Dulaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I took my first Trulicity shot this week. By the second day, I felt horrible: severe stomach pains, fever, loss of appetite, cramps, cold belching, acid reflux. I can't imagine a medication can make you feel so terrible. I will not recommend Trulicity."

Dulaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I've been experiencing, since the first week, the runs and some stomach pain. I was hospitalized two times, one being dehydrated and both times vomiting. Then it finally slowed down for 4 months. Then my endocrinologist upped my dose from 0.75 mg to 1.5 mg. Almost instantly, vomiting and the runs, then trouble breathing. I suffered for that week, and I haven't gone back to 0.75. Now, 2 weeks later, not being on Trulicity, I'm going through another bout of the runs and vomiting, plus sharp stabbing stomach pains. Would I suggest this to anyone? No. Will I start taking it again? No."

Dulaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "Took my first injection on Wednesday, June 29, 2016. Early hours Thursday, woke to terrible stomach pains, wind, belching, and diarrhea. Feeling dreadful in myself, ate a salad Wednesday evening, hardly anything since. A full feeling that just doesn't go away. Overall, I've experienced a really bad few days and still not right. It's Monday, July 4, today. I hope these side effects go soon, as I'm having trouble taking medication for other ailments."

Dulaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I was on metformin, this didn't agree with me: constant stomach pain, nausea, and diarrhea. I'm disabled too, mobility is limited. I can't move fast. I was advised to use Trulicity, it has improved my diabetes, BUT at a cost. I now dread Sundays, that's 'double harpoon day!' (when I have my insulin and the weekly Trulicity). It hurts injecting it, the site goes hard, and if I bump it, it hurts! For Sunday through approximately Wednesday, I can hardly function. I feel sick, I have agonizing stomach pain, diarrhea. I am constantly breaking wind from both ends and have to get to the loo fast! Both my arms ache, my back aches-it's awful. The pain wakes me up at night. Luckily, I live in the UK and am on disability benefits, so I get free prescriptions. I WOULDN'T pay for Trulicity!"

Dulaglutide for Cardiovascular Risk Reduction "I injected one time about 5 days ago, the first night was okay, and the first day was okay. The second day, I had horrible nausea, the third day, horrible sharp stomach pains, can't eat anything without having sharp pains, fourth day, uncontrollable diarrhea (Imodium doesn't work) along with sharp stomach pains that feel so bad. Waking up at night to horrible gas and sulfur-smelling burps, fifth day, again with watery diarrhea, almost went to the hospital, can't eat or drink, feel dehydrated and depressed."

Dulaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I have been on Trulicity three weeks, and the nausea and stomach pain are gut-wrenching. HOWEVER, my numbers are great, and I have lost ten pounds in two weeks. I can't eat as much, and whenever I do eat, I feel sick, but I'm still hopeful. I do have lots of fatigue and had to get on Zofran to try and control the nausea. I am hoping this changes after a few more doses. I don't want to give up on this medicine, especially since my insurance pays for the majority of the cost."

Dulaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I was on 1000 mg Metformin. I had diarrhea from eating fats. Moved to Trulicity 1.5 mg. Initially started with mild stomach pains, diarrhea from eating fats. About 4 months of using, occasional diarrhea from fats, not as bad as before, but very strong, sharp stomach pain. Like kidney stone pain. In fact, got an MRI to check for them and there weren't any found. Appetite suppressor causes bloating so you feel overly full, but not constant. I had lost weight (20 pounds in 3 months) but gained it back when I wasn't monitoring food intake. The price is outrageously high without insurance. It must be refrigerated. Effective? Not very. My BS are still over 100 fasting, and that is with Jardiance 10 mg. If I cut out carbs completely, it will probably fall more, but that isn't realistic. But I will keep monitoring my diet to see where I can improve to see if the medication will improve with weight loss."

Dulaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I had bad indigestion, heartburn, stomach pain, and nausea. I really tried to stick it out because I was losing weight, but I was miserable. I managed to use it for seven weeks and had to stop! My insurance covered it, so that part was good!"

Dulaglutide for Cardiovascular Risk Reduction "Been taking it since May 2022, I did feel stomach pain until September on and off, but now it has disappeared. I have constipation, but it is tolerable. I had issues with experiencing excruciating hunger pangs and constantly eating for that reason, gaining a lot of weight even if eating healthy. Trulicity helped eliminate hunger pangs at least for 3 days of the week. Lost 10 lbs in the first few weeks of the initial dose, then hit a plateau. Started losing weight again on the 4.5 mg dose. Lost 26 lbs in total. All blood work is great."

Dulaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I started 4 weeks ago. My first shots were 1.25. It sent me to the E.R. twice in one week. They lowered my dose to 0.25. I'm still having stomach pain and sulfur burps, and stomach pain. The only good part is I'm not hungry. I have bouts of constipation and diarrhea. Something has to give, or I'm done taking it."

Dulaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "Week 1 shot low dose - GERD kicked in, not really hungry. Week 2 shot, GERD worse, burping sulfur all day, still not hungry, nausea, tired all the time. Week 3 shot maintenance dose - GERD all the time horrible, sulfur burps, diarrhea, nausea, stomach pains, tired all the time, food is revolting. Week 4 shot - wish I was dead. All the above now at the extreme - plus now I'm vomiting, missed work because of it. I will not take it again. Will stick with metformin and start cinnamon again."

Dulaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "The worst! Been on it for over two months. I take it on Friday. Fridays, I am so sick, by Sunday, I’m still sick. Monday is better. Wednesday, I swear every muscle in my body is very painful. I have crippling leg and foot pain. My heart races like a race car. I passed out once. Horrible stomach pains, gas, belching loud and hard, and bloating. I’m so dehydrated I went to the ER more than once, and they stuck me five times but still could not start an IV. I wore a heart monitor, had a Doppler done on my legs for blood clots, chest X-rays and EKG for chest pain and to rule out heart attack. Did a 24-hour urine test, provided stool samples due to so much diarrhea, but everything checked out fine, and the doctor concluded it was the Trulicity. I only started it because the insurance company stopped covering Victoza 1/1/18. My A1c was 12.75%. I started Victoza, and it went down to 8.6%. I have not been tested since I started Trulicity, but this is my last week on it, hopefully, my doctor can get Victoza authorized!"

Dulaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "This is week 3 of me taking Trulicity, it started off okay, finally seeing blood sugar under 200. Loss of appetite, lost a few lbs, BUT then came the headaches, orange urine, bad stomach cramps, and now my foot has been swollen for a week. I went to the ER, they said I was fine. Could be side effects of the Trulicity and told me to check with my doctor. I was on Januvia, glipizide and never had these kinds of side effects. Metformin makes me so sick. I'm going to my doctor today to prescribe something else, as I can't deal with the Trulicity."

Dulaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I started on Trulicity 3 weeks ago, injection every Tuesday. I am a gastric bypass patient, and I feel this is similar to 'dumping syndrome' - eat too much carbs and start to sweat, stomach pains, and eventually diarrhea. The pain and symptoms are very similar. My glucose number went down, so I feel it's working. The pain isn't the same as it was the first week, and if I eat power carb meals, the pain isn't so great."

Dulaglutide "I was prescribed this medication for pre-diabetes and weight loss. I was on the low dose for 6 months without any problems and lost 13 lbs. The dose was increased, and so far I have taken three doses. I have had nausea, stomach pain, trouble sleeping, etc. I have always been a bit constipated, but it is so bad now that I'm worried about having a blockage. I normally take Prilosec for heartburn and GERD, but that is now a big problem again. I kept saying that in the morning, I am burping and can taste what I ate for dinner the night before. I just read all of these reviews and am now scared to continue. I will definitely be talking to my PCP tomorrow."

Dulaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "The starter dose didn't bother me all that much, I didn't feel as hungry, and I even lost about 20 lb in a few months. My blood sugar stayed in range, which was great. Once they moved me to the 1.5 dose, I started experiencing acute side effects: significant nausea that would last days on end after my shot, the most horrible stomach acid burps, explosive and recurrent diarrhea, as well as bad stomach pain that would last until 4 days after my dose, leaving me with about 2 to 3 days of actually feeling normal and the rest of the time feeling absolutely atrociously horrible. It has been helping my blood sugar stay stable, and it has been helping me lose weight, but I seriously doubt, as I continue to take this, that the pros outweigh the cons."

Dulaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I took my first injection of Trulicity one week ago. I will never take it again. I've had severe stomach pain, diarrhea, painful acid reflux; keeping me up all night, headache, lethargy, depression, and now...a rash has shown up on both legs. This truly has been a nightmare week. And, to think that it will take a month to leave my system!"

Dulaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I have been on Trulicity 0.75 for 5 months now. It has been better than Metformin tablets, which make me feel really ill. The Trulicity once-a-week injection is very easy to use and doesn't hurt, but the side effects the day after are not nice. I have nausea, constipation, bloating, and stomach pains. Wondering if it's worth taking it, as the side effects are affecting my life now. Perhaps I should go on a diet and more exercise, like others have said suits them better. I have lost weight, and my blood sugar has gone from 10 to 6.4, so it is doing its job."

Dulaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I myself requested to use Trulicity to see if my A1C would improve as it was 10. First week injection, I had some stomach pains like real pains, but going to 2nd week and on, no noticeable pains. I take metformin 1000 2x daily and the injection Trulicity 1x weekly. I have lost weight and overall feel well. I have less appetite but am thirsty at times and hungry for breakfast daily. Watching more closely what I eat and hope for better A1C coming up. Don't eat bad when taking this medication or you will be undoing its benefits. Ask your doctor if you can start it and see if it will aid your diabetes, but be sure to have a good regular diet and do what the dietitian and doctors suggest. Good luck!"

For Type 2 Diabetes "I’ve been on this medication for about 14 months. My A1C went from 8.2 to 5.4, and I lost 20 lbs. I loved the once-a-week injection and didn’t really have any side effects until recently. I’ve developed serious stomach pain and acid reflux. I’ve been admitted to the hospital, ran all sorts of tests, can’t find anything wrong, so they’ve credited it to intestinal paralysis due to years of uncontrolled diabetes. I am convinced it’s the Trulicity and have decided to stop taking it."

Dulaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I started Trulicity last Saturday night! I was in bed for the last 4 days. I really thought I was going to faint! I was so weak and nauseous (I also have Crohn's disease), and the added stomach pain did not help. I'm still feeling weak but each day a little better. Will not do my 2nd dose. No way."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I have only been on the injection since Tuesday. I have found I feel very sick most of the time, then couldn't stop vomiting in the early hours Saturday morning. Does anyone know if there is anything you can take for this? I have lost 8 pounds in weight since Tuesday as I'm not eating very much due to lack of appetite. My sugar levels have dropped, which is great as I could not get them to come down. I also take 2 metformin 500 grams, feel tired, weak, and have stomach pains. I can cope with everything - just can't cope with the vomiting."

Dulaglutide for Type 2 Diabetes "I started taking Trulicity about 2 months ago. 1st week or 2, I was fine. Had some diarrhea, but nothing I couldn’t handle. Last week, I got really sick. I had awful burps, stomach pain, vomiting, and uncontrollable diarrhea. At first, I thought it was a stomach bug, but when it happened again this week, I KNEW it was the Trulicity and immediately called my MD. Her solution? Try a lower dose. Nope! Not even gonna bother picking up the Rx from the pharmacy."
