For Insomnia "1/2 tablet 1-2 times per week, only if you really, really need it, otherwise, resistance builds, and you will soon need a whole tablet or more for the same effect."

For Insomnia "I was taking a half dose (one tablet) for improved sleep. As a senior, minor disruptions to sleep are common, and Ibuprofen PM seemed a mild and appropriately effective aid when needed. Concerns arose, and I share them here for your consideration. 1) While not addictive (it seems), the trend to seek more frequent use and increased dose does occur. 2) Of greater concern is professional medical findings of negative effects from the included component of diphenhydramine (the anticholinergic as used for sleep issues) on cognitive abilities -- particularly for dementia in seniors. Medical literature lists common additional side effects as drowsiness, dizziness, hangover feeling, upset stomach, heartburn, diarrhea, constipation, dry mouth, nose and throat, blurred vision, mild itching, or ringing in ears. I recommend caution for those over 60 (I'm 79), and consideration of recommended warnings for use for those aged over 65-70? Better to not mix the two medications (effects)."
