"Hands down the BEST acne treatment I've ever tried. Been on many, tried a lot of different products. Hormonal/food-triggered acne has been a part of my life since 13. Tried Aczone from my Dr. at 28 and haven't looked back for a year. Doesn't dry out skin, I feel a breakout coming in, put it on at nighttime and breakout gone completely in 1-2 days. Give it a try! Works fabulous :)"

"I'm 33 years old with bad forehead acne that started in my early/mid 20s. I've been to dermatologists for years, and everything I try eventually fails and seems to actually get worse in the long run. Aczone has been awesome for me. It took about 3 weeks before it started working, but no side effects whatsoever. I'm at about 2.5 months now, and my skin hasn't been this good for many years. I love it. My skin isn't 100% perfect, but this is definitely the best thing I've tried, and I've tried a lot. Right now, this is all I'm using."

"I've never experienced acne, a few blackheads, premenstrual pimples, but after my 29th birthday, my lower jaw and sides of my face broke out horribly. I scheduled appointments, had hormones checked, ob-gyn, everything. The dermatologist gave Aczone & Cetaphil (Derma Control for oily (purple label) or they also have another non-oily skin wash/etc.! OTC, pricey, but WORTH it) 2x daily face wash and 2x daily moisturizer. Also Minocycline 1x in the am, 30-60 days, plus a second face cream for pm use 2 minutes after Aczone but before moisturizer, Tretinoin .05% cream. This regimen has cleared those ugly and very painful pimples. I am an active AA woman, Hot Pilates 7x week plus swimming in a public pool 4x week. Anyone know if I can use Ambi fade cream? Aczone is not lightening scars."

"Great product. First off, Aczone will not give you immediate results. That’s for sure. But it is worth the wait. Prior to Aczone, I had tried everything. Over the counter, prescriptions, professionally done facials, you name it. I was given Aczone 2 and 1/2 months ago in combination with Sulfacleanse (a wash I use once a day), and my skin is almost completely clear. I also take Minocycline twice a day. It definitely doesn’t guarantee perfect skin, but you will see a huge improvement."

"I am a 40-yr-old female. I have had acne since I was 13. I noticed bumps all over my forehead for years along with a large cystic pimple a couple of times a year. 6 weeks ago, my dermatologist prescribed Aczone along with 2 antibiotics (1 oral, 1 topical-Solodyn and Ziana). This has been the perfect trifecta of treatment! My forehead has not been this clear since I was a kid, and my skin is significantly less greasy. Highly recommend!!"

"I've had perfect skin until I started to balance out school, work, and bills. I broke out horribly on my chin, and nothing I tried seemed to help. I tried Dr. Murad, Skin ID, Mary Kay, over-the-counter medication, and NOTHING helped. I have a small face, so the acne would be very noticeable all around my chin area. I went to the dermatologist, and he prescribed a combination of Doryx, Aczone, and Vetlin. I've been on it for about a month and a half, and I love this! My face has cleared up tremendously to the point that people are noticing my skin again! I'm down to just 3 pimples on my chin/cheek right now. This product works when used PROPERLY. You should also apply a good moisturizer like Neutrogena with dark spot reduction!"

"I had great skin until I hit 40 and had breakouts that almost looked like a rash along my jawline and forehead. I was getting scarring and comments about the 'rash' on my neck. I have been using it for 4 days, and I am amazed at the difference in my skin. My skin is not dry and feels baby smooth!"

"Growing up, I have always had clear skin, and then at the age of 22, my skin freaked out. I had extremely bad hormonal acne, at least 14 whiteheads at a time that hurt so bad. I didn’t even want to leave the house. A dermatologist prescribed Aczone and benzoyl peroxide face wash, and I swear that the Aczone is what saved my face. My face is 100% clear now in just a few months. Just a few red marks that still need to fade are left. Aczone gave me my confidence back."

"I'm in my early 20s and have been dealing with acne since secondary school. Nothing has worked for me, both oral and creams or gels. About a week and a half ago, I went to a new dermatologist. He prescribed Aczone. Deciding why not, I gave it a go. It's now a full week in, and I'm noticing an improvement. I realized that I still have larger bumps, but my smaller bumps are basically diminished. I look forward to continuing the use of this product."

"I have been experiencing cystic acne for about 3 months now. My doctor had put me on adapalene cream and doxycycline antibiotic pills the first 2 months, which basically purged out all sorts of acne. I was aware that it takes roughly 12 weeks to see results, but I was just getting worse. My doctor ended up referring me to a dermatologist who told me to continue with the adapalene cream 0.1% at night. He took me off of the doxycycline antibiotic and prescribed me the minocycline 50 mg 2 times a day and Aczone gel 7.5 once a day, as well as wash my face with benzoyl peroxide wash. The acne is almost gone after only being on the new medications for 2 weeks. All I have left now is the horrible hyperpigmentation from the acne, and it seems to be fading gradually too."

