Desogestrel / ethinyl estradiol for Birth Control "I've been on Reclipsen for 7 months so far, and I believe this will be my last. I started tracking how I feel every single day up to my cycle day. I started to realize recurring symptoms on the same cycle days of the medication! I'm finally throwing in the hat. Last month, my neck became sore, and my shoulders and back pain have escalated! Well, now I can't even move my neck side to side on the same cycle day. I believe this medicine has not helped my IBS (irritable bowel syndrome), has made me have heart palpitations, a few days before my period I get really deeply depressed on the same day every month and have extreme dark thoughts. I've had toothaches, headaches, strong cramps, black blood, bladder pain, extreme weight loss, no appetite, dizziness, seizures, constant anxiety, extreme fatigue, and weakness, and all these weird things over the course of the last few months. My periods wouldn't come till 4 days into the sugar pills, and I would suffer the last week of the pills, and 3 days into my period."

Desogestrel / ethinyl estradiol for Birth Control "I think this medication can work for some people, but for me, I’m fed up. I’m just another one of those youths that got yelled at by their parent to get on birth control with no support to actually get birth control. I was too embarrassed to ask my doctor, so I just went on Pill Club. What’s the harm of anti-social convenience, right? Three years later, I gained nearly 50 pounds, lost my sex drive (I’m a Scorpio… that’s like unreal.), and had anxiety attacks that’d last hours for the first time in my life (I had anxiety prior but never an actual attack…). I kept using it because I was uncertain if it was contributing, and my husband was a pharmacy tech at the time-now physical trainer-that said it was highly unlikely that the birth control was causing my concerns. Three years later, I’m over it. I’m convinced it is the culprit and want my life back. Ditching this birth control and the doctor I was uncomfortable with so I can get in better health."

Desogestrel / ethinyl estradiol for Birth Control "Apri made me feel really nauseous when I first started taking it. That went away in about a week, but two weeks in, my anxiety and depression went through the roof. It made me gain a little weight as well... Not for me."

Desogestrel / ethinyl estradiol for Birth Control "I’ve been on Viorele for 4 months. At first, all was great. But then I started having severe side effects. First was painful, cystic hormonal acne, and I’ve never struggled with acne. Then, slow sex drive, like zero, which has impacted my relationship with my partner. I noticed I was having severe PMS, depression, anxiety a week before my period. Now it’s turned into full-blown panic attacks, which I’ve never experienced before, and it’s scary. I feel fatigued, depressed, anxious, dizzy, and weak all the time. I do not feel like myself, and it’s really impacted my life. I also gained 15 pounds, even though I eat pretty healthy and work out. I would NOT recommend this BC. It’s horrible. I can’t believe it’s even on the market. Beware!"

Desogestrel / ethinyl estradiol for Birth Control "This was my first time ever on birth control, and it was an awful experience. I started out feeling nauseous and depressed within the first few weeks, and it only got worse. I started feeling extremely paranoid and anxious, uncontrollably crying, irrational thinking, and feeling emotionally detached almost, if not, every day. People very close in my life started to notice and mentioned I started acting this way when I started the pill, so I talked to my doctor and switched brands, and I’ve felt more like myself ever since. The only upside was that I was not pregnant, my period was always on time, even though I still had unbearable cramps and heavy bleeding."

For Polycystic Ovary Syndrome "I experienced a lot of anxiety and sudden depression. I felt unusually withdrawn from myself and others. Be careful if you are mood sensitive to hormones. Please do your research before taking this contraceptive. Desogestrel is known for mood problems and depression by the NIH. I feel GREAT now that I stopped it. I'm going to ask for LO/OVRAL instead."

Desogestrel / ethinyl estradiol for Birth Control "My doctor switched me to this birth control to help control my endometriosis. Not only did this make it worse, it caused a lot of other symptoms. Was only on it for 2 months before I couldn’t take it anymore. I gained 16 pounds, extremely irritable, mood swings, and severely increased my anxiety and depression."

