For Birth Control "I have been on Yaz almost a month. The reason why I picked and like this medication is because it doesn't give me mood swings, which every other birth control always causes. My complaints are that I have seen random acne pop up here and there on my face and a little breakthrough bleeding. I also have cravings and get super nauseous at the thought of certain foods. I am definitely a picky eater now and would prefer not to eat than eat something that turns my stomach (which seems to be a lot of things lately). My breasts are more 'perky' and all my milk from my son has dried up fairly quickly. I do get dizzy, it's happened twice only. I also feel a little spacey, but it's getting better. Not sure about weight gain, if any."

For Birth Control "I've been on Yaz for a year and a half. Before I was ever on birth control, I was very calm and a very easygoing person. Ever since I went on Yaz, I've been overly moody and angry all the time. I've lost my interest in doing anything new, and now my husband and I fight all the time. I also bleed irregularly and have constant random spotting. On top of that, I developed gallstones and had to have my gallbladder removed. The only good thing that Yaz has done for me is prevent pregnancy. The only reason I haven't changed to a different birth control is because I have been overseas until a few weeks ago, and the birth control I want was not available there. I have an appointment to change birth control this week."

For Menstrual Disorders "I was taking this pill for PCOS. I was fine for the first 24 days. After the 4 days of not taking it, I then resumed, and I started bleeding, but the pain that has come with it is unbearable. I'm now going onto my 5th day of intense pain. I too have taken myself off this pill, and I hope the pain subsides soon."

"Was on BC when I was 18, had every side effect possible with the pill, stayed on it about 3 weeks. Was afraid to start BC again because of past experiences. I'm 25 now and was recommended Yaz because of adult acne after pregnancy. The first 3 months were fine, no side effects, and my face has been clearing up great. 2 weeks into month 4, and I have literally gained over half a stone in 2 weeks and severe bloating. I've been bleeding for the last 3 weeks. Don't know what's going on, but I'm stopping it as of now. Would not recommend this."

For Birth Control "Everyone has different experiences, Yaz was not the pill for me. I was on it for 3 months, and while I was diligent about taking it and it did prevent pregnancy, the side effects made me switch pills. My mood swings were awful. One minute I’d be fine, and then I’d be biting someone’s head off for no reason, and then I’d be sobbing for no reason. It also made my period symptoms worse. The cramping was bad! I had zero sex drive, and my bleeding was heavier than I had experienced since middle school. It also did nothing to help with my acne, which I was really hoping it would. I am almost 26, and I’ve been on birth control since I was 14, but I stopped for a year or two before I got into a serious relationship. This pill does not work for everyone."

For Acne "Just wanted to add my review in hopes of helping someone make their choice. I started Yaz almost 3 months ago due to PMDD, acne, and heavy bleeding. Yaz had solved all these issues and even more. My acne is gone, just working on pigmentation at this point. PMDD is more mild and manageable. My period was 9 days and now when I stop taking my pills it’s 4-5 days. I read these reviews up and down trying to weigh my options if I take it or not. I’m glad I did end up going with Yaz. My life doesn’t revolve around reading these reviews and trying to clear up my acne. Only downside is I did have a few weeks of spotting, but that stopped in my second pack and taking my pill exactly on time."

For Acne "I used Yaz (both brand name and generic) for 18 months over 3 years. Good: Balanced my mood. Skipped periods. Skin and hair were clear and shiny - fixed an ongoing breakout almost immediately. After about 6 months, the bad: weight gain, 2 months of constant breakthrough bleeding, varicose veins, severe dry eye that sporadically continues after stopping Yaz - eye drops have no effect."

For Birth Control "DO NOT RECOMMEND. I switched from the standard pill to Yaz due to intense breast tenderness. After taking Yaz, my breasts went from a 12DD to a 12F - none of my clothes fit me, and everything is uncomfortable. I experienced bleeding for several weeks and severe cramping that made me bedridden. My doctor said it would take up to 3 months for it to kick into my system - I took it for 5 months and still the same result. I have switched back to the normal pill. Guess I'll just have to cope with the tender breasts!"

