Eletriptan "I have suffered with migraines my entire life, both with and without auras. Migraines leave me having to close myself off from the world and try desperately to find a semi-comfortable spot so that I can lay down long enough to hopefully fall asleep through part of my usual 12-18 hour migraine. Since being prescribed Relpax, I am finally free! Once I feel a migraine coming on, I take one 40 mg Relpax pill and, within 10 minutes, can actually feel it working and the pain subsiding. Within a half hour, the pain is completely gone! Only once or twice did I need to take more than 1 pill, but that was because I waited too long to take it, and it works better the sooner it's taken. It's improved my life!"

Eletriptan "I was given both samples of Relpax or Zomig for migraines from my neurologist. He said to try both, and he would Rx which one worked better. The Zomig was a nasal spray that I did not like, but the Relpax was way better for me. I've been on this medication for about 6 months. I take it about 2 times a month. I can feel my migraine just melt away in about 30 minutes after taking this. It's really a miracle pill. The only side effect is the next day my head feels spacey, but I would take that over a migraine any day."

Eletriptan "I am a migraine sufferer. They tend to last for several days before I start to feel relief. Relpax for me doesn't seem to change that. Even after multiple doses, I continue to be in agonizing pain. But not all medicines will work the same for everyone."

Eletriptan "I started getting migraines at 11 years old. For the first few years, Excedrin Migraine would usually get rid of it. But then it stopped working. I finally went to a neurologist. At first, I was put on Imitrex, but that either did absolutely nothing or made the pain worse. After switching to 20 mg Relpax, I am so relieved! It almost always knocks out my migraine symptoms. Once in a while, it won't really work, and I'll have to take a 40 mg. Although, one time I did have to go to the ER because I had a migraine for a week and Relpax wasn't working, every single other time it has worked! The only side effect I've noticed is that I'm a bit tired. However, this could just be due to the initial pain beforehand. But heck, I love Relpax!"

Eletriptan "This is my miracle drug! I've suffered with migraines since around the age of 16, now 33. I've tried tons of different medications, but Relpax, although terribly expensive, has been the only solution for me. The only real side effect I have trouble with is entire body sensitivity to touch. Literally, just putting a bar of soap to my skin hurts. However, it's only temporary, and I'd much rather that temporary feeling than a migraine. Can't wait until there is a generic! Great medicine!"

Eletriptan "I have had severe migraines since I was 8 years old, and then a friend recommended Relpax. She had begun to use it for her migraines. So I asked my doctor to prescribe it, and it has literally changed my life. I do usually have to take two, and they are expensive, but two pills that work, at any cost, are worth being migraine-free! If you are a sufferer, try it!"

Eletriptan "Relpax has helped me control my migraines that, in all but one case, I had to take a second one. At this point, I have not had any side effects that I know of. To me, it seems to control the migraine where it does not go on for days by stopping at the onset."

"I have never had such a terrible experience trying to open a package. You need to have scissors at your disposal and then try to peel back the covering - all while having a horrible migraine! I travel and do not have access to scissors - please urge the manufacturer to change the packaging knowing the patients have severe neurological impairments while experiencing a migraine and cannot open the medicine."

Eletriptan "I've had migraines for about 25 years. I've tried about half of the meds prescribed for migraines. Relpax was the only one to not only give me relief but relief without side effects. I rarely have to take more than one dose. For me, it was truly a lifesaver as my migraines had gotten to the point where I would have done anything to make them go away. Unfortunately, my insurance seems to hate it and keeps wanting me to try things that I had significant side effects on or that didn't help at all because it is expensive. I just tell them it's cheaper than an ER visit. I don't understand why they want to fix something that now is no longer broken. It has even cut down on the number of migraines I have. They were a weekly occurrence. Now I'm down to about 5 per year."

Eletriptan "I have to say I love Relpax. I sit under fluorescent lights and in front of a computer all day long, and when I have a migraine, I take Relpax, and within 20 minutes, the pain goes away. The only side effects I have are the pain in my jaws and throat, and my arms get really heavy. But it's nothing compared to the pain I feel under these bright lights with a migraine. I don't think that this is an expensive medicine, with my insurance, I pay less than 10 dollars for a box of 12 of them. I think I would think differently if I didn't have insurance, for sure, but I would pay any amount of money for these little orange pills."

