For Nausea/Vomiting "Last year I was staying at the hospital and was given cyclizine through an IV injection, they said it would take 15-30 minutes to feel any effects, but from the moment I felt the cold liquid going in my arm, I felt weird. I began speaking absolute nonsense, it was a lot of fun, and all the hospital staff got a good laugh out of it. By the time it had worn off, I already wanted it again. I struggled to sleep and was sweating profusely from the withdrawal. The next morning, I asked the nurse for it again, but this time it was different. I looked at my hands and watched as they suddenly became very pale, and you could see every single vein in my hand. I was shaking, having palpitations, my teeth were clattering, and I kept feeling like I was constantly falling out of consciousness and then suddenly being brought back to life. It was terrifying. The nurse sat by my side and was just as worried. He tried comforting me but was also scared I was having an allergic reaction to it. Never again."

For Nausea/Vomiting "I have used this cyclizine a few times. The first time was in the hospital during a bout of Clostridium difficile, it really worked and took the nausea away. I have since had gastro problems and have been using this again, it works after an hour or so and tends to last a few hours. This time around, I have experienced a few side effects: constipated in the evening and I had vision problems too. I will be speaking to my doctor to see what he says."

For Nausea/Vomiting "I have a condition called Cyclical Vomiting Syndrome (CVS) and am often hospitalized due to persistent vomiting. Having cyclizine injected through the cannula into the vein is the only thing that helps. It does make me feel very drowsy and sometimes gives heart palpitations in injection form, however, this is a welcome break at the time. I find the medication very useful, and the tablets work reasonably well too for preventing the feeling of nausea."

For Nausea/Vomiting "I was prescribed 50 mg cyclizine tablets at 7 weeks pregnant because I couldn’t keep anything down, and I was severely dehydrated. A week into taking them, I’d say I’ve gone from being sick 15 times a day to 3 or 4 times a week. They’ve really worked for me, but they give me an awful stomach ache."

For Motion Sickness "I have taken this for travel sickness for some years now. I guess it works as I haven’t vomited or even had nausea while traveling, even on a bumpy 10-hour flight across the North Atlantic. It does make me super tired, and it gives me major dry mouth, but I will take that over nausea any day, and I sleep through the boring long-haul flights :)"

For Nausea/Vomiting "Was prescribed this to counteract nausea from another medication. The first day I took it, I felt so “high” and awfully drowsy, could do nothing but sleep. Every time I take it, I normally get that same “high” feeling along with trembling and drowsiness. I kept taking it because it was fixing the nausea, and I could go to sleep straight away. 5 months later, for whatever reason, I experienced much different side effects. Struggling to breathe, throat felt like it was closing slightly, stomach pains, headache, hot chest, nervousness, irritated sinuses, and sweats. Definitely would not be taking again despite the fact it’s helped me for so long!"

For Nausea/Vomiting "I have had a lot of health problems and have spent quite a lot of time in the hospital. When I have cyclizine via IV, I literally float off the bed, the sickness goes straight away. I have the tablets at home and no nice, floaty feeling, but they do the trick!"

For Motion Sickness "Following a stroke, I had severe motion sickness even for a minute's journey up the road. Had countless other tablets, which were okay, I guess, but I had to take them again before the return journey. Cyclizine is amazing, one seems to last all day, even going out sailing on the Solent for the day."

For Nausea/Vomiting "I had unexplained sickness, where I had unbelievable stomach pains. Drs weren't sure what was wrong, but they gave me cyclizine to help. I felt awful, was totally manic, flushed, and my heartbeat was very rapid. Turns out I am allergic to it. Terrifying experience, but luckily I was given another drug to counteract the symptoms. Was lucky I was in the hospital when I took this."

For Nausea/Vomiting "I have taken this drug before, and it works within an hour. It helps me eat because I usually feel nauseous and dizzy before a UTI. I only take it until my symptoms improve. However, I would say that it makes you a bit sleepy and stops nausea and dizziness, so I'm quite happy to take it."

For Nausea/Vomiting "I took these for nausea associated with endometriosis, but very quickly realized they made me feel high and also worked as a sleeping pill. I’m not addicted to it, but my boyfriend passed on a month ago, and now I just take it to sleep because nothing else works, and unlike antidepressants, there are no withdrawal symptoms if I want to stop. Also, I can buy it over the counter here in SA."