"TRY IT OUT! I'm a mid-30 yo female that has always been acne-free. Stress and bacterial infection from Clarisonic caused an acne breakout all over my forehead and cheeks. My dermatologist has put me on Solodyn 55 mg and Aczone 7.5% once a day. Here's my routine: Daytime - Purpose face wash, Kiehl's calendula toner, Aveeno positively radiant SPF 30 moisturizer. Nighttime - Purpose face wash, Kiehl's calendula toner, Aczone, after 5 minutes CeraVe oil-free PM moisturizer, oral Solodyn. I have been applying Aczone for 2 weeks, and it has drastically brought down the inflammation along with clearing some stubborn acne. I still have a ways to go, but this has made me feel so much better about my skin! Side note: 60 gram bottle dispenses 0.8% - so it should last you 75+ days, and the cost of Aczone without insurance is $75 - I called Allergan directly to get this info. Definitely try this out if you are dealing with inflamed, red, angry acne! I'll do another review at the month mark!"

"While pregnant with my 3rd child, in my early 30s, I began getting horrible acne, mostly on my chin. It was a combo of white/blackheads and big cyst-like pimples and a lot of redness! How embarrassing and painful. I saw a handful of physicians who prescribed different combos of oral and topical antibiotics, benzoyl peroxide, Retin-A, and who knows what else, but nothing worked. Very frustrating! So after about 4 years of this (and scars now), I finally saw a derm who prescribed Aczone (twice a day) and Tazarac (every night). These were winners for me! What a relief. It did take at least 4 weeks or so to see a big difference, but my face eventually completely cleared up! The results outweigh the side effects (skin peeling mainly). Worth the $!"

"I give this medication a 2/10 because it didn’t do anything for me. I have mild acne that usually only flares around the time of my period. So my main concern was to curb my breakouts right before my period. I applied this medication religiously for over 3 months every day as prescribed by my doctor in conjunction with other creams and saw absolutely no results. The acne did not get worse as other people here have reported, but it did not get better. I saw absolutely no changes in the last 3 months of applying it. My acne would come and go depending on the time of month as it always did. So I am now considering discontinuing using this cream because it seems like a complete waste of my money. I read online that it is usually taken with oral meds for best results, so maybe then it’s helpful when the other meds kick in. But as it is, on its own, it doesn’t solve anything for me."

"Ever since I began to play field hockey, then basketball, my acne got bad. No over-the-counter things would work anymore. So I got Aczone, and I saw improvement in three days. This works like magic. Highly suggest."

"I'm 19 years old and have had acne since about the 6th grade (age 11). About a month ago, I went to a new dermatologist who took one look at me and said she's going to prescribe me Retin-A. I told her that I tried that, and she said Aczone was the last one she could think of that could possibly help me. So far, after three weeks, my forehead and left cheek have cleared up (but I still have acne scars). The right cheek doesn't seem to be getting better or worse, the pimples I had went away, and others came. Hoping for more results with time."

"I am female in her early 30s - about 3 years ago I developed adult acne after years of relatively clear skin. Benzoyl peroxide had been my miracle acne product, but then I developed contact dermatitis and could no longer use it. :( I honestly could not go more than a day without a new pimple developing, despite using other prescription acne-grade products, vitamin A, as well as expensive spa treatments. I have been on Aczone about a month and have had instant results, I have not had a cystic pimple since. I still get blackheads and have milia on my chin/jawline, but no pimples/whiteheads/cysts to speak of and have had no issues with dry skin. The product is pricey, but I will save in the long run not wasting my money on others that don't work."

"I'm an 18-year-old female, and I've always struggled with occasional acne. It would come and go, but recently I was breaking out and picking my face constantly, which made it worse. I had many self-esteem problems because of this and had trouble going out because of the way I looked. A couple of weeks ago, a friend gave me some Aczone samples, and I've been applying it twice a day, and the results have been incredible. It cleans out my pores like never before, and I've tried many products, but nothing like this! It does take a day or two for the swelling of the inflamed pore to go down in size, so have patience."