Eletriptan "Relpax is the best remedy I have ever found for my migraines. I suffer from frequent migraines, if not daily. It is an expensive medication if you don't have the insurance to cover it, but if you've suffered, you know it's worth every penny because it works every time. I do not take this medication anymore, and here is why. When I first started using this miracle medicine, my migraines were not daily, however, after about a month of using Relpax, when my migraine hit, I began having them every single day, which caused me to take one pill every day. My pharmacist had concerns over daily usage, apparently, the 6-pack is supposed to last a month. I spoke to my doctor, and he took me off of it due to the fact that I was having to take it every day."

Eletriptan "I'm 19 and have been suffering with migraines for about a year now. My GP advised me to try Relpax out as it was impacting my work life. I am on the 80 mg dosage, and it does work really well. I already suffer from photosensitivity, and when a migraine hits, a simple phone light is unbearable. Within a couple of hours, my added light sensitivity and nausea are gone, and my head pain dulls down to a mild inconvenience. I am the rare case in which the side effects include jaw and neck pain. When I do take it, my jaw feels like it's ready to explode, but after the 2-hour mark, there is no more pain. I would recommend this to people who are sufferers, but just be wary of the side effects."

Eletriptan "I took Relpax for migraines. I did have to take an additional painkiller, such as Tylenol, with it. It did control my migraines. Some side effects were heart racing and a very rough sensation in my stomach, almost like sand. It took the pain from my migraine away, so I didn’t think twice about how my stomach felt. But within a year, I was in the hospital with a bleeding ulcer! All I’m saying is Relpax does work to take the excruciating migraine pain away, but beware and consult your doctor about the side effects!"

Eletriptan "At times I get a migraine every day, particularly after I have been away from home, e.g., a week or more, then usually I get a daily migraine for around two weeks. Imigran works well once I know a migraine is on the way. None of the preventers I have tried have helped. Recently, I tried taking Relpax at night as a preventer, and so far it has worked. This has been a short-term experience, and I don't plan to continue daily use before I check with my GP."

Eletriptan "I had been taking Treximet and paying privately, as my insurance didn't have it on their formulary, and the generic, for whatever reason, didn't work. After finding out the cost was going to triple, I saw a headache specialist to find something else, and I was given Relpax samples. These are wonderful, and I now have a prescription for them! I do feel somewhat drowsy for about 12 hours after taking the Relpax, which I also have to take with one Aleve, and as some others have noted, I do find myself needing to pee more often. These side effects are definitely worth it, and my insurance covers 4 pills at a time. I wait 4 days, then get another refill, paying my copays. I also found the coupon to pay no more than $10 during a refill once per month. Yay!"

"I have suffered from migraines for 24 years and had a physician prescribe Relpax back in 2014, and it was the only medication to work for me with zero side effects. Fast forward to today. There's a generic prescription on the market now, and my insurance will no longer cover the brand-name one, so I tried it. It's the one made by Teva. It had not worked at all. I have taken 2 pills in 4 hrs and not even the slightest relief. I'm also on Fioricet and Phenergan. I would rather pay the exorbitant amount of money for the brand-name drug than the $24 for the generic form. Sumatriptan works for me too, but I get horrible side effects that are nearly as debilitating as the migraine, so I only take it as a last resort. So far, the generic Relpax has made me more nauseous, sleepy, and uncontrollably anxious. I would NOT recommend switching from brand to generic form of this drug. Plus, the packaging is very difficult to open, which is even MORE irritating when you're in so much pain."

