For Irritable Bowel Syndrome "I took the first dicyclomine dose, 20 mg, for IBS pain. After an hour, I felt drowsiness, lightness, swelling of the face with a flush. After that, I experienced horrible stomach pain. I don't recommend anyone take this."

Dicyclomine for Irritable Bowel Syndrome "This medication is a literal lifesaver for my Crohn's. The side effects may be irritating to put up with, but I would rather the occasional drowsiness than frequent stomach pain, nausea, or inconsistent bowel movements. It helps me to actually go to the bathroom, even though my GI doctor warned me that some people experience constipation. This medication has saved me from being inconsistent with work and school. I don't have to worry about any discomfort while out and about."

For Irritable Bowel Syndrome "Very effective for making my bowel cramps go away. I like that I do get drowsy because I do not feel good during my IBS episodes, and this helps me to rest better. The only bad thing is when I take it late in the day, the next morning and good portion of the day I am groggy, and it's hard to get up. I am very grateful to have something for pain that's safe, non-habit forming, and works well all the time."

For Noninfectious Colitis "Have been diagnosed with ulcerative colitis/Crohn's disease for just over a year now. Took dicyclomine from the very beginning. It seems to work pretty well getting rid of the abdominal pain. However, because I am on so many different medicines (10), I cannot say for sure which medicine helped with what or caused whichever side effect. I have experienced nausea, lack of appetite, drowsiness, dizziness, insomnia, dehydration, and severe headaches."

For Noninfectious Colitis "This stuff is really a miracle pill. It works fast, relieving my cramps within 10 to 15 minutes! I can drink coffee again! The only problem I have with it is the headache I get afterward. It makes me drowsy, but for the most part, I can still function."

For Irritable Bowel Syndrome "I've had IBS for 6 years. This is the only medication that has worked for me. The only thing is it makes me drowsy, but I also take 2 pills a day."

For Irritable Bowel Syndrome "Works relatively fast to stop my intestinal spasms. However, I end up feeling extremely drowsy, like I had just taken an opioid painkiller. I much prefer Buscopan for my IBS symptoms."

Dicyclomine for Irritable Bowel Syndrome "Double-edged sword for me. I take it for Crohn's disease. If I start cramping up and take Bentyl, it does typically help with bowel spasms fairly well. On the flip side of that, it tends to make me a bit drowsy and kind of lethargic, and occasionally causes panic attacks and anxiety that last for a few hours. Kinda have to weigh the risks with rewards though."
