"I’ve had trouble sleeping over the last few months (falling asleep and staying asleep), so my doctor recommended Quviviq 50mg. After reading the pamphlet that came along with the medication I cozied up and waited for a great nights sleep. And waited…holding onto hope I tried it a few times to see if it was a fluke, but after reading other reviews I am relieved to know it isn’t just me. And, the itching!! I’m glad I can pinpoint it now. Thankfully, I was put on Ambien which is more effective for me. The Quviviq also amplified my anxiety and depression. Maybe it affects others differently, but it definitely wasn’t for me. Hopefully you all have better results. Happy sleeping"

"I have suffered from insomnia for quite some time and was prescribed Quviviq 50 mg. I have tried multiple sleep aids in the past and was hopeful this would work. Unfortunately, this medication has not helped, I am still up every hour and not even sleepy."

"I've struggled with insomnia for years and have tried all types of sleeping aids including Ambien in both standard and extended-release, Seroquel (I'm bipolar), and melatonin. Whenever I took Ambien or Seroquel, I'd fall asleep within a reasonable timeframe, but I would wake up feeling like I had a hangover. And this was regardless of the dosage. Not much luck with melatonin either. Hydroxyzine has proven effective for falling asleep, but ineffective in maintaining it. My sleep doctor recommended Quviviq with hope it would improve my sleep as well as CPAP utilization. Quviviq proved helpful for me in getting a restful night's sleep with no morning hangover effects IF (emphasis on IF) I took it with Hydroxyzine. Despite being unable to fall asleep with Quviviq alone, I think it would be an effective sleep aid for most users with the added benefit of waking up rested and not hungover."

"This is my 5th night on Quviviq and so far I have not had a restful night's sleep. It seems to put me into a 20-minute loop of sleep followed by wakefulness. I might have to go back to my previous Trazodone and Doxepin mix."

"So I’ve tried numerous sleep medications and they all haven’t worked. Found the commercial for this and asked my dr for it. It’s the worst medicine I’ve ever taken. The medicine made me feel terrible within the first hour of taking it. I tried it 2 nights just to give it a fighting chance. The night terrors I experienced were horrible. I was screaming for help in my sleep and couldn’t open my eyes or move. It was terrifying. I also had such bad restless legs all night. I will never touch this medication again and will never recommend it to anyone. I would give it a negative rating if I could."

"Horrible is the only thing I can say. I was so excited to get help sleeping. 1st night slept for 4 hours and woke up soaking wet, nightmares were awful, headaches and dry heaved all the next day, legs hurt, tongue-tingling felt worse than no sleep. But thought it was my body adapting to new meds. Tried next night and slept for one hour and. had nightmares again. I felt I needed to run and thought was being chased just to not be able to move. I dozed and woke up to bed soaked again from sweating and panic. Full terrified moment. Two days of bad side effects. Never taking again!!!"

"I’ve been taking Trazadone for many years but sometimes still wake up in the middle of the night. My doctor prescribed Quviviq 50mg and it was horrible. I tossed and turned all night for five nights in a row and became a complete zombie without sleep. It was not effective at all and caused next-day anxiety. Back on trazadone."

"The 50mg didn't really work but I found increasing the dose to two 50mg tablets works for me. I feel better the next day. My mood seems better, and I'm feeling a lot more positive! No known side effects so far! The only issue is my insurance doesn't want to cover it and it's too expensive to purchase without any help."

"This medication was supposed to help me take over from taking Ambien which wasn't effective anymore, but this medication is horrible. I have been on it for 8 nights and hasn't worked. I spoke to my primary doctor and just said to live with it till I see him in another week. Till then I am taking 50 mg of this product. After one night still no help. I feel this is a scam and has cost me a lot of money."

"This has got to be the world's most expensive placebo. It did absolutely nothing to help me sleep. After several days of not being able to sleep I went back to a muscle relaxer and a couple shots of whisky, this doesn't always get me to sleep the full night but I get to sleep quickly. The prescription was for 25mg, not sure if there are stronger dosages but it would have to be much more to help me."

"I haven’t slept more than 3 hours at a time and average 4-5 hours a night for the past few years. I retired 8 years ago so I’m not worried about next day tiredness but chronic insomnia is no fun. Tried many Rx sleep meds and was hoping that something new would help. First time I took a 25mg dose, I fell asleep in 30 minutes, woke up at 3 am and instead of being wide awake, I was tired and able to fallback to sleep. Second time I was awake for 2 hours before falling asleep and when I woke up at 3, I laid in bed wide awake for 2 hours and then got up for the day. Next time, same issues. This medication seems like a placebo to me. Maybe it works for people with mild sleep issues but not for my chronic insomnia."

"Quviviq must be taken in exact circumstances, and if you’re not extremely exhausted, you won’t be asleep more than 3 to 4 hours tops. This med needs a stronger dose or a way the patient can fix it to best suit us. Like, make a 30mg, a 20mg, and a 10 mg pill."

"Does not work at all. Calling my Dr. Monday morning to prescribe something more effective. Was prescribed 25 mg and had to up it to 50mg on my own and still doesn't work. I'm going to ask for Ambien and try my luck with that one. . Don't waste your time."

"I just had surgery and have had difficulty sleeping. Maybe this is too powerful for me because I slept 12 hours but was tired the next day, even taking sleep apnea medication. Sticking to herbal melatonin mixture. I was a zombie. Terrible headaches, but I take other CNS depressants, so not a good fit. Unfortunately, I slept like a baby on the pain medication post-op but they are taboo. Closing my eyes. Good luck, everyone- I can’t find the right mix since my 3 spine surgeries- I thought this worked, but old symptoms returned. Bummed!"

"I was very hopeful about Quviviq! It took a couple of weeks to take effect. I saw some slight improvement at first, but it didn't really address my main problem, which is staying asleep. I tend to wake up every night around 4:00 AMish, and then I toss and turn until I just give up trying. I'm thinking about going back to Lunesta."