"I'm 24 and have been plagued with acne since my teens. Two years into college, I started to get hormonally triggered acne along my jawline; more cyst-like and painful than what I was used to getting on my face. I had been living with it, managing only through OTC topical salicylic acid and benzoyl peroxide, but it was only getting worse. My skin also changed in my early 20s, becoming more sensitive and dry, but simultaneously oily (if you have it, you'll get it. Otherwise, I know it sounds like a contradiction of terms). It was basically a mess; I didn't know what to do and was considering Accutane. My derma prescribed Aczone, and while I had my reservations the first few weeks, less than two months later my skin is practically acne-free."

"I am a 23-year-old woman with dry-combination skin. I have slightly struggled with acne, mostly in my teen years. But once I turned 23, my acne flared up, and I would constantly have 5-10 active pimples at a time. I decided to visit a dermatologist, and I was prescribed Aczone 7.5% because my dermatologist said that I was suffering from hormonal breakouts. About a week after using Aczone, I started experiencing even worse breakouts, extremely oily skin, and the hyperpigmentation from healing acne lasting longer than ever (2-3 weeks). It did help cystic/nodule pimples heal faster, but the oiliness caused more whiteheads and blackheads. After using it for 5 weeks and seeing absolutely no improvement in my skin, I decided to stop. Within 1 week of stopping, my skin is no longer oily, the hyperpigmentation faded, and I have fewer breakouts than I did before Aczone. Aczone did not work well with my skin, but each skin type is different, just wanted to share my experience."

"My skin is extremely oily, sensitive, and I've been breaking out non-stop since the age of 16 (I am now 20). Because of my sensitivity, Aczone has been really amazing because it is not drying as many other prescriptions are, and I like that I was able to start using it twice a day every day from day one (with many other prescriptions, I have to slowly add it every other day to my regimen). I have noticed fabulous improvements in my skin. I still break out on occasion, but as long as I stick to this regularly, my breakouts clear up far quicker than before use. It should be noted that I have been using this in conjunction with Tazorac .1. I also love that it doesn't bleach clothing or anything, which I used to hate in many other products."

"I have had breakouts here and there, but started to get worse in my early twenties. I'm 22 now and have horrible breakouts before my period, with big whiteheads and cheek and chin breakouts. My doctor prescribed Aczone alongside an oral pill, Novo-Spironolactone. So far, after 4 weeks, I am seeing noticeable improvement, and my acne has faded into just red scars on my face that are easy to cover. I apply Aczone once in the morning and at night and sometimes on bigger pimples more throughout the day. The only thing is it's not as good for drying out large whiteheads. 10/10 would recommend, you just have to be patient."

"I have very oily skin, especially forehead, cheeks, and chin area. I'm 36 and have always had perfect skin... well, until a year ago. Constant breakouts on all oily-prone areas of skin. I will get a pimple and a dark spot to follow. So now the pimple disappears, and you have this hideous dark scar. After trying everything under the sun, I went back to my dermatologist, and she put me on Aczone. Please, people try this. With every acne medicine, your skin may get worse before better (unfortunately), don't give up and don't stress! Continue to use the product. Wash your face with a mild cleanser free of salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide, which will irritate your skin and make the drying worse. Aczone is fantastic, it works! Use with Differin!"

"Had acne in my 20's, now the painful cystic acne in T-zone is back during menopause. I've been using Aczone for about 2 weeks, once or twice a day. Results: I have no - NO - bad breakouts, and the ones I had are almost completely healed. The only reason I didn't give this a 10 is because it's only been 2 weeks, and I don't know that I won't have another breakout tomorrow. But knock wood, 'so far, so good.'"

"I have struggled with mild but persistent acne since I was 11 or so, and am now 21 and finally doing something about it! I am doing 3 things: Doryx (oral antibiotic), Retin-A Micro at night, and Aczone in the mornings (and afternoons sometimes). I have seen huge improvement over the last 3 months, though not perfectly clear (mine is clearly hormonal and stress-related, so that's frustrating). Aczone doesn't dry out my skin and make it flake like other topical creams or gels (especially Benzaclin), and it makes my face feel smooth. Strangely, within the last week, I have noticed some itchiness/dryness and peeling, and I don't know why there is this change. I have been more consistent about putting it on twice a day instead of once, so maybe that's why."

"I'm a 46-year-old female with cystic/hormonal acne. My dermatologist just prescribed this medication to me a few days ago, along with Retin A and Solodyne (oral antibiotic). The Aczone leaves my skin very white and dry in the areas I put it on. My whole chin area and jaw area feel like walking around with white chalk on my face. I do use moisturizer over it, but it still returns when the moisturizer dries. The cystic bumps appear to have gotten smaller rather quickly, which is what I like about it. I just don't like the dry white flakiness it leaves behind. Maybe I'll switch to using it only at night and see what happens."
