting to get frustrated because we can't even have sex because of all this bleeding. I think I may stop using it."

Ethinyl estradiol / ethynodiol for Birth Control "Okay, so I started this pill two months ago, and I’m currently going on my third month. I have yet to stop bleeding, and I developed acne when I didn’t have any before. My cramps also have gotten worse. I also have terrible back pain, worse than ever before. I also have moods of irritability, where I’ll snap at people if they are doing something even remotely annoying. I wouldn’t recommend this pill at all."

Ethinyl estradiol / ethynodiol for Birth Control "I recently switched from Loestrin to Zovia. Loestrin made me cramp really bad when I spotted. And I took them every day at the same time. I also would spot for about a week. When I started taking Zovia, which has been for a month and a half, it made me nauseous and I had/have tenderness of the breasts. Nausea went away and my skin cleared up, but I am still experiencing tenderness of the breasts. They hurt really bad and my nipples are sore. My breasts have also enlarged to a cup size. I don't know if this will be for only a short time or if I will continue having this soreness. But overall, I like it, minus my breasts being sore and huge!!"

Ethinyl estradiol / ethynodiol for Birth Control "I started it freshman year of high school because it would clear up my acne (not a bad case of acne at all). But I went on it, and it worked. I saw that my skin was clearing up, and I was very pleased with it. I had my first serious relationship freshman year of college and thought the pill would help if anything were to happen with that, I was at least being safe if anything were to get to that point in the relationship. I see a lot of people saying they were moody, that isn't the case at all with me. I was fine when TOM made his visit. I would get, on the first day, the occasional cramp, then it would go away. My mood never changed, I was still happy and healthy. See what your doctor recommends, every pill is different for everyone."

Ethinyl estradiol / ethynodiol for Birth Control "Took Demulen 1/35 brand only from 1999-2007. It's been all downhill from there trying to find something that was as amazing as this was. Fuller breasts, great skin, no more cramps, period perfectly on time to the hour, NO headaches, and never once had a migraine in all those years!!!! Amazing pill brand name! Now it's discontinued, and the generic is a complete nightmare!!! Kelnor gave me every extreme symptom there was and felt terrible, gained migraines, cramps, and Zovia made me have horrid cramps, heavy flow, and felt terrible. I stuck it out for months to no avail. I will forever miss Demulen 1/35 brand. Good luck to you all!"

Ethinyl estradiol / ethynodiol for Birth Control "This is my first birth control. When I first got on, I got acne really bad on the side of my face, and also I got cramps really bad. But now, about 3 months later, that does not happen anymore, and it keeps my face pretty clear, except when my period is about to start, I sometimes get a pimple or two. But what I did notice is that I have really, really bad mood swings every time my period is about to start. I don't know why. Just try it for yourself!"

Ethinyl estradiol / ethynodiol for Birth Control "Zovia 1/50 was the only brand of contraceptive pill I took for 9 years and switched to Kelnor 1/35 2 years ago. The reason they lowered the estrogen is because my body changed, and I had less excessive hair growth. About a year into Kelnor, I began getting “menstrual” cramps even on the active pills. My GYN said that’s normal when you’ve been on the same brand of birth control pill for a decade. My body is too accustomed to the hormones in Kelnor :( so this pill isn’t effective for me anymore. I ovulated when I’m not supposed to! I’m saddened to have to be switched to Apri. I was saved for over a decade by Zovia/Kelnor. This BC pill saved my life and helped me feel more normal, I’d highly recommend Kelnor! Some of these reviews are of a scary experience with Kelnor, the risk of blood clots is rare. If you don’t smoke, are under age 35, and have no underlying medical conditions, it reduces the chances. I was on 50 mg of estrogen for a long period, and I had zero issues with it."

For Birth Control "This is the 6th pill I've tried. I just finished my 3rd pack and plan on continuing this. So far-no weight gain I'm aware of, no spotting in between periods, periods are about 4 days long and pretty mild. I'll get one small pimple on my chin during the period week, but that's about it. I do get pretty moody during the beginning of the period week as well. Throughout the month, my moods are pretty stable. And I do feel a bit hungrier on this compared to past pills. But I work out and try to eat healthy, so I don't gain weight or give in to cravings. This is a HUGE improvement from past pills. I used to be moody, spotted in between, had awful cramps, and broke out insanely on the majority of the other pills I was on. Let's hope this keeps working!"

Ethinyl estradiol / ethynodiol for Birth Control "I've been using Zovia for almost four months now, and so far I think it's been wonderful, besides a few things. This was my first time ever trying birth control, and I wasn't too sure about it. When I first started Zovia, my first month was great, no side effects or anything. Then my second month came, and that's when everything went downhill. I started to get bad cramps, was very depressed, and was always throwing up. Also, my periods have actually gotten heavier and still last a full week. To this day, I still throw up every month one day out of my second or third week before my period. I still experience some depression, but other than that, my cramps and everything else have gone away."
