For Birth Control "STAY AWAY! I’ve been on Enskyce for two months and have decided to call it quits. I have had three full periods while on active pills per my IVF doctor. Spotting if I’m not actively bleeding, migraines every day that I cannot get control of, and major mood swings, mostly the urge to cry. I’ve also experienced weight gain and cystic acne. I don’t know what I’ll be on next, but I’ll never take Enskyce again. It has controlled my everyday life."

For Birth Control "My sister switched to this birth control after I had such a success with it. I haven't noticed any weight gain, in fact, I have successfully lost weight on it after making some dietary changes. I get more emotional than usual the first day back on it after taking the 4th week off. Besides that, no complaints. So glad to find a birth control that works for me without any crazy side effects. Been over 2 years on it now. LOVE it."

For Birth Control "I’ve been taking Kariva for 6 years now for painful periods. I only take ibuprofen for 1-2 days now during my period as opposed to 5. My bleeding went from heavy to moderate and my period went from 8 days to 4-5, but that’s about the only benefit. Over time, my side effects have gotten much worse to the point I’m considering stopping usage. My sex drive is nonexistent, and sex has become very painful over the years due to dryness. I keep up with my annual gyno exams, and we’ve concluded that the pill is to blame. I never had a single yeast infection or BV in my life until taking this medication, and now they’re a yearly occurrence. I also have noticed more mood swings, and I’m much more emotional than I used to be. At this point, Kariva is very negatively affecting my relationship, and I wish I would’ve tried other alternatives to fix my painful periods before jumping on birth control. There’s an underlying reason behind painful periods, and taking birth control is just masking the problem."

For Birth Control "I've been on Reclipsen for a few years now. I loved it, had no problems until the past 8 months. My PMS-type symptoms grew increasingly worse and have started to severely affect my life. I feel crazy, mood swings changing within the same hour. Depressed and feeling like something is always off and wrong. Will be switching birth control next week."

For Birth Control "Been on Kariva for 2 months, and it has its good and bad. BAD: I have never experienced such bad mood swings in my life. I have little patience, I get extremely mad and aggravated very easily. I can be happy one minute, then CRAZY another minute. So be aware of the horrible mood swings. Didn't do anything for my 7-day period. I break out a week before my period. GOOD: it does prevent you from getting pregnant, even in the first month."

For Birth Control "I’ve been on Apri for about 4 years now. For the first 3 months or so, the mood swings and agitation were almost too much for me to be around some people. I did feel as though I gained some water weight, and my boobs went from a B to a D over the course of that time. My acne got a little worse before it got better. Now, with being on it for so long, I think it’s great for me. My skin is incredibly clear, I have control over my weight (at least it seems), and I can skip my periods with no issue. I do have some lingering anxiety and get agitated a little easily sometimes, but it very well may be due to just me as a person in general. Once I go off it later in life, I'm interested to see how the anxiety does. Overall, I really really like this and will continue to stay on it for a while. It’s great once your body gets used to it, but everyone’s different."

For Birth Control "Enskyce honestly is the worst birth control I've had. I have had depression on a previous pill (Cyred) before, but that was always just two days before my period. This one gives me really bad mood swings, going from being fine to being super angry or completely depressed to the point of crying. This is all within the first two weeks of taking the pills. I've also started getting really bad headaches about an hour after taking the pill and have felt really fatigued. I have never experienced this many side effects within the first month of taking a birth control pill. I've been on Cyred and Reclipsen. Reclipsen was the best for me, but they changed it at the pharmacy because 'they're the same thing.' Obviously not."

For Birth Control "Started taking Reclipsen three months ago, and it was horrible. It brought on anxiety and intense mood swings, along with depression. I'm finally getting off of it, but do not buy this if you already have anxiety!"

For Birth Control "I'm 32 and started Isibloom in April. The first two weeks were awful. I had what I felt like were migraines. I wanted to give it a month, though. I began to experience major mood swings by week 4. I am normally a laid-back individual, and this made me feel crazy. But the real kicker happened in the 5th week of me being on this. I developed a blood clot in my leg. I thought it was just a pulled muscle. By the time I realized it wasn't because my calf swelled up 5 inches bigger than my other calf and my foot went numb, I had to be taken to the ER. They ordered me to stop taking the birth control and started me on a high dose of blood thinners. I just want to warn other women that the blood clots can happen! I'm sure all the other side effects can too. I should have stopped taking it when I developed the migraines in two weeks. I've never had this many problems with a birth control! Now I can't take oral birth control because I'm high risk for developing more clots."

For Birth Control "I switched to this by accident from Valette — on Valette I had a very stable mood, clear skin, no weight gain, etc. This pill, on the other hand, is horrible. I had nausea for the first week and a half, cramps for two weeks, and I’ve just come to the realization that my insane mood swings are from this pill. It’s making me very depressed, and I cry often."

For Birth Control "My doctor suggested Kariva to me because I was previously on Ortho Tri-Cyclen (which made me extremely moody/emotional) and more recently Lo-Estrin (which gave me no sex drive whatsoever and made me completely emotionless). I was anxious to find a happy medium after going from one extreme to the other. I've been on Kariva for three months now. I've never been one to have any type of headaches of any kind, and after being on Kariva I experience headaches multiple times a day. I'm extremely tired all the time and I've gained weight in my breasts (I'm naturally a D and I've gone up to a large DD). No sex drive, extreme mood swings, acne, and increased appetite. I can't wait to get off this pill. Look for other options before taking Kariva."

For Birth Control "A lot of these comments on here are negative and complaining about the pill when only using it for a few weeks or so. It takes ages to get your body regulated with the pill and normal. I have been on this pill for 6 1/2 years, nonstop. I get some mood swings around my period time, but that’s normal. The only thing I’d complain about is my sex drive is at an all-time low, but my acne and period are so much better."

