For Birth Control "I have been on Yaz almost a month. The reason why I picked and like this medication is because it doesn't give me mood swings, which every other birth control always causes. My complaints are that I have seen random acne pop up here and there on my face and a little breakthrough bleeding. I also have cravings and get super nauseous at the thought of certain foods. I am definitely a picky eater now and would prefer not to eat than eat something that turns my stomach (which seems to be a lot of things lately). My breasts are more 'perky' and all my milk from my son has dried up fairly quickly. I do get dizzy, it's happened twice only. I also feel a little spacey, but it's getting better. Not sure about weight gain, if any."

For Birth Control "I have been on Yaz for over a year now. At first, it was great, my skin cleared up, my periods were regular, light, and short, and my moods varied only slightly. After about the first 5 months, however, everything started going wrong. I have constant heartburn, I've gained 10 lbs., I'm tired all the time, my acne has returned, and I've been spacey and forgetful. Worst of all are my periods. The week before and throughout my period, my moods are ALL over the place, I'm irritable and easily upset, which isn't like me. I'm getting severe cramps, migraines, and I get really nauseous when I'm on my period, which are heavier now than they ever were and last usually about 8 days, last month it lasted 11! Everyone's different, but this isn't for me."

For Menstrual Disorders "Unfortunately, I did not have a good experience with Yaz. I am 20 years old and have been suffering from endometriosis for about 7 years. Yaz was the first medication that was used to treat my condition (for 2 years), and it actually increased my pain. The goal of the medication was to stop getting my periods completely (skipping the white sugar pills) so that I would avoid the painful cramps and to slow down the growth of the uterine lining growing outside of my uterus. #1: I kept getting my period every month regardless of skipping the sugar pills. #2: I was so nauseous while taking these pills. #3: The pain was crazy. It either did not help the pain whatsoever or made it worse. My advice: no."

For Birth Control "I don’t usually write medication reviews, but I felt like this one needed to be heard. I switched to Yaz from using Freya before. I switched because I was having a lot of hormonal headaches, acne, etc. The first month was terrible. EXTREME nausea, dizziness, no energy whatsoever, and the worst symptom of all-the absolute worst anxiety of my life. After the initial month of dealing with the physical side effects, I was still left with crippling anxiety. Uncontrollable, always had a knot in my stomach, tightness in my chest, always on edge, couldn’t do day-to-day activities without feeling anxious. I stopped taking Yaz after month 3 because I couldn’t handle it anymore, and I already feel much better."

For Birth Control "I have taken this pill for about a year after switching from Lo Loestrin Fe. At first, it helped regulate my period, but it gave me headaches and nausea. After a couple of months, my depression got so bad I could not function, I would have extreme sadness all day. My mood swings were terrible. My breasts also increased a cup size, and I gained about 10 lbs. Increased appetite, and sexual drive was moderate. The good benefits from this pill were that it did prevent pregnancy, my skin was clear, and hirsutism was kept at its minimum. My period would come like clockwork at the end of my active pills and only lasted about 5 days. Did it minimize my periods? Not a noticeable difference."

For Birth Control "I was on Yaz for about a month and a half after switching from Ortho Tri-Cyclen that I used for 7 years. I switched because Ortho wasn't working for me anymore. I was nauseous and felt off balance. I had no problems with acne nor weight gain. While on Yaz for a short time, I had anxiety, depression, bloating, and weight gain. I had to stop mid-pack because I was an emotional wreck. I'm on Aviane now for two months and experiencing horrible breakouts I never had before. I feel slightly off balance when I first start using active pills and during the first few inactive pills. I'm still looking for what will work for me."

For Acne "I have been on birth control since I was 12, I know, young! But I had severe acne and was too young to be on Accutane. I was put on Accutane then when I was 14, and my skin cleared up for about a year and got really bad again. So I was on a birth control that worked okay, and when I was 15, a new doctor told me that the BC pill I was on was not meant to treat acne (but it actually was), and so they took me off. Anyway, last year, I was put on Yaz, and I have had the worst time with it. I break out so badly, and I have really bad depression. But the worst things about it are that I get so bloated, it’s so painful to stand or sit. And I get so nauseous and have the worst headaches right before bed. I swear I have only had 2 headaches in my life before I was on Yaz, and now I have them EVERY SINGLE NIGHT. I want to be off it so badly, but I have to wait 2 more weeks until I meet with a different doctor, hoping to be put on a different pill. I would not recommend this to anybody at all."

For Birth Control "I've been on Yaz for just about a month. I've noticed some improvement in my acne. I started Yaz just for birth control and because I was having a lot of anxiety and my doctor thought it may help along with my anxiety meds. I haven't noticed a difference with taking Yaz yet, but it's only been a month and I don't exactly have PMDD. So I will keep taking it and see what happens over the next few months. The very first pill I took gave me nausea, but that was it."

For Birth Control "I first took Yaz when I was 17. It was my first time taking birth control, so I didn't know what to expect, but it was horrible. Every day I took Yaz, I fell sick with nausea and couldn't do much of anything without the fear of throwing up. Finally, when my symptoms obviously were not going away, Mom called my doctor and told them that I needed something else. They then prescribed me Loryna. I never had any problems with it, and I've been taking it for three years. Unfortunately, due to a change in my insurance, I had to stop taking Loryna because it wouldn't be covered anymore. So today, I found a package on my doorstep, and inside was Yaz. I'm too terrified to start taking it again, so I need to talk to my doctor as soon as I get the chance."

For Menstrual Disorders "I was put on Yaz because I was having irregular menstrual cycles. I just finished my first pack. The entire month I have had nausea, vomiting, acne, and horrible cramps. I think that I would rather have my period for 20 days each month rather than take this pill."

For Menstrual Disorders "I've been on Yaz for five months. My periods are regular, great! However, regularity isn't worth the side effects. I experience crippling cramps, nausea and vomiting, horrible breakout/cystic acne around my period (I've never been acne prone), and insane mood swings... :( I don't like taking it, and it only got worse. AH! Talk to your doctor and don't do it on your own! Also, can I just say I think it's ridiculous the medical system labels menstruation effects as 'disorders' - last time I checked, it's pretty natural. Is my uterus really that diseased, doc'?"

For Menstrual Disorders "This pill has made me extremely sick, the nausea it brings me is awful and has made me lose 10 pounds in just a week from making me sick. It has made me vomit quite often. I used this to get rid of cramping, and it brought me sickness instead."

For Acne "I was prescribed Yaz by my OB-Gyne because I'm having PCOS again. I will be under treatment for 6 months and need to lose weight. She advised me to use Yaz for weight control, and I think it's working well for me, though I'm still on my 4th day in my first month. I don't crave much, and I'm not getting any side effects like headache, bloatedness, or nausea with this pill. I have hormonal imbalance as well after I gave birth to my firstborn, and it caused me so many pimples. Hopefully, this will work in getting rid of it. I will give it 5 for now and see how it will work. In case it won't do much, then I'll switch back to Gynera, which was first prescribed to me 5 years ago, and I was able to use for 3 months, and it did great. For now, I'll give this one a chance."

For Birth Control "Yaz made me nauseated daily, and my mood went from being a happy, bright personality to a moody, tired personality. Changed back to previous pill and feel a million bucks again."