Desogestrel / ethinyl estradiol for Birth Control "I started using birth control through the Pill Club and was originally prescribed Cyred EQ, which works wonders for me, but then my orders of it were replaced with Isibloom, which apparently is the generic version. Within days, I started spotting dark blood and noticed other changes. My breasts were so swollen my bras didn’t fit, I experienced horrible headaches and joint pains, I was irritable, moody, and so unbelievably anxious and paranoid. I constantly felt on edge and even had suicidal thoughts. If you have a history of mental illness, DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICATION. It amplified my anxiety and BPD times 10. Isibloom has been a nightmare."

Desogestrel / ethinyl estradiol for Birth Control "I tried this pill to help with cramps, and I haven’t had the greatest experience. It’s definitely not the worst pill ever, but I’ve had a few problems with it. I noticed that it’s made my anxiety worse (I was previously diagnosed with it), and I get a lot of random headaches. Periods are pretty normal, you get little weird cramps when PMSing. You get them for a few minutes, and they go away all throughout the week. Didn’t make the period much lighter or shorter. Usually lasts 5 days, but cramps aren’t bad. It’s probably different for everybody."

Desogestrel / ethinyl estradiol for Birth Control "I started this birth control four weeks ago. Two or three days after being on it, I started to feel weird, blurry and sensitive vision, felt dizzy every day, and worst of all, anxiety. My anxiety increased every day being on it. I have never had an anxiety problem, but with this pill, I was always on edge, intrusive thoughts 24/7, scared of everything, never wanting to leave my house. I had eight panic attacks in the span of two weeks and no exaggeration, these panic attacks were real and scary. I thought, “Oh, my body is just getting used to the changes, I’ll be okay.” But I couldn’t push through, it’s not worth it. I would rather get pregnant than feel the way I did. Everyone’s different and won’t have the same experience, but if you do, just know you are not alone, the mental and physical exhaustion. I finally stopped taking it three days ago, and I can tell you today I feel like myself again. My anxiety has magically disappeared like nothing, and I’m starting to feel healthier."

Desogestrel / ethinyl estradiol for Birth Control "Don't take it if you have anxiety. I took Apri for 2 months and one week. It was prescribed to me for acne and painful cramps. It did the job with my cramps, I didn't get any, and my periods were super light and manageable. My acne got worse for a bit but just started to clear up at the beginning of the 3rd month. Apri made my anxiety worse. I am a very anxious person. It wasn't the medication itself, but knowing the possibly dangerous side effects made me anxious. I would get super anxious randomly throughout the day, feel tightness in my chest, my heart would beat very hard. At night, I would tremble and get pins and needles and leg cramps. It would take me about 3 hours to fall asleep. I would twitch when trying to fall asleep and would wake up throughout the night. I started taking CBD oil, and it cleared up most of my physical anxiety, but I was still paranoid. I stopped taking Apri, and after a week, I felt perfectly normal again."

Desogestrel / ethinyl estradiol for Birth Control "I have been on the pill for about 3 months, and I am having no negative side effects. I notice I still have mood swings closer to the end of my pack as if I'm PMSing. But I feel normal, my anxiety is under control. My appetite picked up, but I'm on the road to making some better diet changes. Don't listen to all the bad reviews because I've tried numerous birth controls that have made me feel crazy or pain to worsen. This has been a breeze."

Desogestrel / ethinyl estradiol for Birth Control "Got almost every side effect possible with this medication. I can’t keep food down and am losing weight. Sweating and migraines 24/7. Also, random anxiety attacks for no reason at all. Wouldn’t recommend even trying it. I don’t feel like myself at all, mentally or physically, on this medication."

Desogestrel / ethinyl estradiol for Birth Control "The Cyred pill heightened my depression and anxiety. I've been on it for six months now. I was fine the first few months, but once I got to my fourth month using it, things got worse. It's a normal thing for me to cry myself to sleep now, and I am always so anxious. I know I'm not an angry person, but this pill has definitely made me one. Also, I never used to get cramps during my period, but now I do. It made me break out like crazy, but it's starting to clear up. The only thing I can't complain about is the fact that my periods are very regular now. Cyred was not good for me, so I have switched."

Desogestrel / ethinyl estradiol for Birth Control "I was on Cyred EQ for about six months. I took it at night, and after taking it, I was extremely tired. I can't imagine what would happen if I had taken it during the day. My acne cleared up a little bit, but not all the way; still a few pimples here and there. I was also more irritable, lashing out at family and crying about anything that stressed me out. I had major anxiety while taking this. I was also sort of dry down there and lost my libido."