Eletriptan "I experienced weather-related migraines the past couple of years. My doctor and pharmacist commented on this increase in our area. Previously, I had stress-related migraines (i.e., 30-day migraine starting a new job in 1977). Several years in my mid-40s, I was headache-free. The past few years, I started Tylenol 3 to counter migraines and found the side effects of nausea and rebound headaches made me prefer to suffer rather than take a T3. This spring, my doctor gave me a sample of Relpax. I was thrilled; it worked so effectively. But unfortunately, I now need Relpax daily! I wake up, and with movement in the morning comes the throbbing migraine almost instantly. My pharmacist says it is not a rebound headache. But it no longer is just weather-caused."

"I took the name-brand Relpax for years, and it was extremely effective. I switched to the generic when it became available and had the same result. Unfortunately, my CVS/Target pharmacy switched which generics they were carrying, and the replacement generic was awful. Migraines wouldn't go away, extreme nausea, and bad depression. Moral of the story -- don't discount all generics since they're made by different companies. Generics have the same active ingredient as the name-brand, but the non-active ingredients can be completely different. FWIW (for what it's worth), the generic that worked great for me was distributed by Zydus Pharma, and the generic that was ineffective (and downright dangerous in my opinion) was made by Mylan Pharma. Don't be afraid to ask your doctor who the generic supplier is and give different ones a try."

Eletriptan "Didn't work well on the migraine and made me feel like I was roofied. Both times I tried it for migraines, I slept for 12+ hours and felt out of it for many more hours. I know it works well for some folks, just not for me apparently."

Eletriptan "Relpax is effective in taking away migraine pain 99% of the time. For me, the best part was making me feel less nauseous and less sensitive to sound/light. The worst part was the side effects. I experienced muscle cramps in my upper body for about 30 minutes."

Eletriptan "I have had migraines for approximately 20 years. At 40, went into early menopause. I had been migraine-free for about 5 years, but after starting hormone replacement therapy, the migraines are back. Relpax 40 mg worked in the past and still does, with little to no side effects. I had also tried Imitrex, Zomig, Maxalt with side effects and little relief. But Relpax seems to be the winner."

Eletriptan "I took Relpax the first time when I had a severe migraine about 6 months ago, and it did help to some degree without any serious side effects. I was prescribed it again today, and honestly, I would rather have just had the migraine and taken painkillers and tried to sleep it off. I will never take it again. I felt dizzy, nauseated, out of it, muscles were sore and uncoordinated, my legs and head felt tingly, and the roof of my mouth went numb. It was a horrible experience for me. Be wary before taking it, especially if you are on other medication that may enhance the effects of Relpax, especially SSRIs or narcotic pain relievers, all of which affect serotonin levels in the body. Not good at all, I almost took myself to the hospital. I'm glad it works for most people, though."

Eletriptan "This was a wonder drug for me! Had tried so many things from daily Topamax (did nothing), Imigran, the snorty (nasal spray?) thing (can't remember its name), codeine, Betapyn, acupuncture, special diets, etc., and this is the only drug that knocks off the migraine, deals with the nausea, and leaves me functional at work. The only other drug I ever found effective was something called a 'migraine cocktail' that I was given on a work trip in a South African pharmacy - a little selection of about 6 tablets, 2 yellow, 1 pink, a few white. To this day, I have no idea what was in it, but it killed my migraine (probably nearly killed me, but it worked)! Outside of that, the Relpax is my absolute go-to. I have a script for both the 40mg (small migraines) and 80mg."

Eletriptan "I started getting a migraine at 6:30 a.m. on my way to work. By seven I had all the major symptoms. I asked my boss if he had anything and he sent me to a friend. She had Relpax. I asked her if it would take the edge off and let me work. She said in 1/2 hour I wouldn't remember I had a headache. She was right. This is the first medicine that stopped the migraine cold. I went to my doctor and got a prescription of my own. No side effects at all for me."

Eletriptan "Not effective for me. I've been a migraine sufferer for 30 years and have relied mainly on Imitrex. My neurologist has also been giving me Botox every 3 months for the past 6 years, which has helped cut my attacks down immensely. However, he thought maybe I should try Relpax for those migraines I do get, and it has not been helping me at all. My Imitrex 100 (or generic) would usually rid me of a migraine as long as I took it within the first 15 or so minutes of onset. So, I guess I'll stick with what's worked for me."
