Dapsone topical for Acne "I can't say I was happy with this medication. I feel like it didn't help my acne whatsoever. If anything, it actually broke me out more than I usually do, and it gave me blackheads on my nose. Not cute! Everyone is different, I feel like for my skin, this was not a good fit. Onexton is drastically better for me."

Dapsone topical for Acne "I was originally using a combination of benzoyl peroxide and Tactuo but was still breaking out a bit and wanted to see if there was something else that could clear my skin up even more. I was prescribed Aczone and was instructed to use it every morning in replacement of my benzoyl peroxide. After two and a half months of using Aczone, my skin is the worst it's been in years. I have breakouts all over my face. I am incredibly disappointed with this product."

For Acne "My son is 13, tried Vanicream wash, which cleared up his chin acne pretty well, but gave Aczone a try to be preventative during football season. I cannot believe all the breakouts he experienced from it. I would not recommend this topical antibiotic. Maybe there’s resistance to it after a while. Not sure, but now he’s on an antibiotic to clear up."

For Acne "I've been on a regimen of dapsone gel 5% and tretinoin cream 0.025% for almost 3 months. When I started, I was dealing with cystic acne and some light breakouts around my period that had only worsened during the pandemic. My acne has become infinitely worse in this time, and now I'm dealing with acne scarring as well. I've been on tretinoin before, so I know that isn't the problem, but dapsone has completely ruined my skin. I have worse cystic acne, breakouts on my chin, scarring, and redness."

For Acne "I have never written a review like this, but I feel others MUST know how much this changed my life. I read all these reviews saying it took “too long” to work or “it got worse before it got better.” This has entirely changed my life, and I’m so glad I stuck with it. I was prescribed the spironolactone and this, and honestly, stopped taking the pills and just did the ointment. It took about 4 months and a few major breakouts, but suddenly it was magic! I don’t need makeup anymore, my cystic acne is gone, and I just have a few minor, minor, minor breakouts. I’m not scared to show my face, and my confidence is back up. TAKE THIS MEDICINE! Believe in it!"

Dapsone topical for Acne "I have cystic acne around my jawline and chin. The doctor prescribed Aczone. I have been using it for 4 weeks, and as of now, I'm not happy nor satisfied. Within the first week, my skin appeared smoother and my pores smaller. During the second week, I broke out on my cheekbones (possible result of new blush), but after using Aczone every day, none of my acne has gone away. I'm going to give it 2 more weeks before going back to the dermatologist."

For Acne "My routine prior to this was Adapalene 0.1% and Doxycycline Hyclate 100 mg once daily. Skin was nearly flawless besides a small/tiny breakout (a pimple or two every two weeks or so), which just started this year (2022). My appointment was in June. At the appointment, I was prescribed Aczone in addition to my treatment to lessen the small breakouts. THE WORST thing I could have ever done. It is now 9/8 and my skin has inflamed nodules all over my chin/jaw area and in my ear. It's red in some areas. My skin looks worse prior to Accutane treatment in less than 3 months. Plus it has become extremely oily. I had to discontinue and get an emergency appointment. Talks about doing another round of Accutane after the doctor saw my face. WORST TREATMENT EVER. Breakouts everywhere and worse than before. If your acne does not improve in 3 weeks, discontinue. Do not wait the standard 3 months."
