For Birth Control "As far as birth control... never got pregnant. That is the only plus. Horrible cramps, heavy bleeding, soaking through tampons in an hour or less, passing of large clots, headaches. Looking forward to switching off to a different BCP."

For Birth Control "I had a great experience with Yaz. I have been on it for about two and a half years now. I originally got on it for cystic hormonal acne, and I can tell you that my face has never been clearer! It took a couple of months for me to get accustomed to Yaz, but after that, my acne went away and my mood was so much better. I used to suffer from bad PMS that would make me very anxious and depressed. My periods used to be very heavy and painful and ten days long, and Yaz has made them lighter, shorter, and minimum pain/discomfort. My breasts also grew about one to two cup sizes. I feel my hair is growing faster and thicker. It also reduced some of my body hair! Overall, I love Yaz. Don’t let the bad reviews scare you, Yaz is different for everyone, and it has worked wonders for me."

For Birth Control "I was on Yaz for 2 months and started to become anxious, paranoid, and depressed. I asked my doc to get off it, and she told me to give it more time. I got off it, nevertheless, because I did not need it. My life improved dramatically over the next 6 months. I started dating again, so I decided to give the pill another shot. I started to be anxious and insecure immediately. I started believing and accusing the person I was seeing of not being into me and got upset at him over the littlest things. A week before my period, I went into full anxious and depression mode. It felt like the world was ending. I also experienced severe cramps, migraines, and bled for 2 weeks. I am now off this drug for 2 days and noticed an immediate difference."

For Birth Control "I started taking it to regulate my period a year ago, and it has been a rollercoaster of a year. About 5 months after taking it, my mood swings started to get really bad, I always had headaches, my cramps were bad, and I started to have symptoms of anxiety and depression. I used to be so full of energy and always happy, now my mood swings are 24/7 and I have 0 energy whatsoever. Definitely going to switch birth control pills. I don't recommend Yaz."

For Acne "Been on Nikki-generic of Yaz for about 9 months. I used to have periodic breakouts before starting to take birth control and then fewer breakouts with other pills. With Nikki, I have a rare pimple pop up every month but clear skin otherwise. My periods used to be heavy and painful, the flow has decreased, and I only get light cramping on Nikki. The only downside is the decreased or very low libido. Overall, a good pill with little side effects."

For Birth Control "Yaz has been a really good birth control for me. It improves my mood and makes my periods very light with hardly any cramping. And I heard it helps you lose weight also. I would recommend this to anyone wanting an overall good birth control."

For Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder "I started Yaz a month and a half ago, and the first month was great. I almost thought this would be it, but suddenly my head started to fog, and I would be unfocused and tired every day for no reason. Other than that, the constant cramps, back pain, and decrease in my libido made me realize this was not good for me. I had high expectations that weren't fulfilled. I wish for new users to find this helpful."

For Birth Control "I haven't been on the pills for a month yet, 3 weeks, and I'm going to try and stay on them for at least 2 months, and if I don't see an improvement, I'm probably going to change my prescription. I feel nauseous at least 30 minutes a day, and now that I've gotten my period, it's gotten 10x worse. Good helps for maybe 10 short minutes, and I'm back to feeling gross and sick. I'm constantly tired, yet it's so difficult for me to sleep. And my cramps have gotten worse, I didn't even think it was possible. My back and abdomen cramp at the same time (that's usual), and normally the only way to get rid of them is heat, so I take a bath, and not even that is helping, and of course, the heat would make me more nauseous. Has anyone had this problem?"

For Menstrual Disorders "Yaz has been the greatest medicine ever. A few years ago, before I went on the pill, I would get terribly sick. I went through crazy tests, MRIs, then finally my mom recommended going to the gynecologist. She put me on Yaz, and ever since then, my periods are so light and only one day. I have no acne whatsoever, no mood swings, barely any cramps, and I no longer get extremely sick. I love Yaz and will never take anything else."

For Birth Control "I was on Yaz for over a year before I had Mirena put in. I had really heavy periods and severe cramping before I was on Yaz, and Yaz made my periods almost invisible. No cramping, light bleeding, and I had energy. Recommend."

For Birth Control "I started Yaz because I wanted to switch from my old birth control. My gynecologist suggested Yaz because of the fewer days off of hormones. I finished out my last pack of my old pill and switched to Yaz. About 2 days into it, I had severe stomach cramping. I didn’t put two and two together, I missed work for 2 days and honestly thought I was constipated. The cramping continued once I returned to work, it was throughout the day, and food seemed to subside it at times. It would really hurt in the middle of the night and in the mid-afternoon. I debated going to the hospital or doctor to figure out what was wrong. Fast forward through the whole pack, I got to the placebo pills. Within two days, the stomach cramps were gone. I thought whatever was wrong was better. I took my first hormone pill on Sunday, and Monday I had intense cramping again. Not everyone is the same, so it may work for you, it just was not a good experience for me."

For Birth Control "I'm 26 and was on Yaz for 8 months, first time taking birth control pills. I had very tender breasts and a light two-week period for the first month. It made my acne disappear and made my body hair slightly thinner/took care of a weird chin hair that I had. No noticeable weight gain or loss. I had vaginal dryness throughout, just took a little more time to get me going, although no change in sex drive. Experienced vaginal irritation post-pill due to soap I was using. Periods never got lighter/shorter. Only slightly reduced PMS (cramps, bloating, etc.)"