For Birth Control "So I’m 20 days in and haven’t gotten to the days before my period, but so far I’m great!!! Honestly, I feel happier than usual, and it’s calmed down my anxiety. I have increased one or two sizes in bras, but that’s alright, but something to be aware of! I’m feeling great except for a few minor side effects. I’ve got fairly bad breakthrough bleeding, but I did struggle with this even before taking Yaz (which in England is called Eloine). Also, I’ve got a bit of a stomach problem and diarrhea, but yet again, I had this before slightly anyway. I would say that everyone reacts differently, but I would recommend Yaz/Eloine from my experience. Also, I struggle with acne, and at the moment it’s about the same as usual, to be honest, so I haven’t seen much change. It’s definitely better than some of the pills with horrendous side effects. I was first prescribed Ridgevadon, but after reading reviews I begged to switch! Worth it!!"

For Birth Control "I was on Yaz for one and a half months, and I had to get off it mid-pack. There are some good points. It made my period really light, and I had no cramps at all. Unlike other BCs that I have taken in the past, Yaz gave me the least breakthrough bleeding. There was little spotting the first few days, and after it was gone, which I thought was pretty great. However, it made me incredibly sad. I was soaking in this great despair and had no idea what was going on with me. I am usually a positive lady and never felt like this in my entire life. My sex drive was lower than usual, and I also got a yeast infection for the first time ever. I have a head full of hair, and I started to lose so much within a month that I am completely shocked. My OBGYN advised I should be on the pill for at least three months so that my body gets used to it. I tried, but the depression and hair fall are too much to bear in the middle of a global pandemic!"

For Birth Control "I was on the Depo shot for about 3 years and went off it (only because it is recommended to take breaks from it) and went on Yaz. I am aware that each birth control affects everyone differently, I had a horrible experience. Breakthrough bleeding, severe mood swings, headaches, and unpredictable periods. I got off it after 3 months and am about to try Sprintec...here's hoping this works out better!"

For Birth Control "I was put on Yaz about 5 weeks ago. At first, I had no side effects. After I started the second set, I started bleeding. It has been ongoing for 10 days now, and all I want to do is cry. I have no energy, and it did not help with straightening out my period like the doctor said it would. I stopped taking it, and I feel better, just gotta figure out why I'm still bleeding. The doctor said I was premenopausal. I seriously doubt birth control can help with that. I'm ready for a second opinion. I will never take Yaz ever again. Plus, the pain was 10 times worse."

For Birth Control "I'm 20 years old and have been on birth control for 2 years now. I've tried every pill and even the implant. Each of them has caused horrid pains and bleeding. I haven't gotten pregnant but experience bad moods and weight gain. No doctor can seem to help. It's very frustrating that at each doctor's visit I've only been prescribed a higher dosage of the pill (now Yaz). I feel like the only person who is experiencing this, and if the doctors can't help, what the heck am I supposed to do?"

For Acne "Yaz was my first birth control pill, and it was really good for me at the start. I hate to be one of those downer comments on here. I remember googling reviews for what felt like every possible birth control option. At the start, it was very good to me, no bloating (which I thought was amazing because I get bloated quite easily!), my skin was less oily, but my hormonal acne on my chin didn't clear up, it wasn't as bad I guess. Sometimes it was pretty clear, other times it wasn't. I will say I never got headaches or anything like that at the start. But for the first month, I felt so dead and hated life and everyone. I didn't want to do anything, and I get really sad at random times, but it's like for 10 seconds, lol. At the end of my second cycle, I messed up and ended up missing a pill for a few hours (which I have done before once, and it didn't affect me), but this time it did, and I have been bleeding for up to 9 days, still bleeding."

For Birth Control "My bleeding is way, way heavier, but my cramps are way lighter. I'm spotting nonstop right now. Hopefully, my cycle will rework itself in month two."

For Menstrual Disorders "As we know, not all birth controls work for all people the same. This being said, for me, Yaz was the worst birth control. I experienced frequent bleeding, very decreased sex drive, dryness, and severe migraines. Happy to say after 5 months, I have switched off of it. The only good thing was it was very effective if used only for birth control. Wish me luck with the next one."