Desogestrel / ethinyl estradiol for Birth Control "I switched to Cyred after my last cycle. I’m almost done with the package, and my skin has broken out. I personally usually have very clear skin. I started getting nauseous in the second week, but it has gotten a bit better. I get anxiety every now and then and have several mood swings. Even though I have migraines, I haven't experienced headaches. Overall, it’s affecting my mood and skin in a bad way, so I don't think I’ll even open my next pack that I got. It also makes my stomach hurt really bad at times."

For Birth Control "I started taking this mini pill as I have bad period pains and a boyfriend. I didn't experience problems with acne or weight gain. But I had trouble from the beginning with constant bleeding. I would have a normal 7-day period, have a day break, then it would start all over again but heavier and more painfully crippling. For 14 days or so, I would be miserable, full of anxiety or emotional. My sex drive was fine, but I couldn't have sex as I was bleeding all the time. My doctor said it would take a year to normalize. But I'd rather not spend two weeks of every month bleeding and miserable. It's just not worth it."

Desogestrel / ethinyl estradiol for Birth Control "This pill is AMAZING! I’ve been on it for about 3 months now and have had no problems except the occasional moodiness and anxiety. I have been losing weight on this pill as well! It makes my periods lighter, and I’ve had no problem with sex drive. I definitely recommend this pill to anyone who is looking for a new birth control."

Desogestrel / ethinyl estradiol for Birth Control "Cramping, spotting, headaches, slight sinus pain, severe paranoia and anxiety, and awful mood swings. I've only been on Isibloom for 2 weeks but can tell the changes. I'll stick it out, but if it doesn't get better by the time this month is up, I'm contacting my doctor to change my meds."

Desogestrel / ethinyl estradiol for Birth Control "Reclipsen was recommended to me by my doctor when I was on other previous birth control because the dosage wasn't strong enough. I have been on Reclipsen regularly for about a year now, and my depression and anxiety are through the roof. Everything makes me irritable, and I always want to be left alone. It feels horrible! I was not always this way. Before the pill, I was much more relaxed and enjoyed company! I do not recommend this pill to anyone and will not be taking it anymore. Too much stress and anxiety on my body. I always feel fatigue, exhausted, no energy, or sex drive!"

Desogestrel / ethinyl estradiol for Birth Control "When I first started taking Apri, which was a year ago, I found that it changed my mood a lot, making me depressed, anxious, and angry all the time for no reason. Also, I have been having lots of cravings. But on the good side, I feel like I can trust this brand of birth control a lot to keep me from being pregnant. Also, not many side effects, no headaches or nausea. I’ve now been taking it for almost a year now, and my body has been getting used to it a lot."

Desogestrel / ethinyl estradiol for Birth Control "I've been on Viorele for the past year and a half. At first, it was great! It got rid of my cramps, it regulated my period, and it worked in respect to preventing pregnancy, but for the past 6 months, I experienced a severe decrease in my libido, almost it was nonexistent. When I did want to have sex, I experienced severe pain, which I didn't experience prior. I was agitated, and my anxiety and depression were worse. I'm now looking for a different birth control."

Desogestrel / ethinyl estradiol for Birth Control "I have been taking Apri for a few years and generally have no concerns at all. Periods are managed perfectly - last 4 days and are always the same. The only downside is that I have more anxiety with this pill, and it doesn’t control my acne very well. I am switching soon just to see if those symptoms will improve — but if they don’t, I’m definitely going back to Apri."

Desogestrel / ethinyl estradiol for Birth Control "Apri has been my first and only birth control experience; it has been pretty fine, but I'm considering switching to see if there's anything that works better for me. Pros- ~Little to no acne! (better than before I was on it) ~Light periods of 4 days during the sugar pill week (prior to the pill they used to be 6-7) ~My boobs inflated a little, went up a cup size ~No weight gain! (managed to lose 10 lbs- that was through diet & exercise though) ~Minimal cramping Cons- ~3-4 really heavy days of bleeding during the 2nd week regularly. Maybe it's just a me problem, I don't know. ~Have been super depressed, anxious, and moody, but who knows if the pill is the cause or my life in general ~Sex drive dropped a ton ~Blood pressure rose ~Slight nausea during period"