For Menstrual Disorders "I have been taking Yaz for 4 years, due to an irregular cycle related to ovarian cysts. I am pleased that my periods are shorter, and there is absolutely no cramping. It has helped alleviate hormonal migraines, and my skin has never been more clear. Prior to birth control, my cycle was completely irregular, such as skipping months altogether, and it was frustrating being so unpredictable. Now, I know exactly when my period is coming. The only negatives: I did gain a little weight, and it is expensive since I don't have insurance."

For Birth Control "I've been on Yaz Plus for about a month now. I was worried at first from hearing about the blood clots, however, I find that there was not much to worry about. My first experience was breaking out. A lot. I also found my period to extend much longer, spotting for another 5 days after, and I was getting a little worried, but after 2 weeks of that, everything got better. My skin cleared up (any other breakouts were mostly from the heat), and it didn't really cause any cramps. I didn't find my sex drive to be any less than it was before, and overall, a positive experience so far."

For Acne "My reason for taking Yaz was my bad cystic acne, which completely stopped in the 1st week! Wow, right? Now just waiting for the skin to heal. However, my last week was kinda hell, constipated for more than 4 days and starting to get cramps, worse than before. My mental stability was a bit rough the 1st week. I'm giving it 3 months to see what happens, feeling hopeful as my body is adjusting!"

For Birth Control "This was the second BC I have ever taken. It was absolutely terrible. I have always had light periods (panty liner light) and no cramps. When I took this birth control, I had such horrible cramps that I kept throwing up. I continued to take it, but after bleeding like a waterfall for a week and a half, I called my doctor. She told me that I had to finish taking it for a month or else I had the possibility of bleeding to death. So I bled the entire month. I didn't receive another period until 3 months later. Don't take this birth control."

For Birth Control "I've used Yaz for 4 years now, and I am switching because of the price, but out of the 4 years, Yaz was excellent. I never had weight gain, it helped with my acne, and periods were about 3 days long with lighter cramping than before I was on it. I would continue to use it if the price wasn't $89. So I love it and recommend it."

For Birth Control "I've been on this for almost two months now, and in my short experience, it has done wonders. My old periods would cause severe cramps, nausea, vomiting, periods lasting up to 16 days, and horrible mood swings. For roughly the two weeks around my period, I was so sad and honestly thought there was something wrong with me. But now, my periods (so far) are short, almost painless, and no vomiting. My mood swings have toned down so much I forgot what it was like to be this calm. The only issue I find is I have gained fat (but not weight??) as I've eaten more, so that really is my own fault. And I have very tender, dense, sore breasts that I can't sleep on my stomach anymore. But this definitely isn't as bad as how I used to be, so very good!"

For Birth Control "This pill was horrid. I had irregular periods with a very heavy flow, mood swings, depression, anxiety, anger issues, cramps, etc. This is the worst pill I've ever taken. Gave it a 3 because it worked as a birth control, but other than that, it's a 1."

For Acne "I came off Tri-Lo, and I started using Yaz to fix my acne (moderate to severe). I also went on Yasmin to fix my acne (it was much, much better). I have been on this pill for nearly 3 months and am so anxious to change it. There has been no positive change regarding my acne issues. My depression has gotten worse as a side effect. Usually, my PMS starts a day or two before my period, but on Yaz, it starts around a full week prior, and it's a lot more intense. When I was on Tri-Lo, I only got cramps a bit, and they weren't very painful. On Yaz, I've gotten cramps for each period, and each time has been increasingly painful. I get yeast infections before every period. I have never gotten a yeast infection before using Yaz!!!"

For Birth Control "I was on Yaz for a year and a half, and then decided to switch to LoSeasonique so that I would only have 4 periods a year. Big mistake! I am switching back to Yaz because of the side effects of LoSeasonique. On Yaz, I always knew when my period would start, and it was only about 3 days. It also helped with my awful cramps. I had no bad side effects from Yaz at all. I would definitely recommend it, but know that every pill has a different effect on each person."

For Birth Control "I have been suffering with extremely, EXTREMELY heavy, long, and moody periods since I was 12. I am now 18 and have had the Implanon rod inserted, which did nothing, and then put on the pill alongside another medication to lighten the blood flow. This is the third pill I have tried, hoping it would help my periods. The first week of taking Yaz, I am anxious, moody, having headaches every day, and suffering cramps and body aches. I am now booking in to see a gynecologist, and I advise anybody who has been through years of crazy periods to skip the doctors and go straight to a specialist."

For Birth Control "I’ve been on Yaz for almost 2 months, and I hate it. I have heightened smell. I’ve actually thrown up due to it. I’m noticing my mood swings are going from 0-10 really quick, my poor boyfriend has also noticed. I’ve broken out so badly with acne, and I’ve also been spotting now for almost 2 weeks, now becoming heavier bleeding and cramps. Going to switch pills as I feel disgusting and can’t even be intimate with my dang birth control, so Yaz has been a huge waste of time for this girl."