For Birth Control "Honestly, I wouldn’t recommend Azurette. I’m 20 years old and I got the implant (Nexplanon) about a year ago, and I was totally fine. No periods, no mood swings, no cramps, nothing. It was wonderful. Then, I started getting periods every other week. So my doctor added Azurette. I’ve been on it for 3 months. I cannot explain how bad my emotions and mood swings have gotten being on this pill. The smallest thing will hurt my feelings, and I’ll burst into tears. Someone says something to me in a certain tone, and I’m angry, and it takes a while for me to calm down. I have a light period every day, so it didn’t help in that area either. I can deal with all of the side effects besides the fact that I am completely chemically imbalanced, and it’s the worst thing ever."

For Birth Control "I was put on this birth control pill in preparation for IVF. I've been on other birth control brands in the past and have never had an experience like this! It's only been one week and I am miserable. Incredibly depressed, emotional, fatigued, and unmotivated. I've also noticed a huge appetite increase. In the beginning, I was also super nauseous, but that is fairly typical in my experience. I know that different pills have different effects on people and it takes a while to adjust, but as I said, I've been on multiple brands and none has ever been this bad. All I want to do is sleep, eat, and cry. Good times."

For Birth Control "I have tried multiple forms of birth control, including the Kyleena IUD. I have awful cramps that make me cry and insane mood swings off and on different birth controls. I got prescribed this pill, and it has changed my life. I no longer have depression during different parts of my cycle, and the painful periods are gone! When I started, I did have some mild stomach upset after, but after an hour, it always goes away. If birth control others rave about doesn't work for you, I highly recommend trying this one."

For Birth Control "Isibloom is a decent birth control. The first month of taking it, I had nausea, tender breasts, mood swings, and low libido. Those were completely gone after the first pack. It keeps me regular, having short and light periods is wonderful compared to the time with no birth control. I’d bleed for 12-14 days straight, and the flow was very heavy. So Isibloom birth control works great for me, and I hope it will work well for you as well. Definitely recommend it!"

For Birth Control "I've been on Reclipsen for years now. It's been horrible, but I've felt trapped to stay on it. I do not believe in IUDs and many other forms of birth control, so my primary care doctor felt this low dose would be best. We've never had any unwanted pregnancy, so it's effective in that manner. But here are all the issues I've had with it: mood swings, depression, anxiety, emotional instability overall, low sex drive, vaginal dryness, and migraines. I'll be getting off of it soon with the guidance of a new OB/GYN."

For Birth Control "I’ve tried this brand twice, and each time just gets worse. First time trying, I was just nauseous and had no energy almost all day. Just started it again, and it’s awful! Mood swings like crazy, random crying out of nowhere, and feeling dizzy. Shouldn’t even be available to anyone."

For Birth Control "I did not believe the reviews when they said their sex drive was next to nothing on this pill because I was a very active person, but lo and behold. My boyfriend thinks I don’t want him anymore, and the mood swings and blind rage I experience on this pill do not help. The only reason he stayed is because he knew what I was like before this pill. I just switched birth control, so I’m hoping for the best."

For Birth Control "I went on Apri after taking Tri-Sprintec for 2.5 years. I have now been on Apri for about a year. Before taking Apri, I struggled with breakthrough bleeding and very irregular periods. Now my period is so consistent and short. My period went from 6 days to 2-3 with no spotting. It was a life changer. Every person is different, so do not take the super negative reviews seriously. Apri has changed my life!! If you struggle with breakthrough bleeding, super long periods, or irregular periods, I 100% recommend this option. I get no acne, and my mood swings are no worse than they were normally, LOL!! Good luck on your journey!"

For Birth Control "When I started this birth control, I had really intense mood swings. I even started struggling at work with handling my emotions, and as a reasonably tempered person, I was scared. Within the first couple of weeks, I called the National Suicide Hotline for the first time ever. I’ve had a major drop in weight because of loss in appetite. The mood swings subsided within the first three weeks or so. This birth control also caused a yeast infection that could not be cured by over-the-counter Monistat. I had to go see my doctor. So, I have yet to even 'put it to use,' as it has been a month and a half of incredibly painful, unbearable even, intercourse. I would only recommend this birth control if this is the only option available for you or if your only concern is gaining weight."

For Birth Control "I'm going into my fourth month taking Viorele, and I'm surprised at how well my body has reacted to this BC. I was on Lo Loestrin Fe (for about 6 months) and Gildess Fe (about two years) prior to switching to Viorele. I haven't had any migraines, mood swings, or breakouts since starting the pill. I usually have all those symptoms when starting something new. Also, my period cramping, bloating, and pain have significantly decreased with the help of this pill. It also helped clear up my cystic acne, and my weight has remained stable. The only negative about Viorele for me was the extreme tenderness and soreness in my breasts. My breasts are the most painful upon waking up in the morning, but then the feeling somewhat subsides. I'm pretty happy."

For Birth Control "I’m getting married in May, so I got on birth control to prevent pregnancy in the future and to regulate my period. The first week, my breasts were extremely tender, and I had a snobby attitude, but I was also in a musical at our local theatre, so that could’ve caused mood changes. My mood seems normal now, my acne has cleared up, my breasts have stopped hurting, so now I’m just waiting on my period to start. According to my Flo app, I’m supposed to start my period this week. I haven’t had any problems with Isibloom yet! Praises so far!"

For Birth Control "I've been taking Apri for a little over a year now. My breasts have grown almost 2 full cup sizes, but I have not gained weight anywhere else. So I'm ecstatic. No cramps, 5-day periods, no mood swings, not pregnant. I love this pill!"