For Motion Sickness "A lifesaver. I tested positive for COVID for 10 days, my main symptom for 7 days was severe nausea. I bought a pack of these and took one as soon as the wave of nausea hit me. They worked fantastically. Within 15 minutes, my nausea eased and mostly disappeared, and I was able to eat to keep my strength up. I’d say I did 3 a day for 4 days until the nausea gradually eased. I didn’t have any noticeable side effects that I’m aware of, but I was sleeping most of the day and was very spaced out due to COVID anyway. But these little miracles helped me get through."

For Nausea/Vomiting "My daughter took this to take alongside iron tablets as she was anemic. She was on this tablet for 3 months, twice a day. One night, she was rushed to the hospital with stroke-like symptoms, paralysis on the left side of her body. The doctors at present have put it down to functional neurological disorder (FND). However, reading up on this drug and all the side effects, I’m pretty sure this had something to do with it. This drug sends signals to the brain to stop you from feeling sick. She now is still struggling to walk because the signals from the brain to the nervous system have been affected. I have been reading that when some people have had an intravenous version of this drug, it’s instant paralysis in some cases. Just be very, very careful with this drug."

For Nausea/Vomiting "Cyclizine is the only one that helps me not vomit. I've got so many issues. Had my gallbladder removed, had pancreatitis 6 times, got very severe high calcium and parathyroid, so all the medication I take causes nausea and bad vomiting."

For Nausea/Vomiting "Took cyclizine a quite few times for nausea and to be honest it made absolutely no difference. I then got it IV as I was suffering badly with nausea in hospital and it was fantastic, helped me sleep (though I had nightmares) and no nausea at all. Can't understand how the tablets did absolutely nothing but the IV was a lifesaver!?"

For Nausea/Vomiting "I have unexplained nausea that has been going on for about a month. The doctor gave me cyclizine. It does help with nausea for sure but I've experienced some weird side effects, e.g., knocks me out for a good few hours and I had to take one at work. I felt awful. I honestly felt like I was having a bad trip. Made me unbelievably anxious, heart palpitations. I was so drowsy and I couldn't even walk because I felt like I was going to pass out. I'm not sure if I'll be taking it again but it's the only thing that helps with nausea :("

For Nausea/Vomiting "This medication is a bonus, the only problem is when I take it, I feel like I'm going to pass out and hit the floor. I find the intravenous one works better as it's in the cannula. I find I get a dry mouth with this medication, and I get numbness in both arms, and my legs feel like jelly. Other than that, the sickness is under control, so I can't really moan, as the other tablet they gave me in the hospital really upset me-that metoclopramide, I think that was the worst, but we are all different in how we tolerate the medication."

For Nausea/Vomiting "I took it, and within an hour, I felt terrible, felt like I was going to pass out, very dizzy, and I couldn't talk. I also had chills and shakes, my family had to ring an ambulance. It was an awful experience. I was like that for nearly two hours. Be very careful with these tablets - it may scare you."

For Nausea/Vomiting "I have had this medication in tablet form for 1.5 years now and take a lot due to my Addison's disease. When I become nonstop sick and get weak, I end up in the hospital and get the IV cyclizine. The first few times I felt weird, slurred speech but very calm and settled. Like all the pain in my body had gone. Now I just get the calming feeling like I'm in the clouds."

For Nausea/Vomiting "After having my gallbladder removed, I was on the ward, but being sick, I was given cyclizine intravenously. I immediately had paralysis and couldn't move. My hearing was muffled, and sight was blurry. It took half an hour to wear off. Terrifying. I had a worse experience in 1994 with an anesthetic and anti-sickness drug for an operation. I had neurological symptoms in my limbs, which took a long time to recover. Apparently, when given intravenously, it should be done slowly. I suspect this didn't happen. Can't get doctors to believe that this happened to me."

For Motion Sickness "I suffer from vestibular migraines. The symptoms are dizziness, vertigo, and feeling sensitive to light, and feeling sick. My doctor prescribed me this drug, and my first dose, within an hour, knocked me out. I woke up feeling less dizzy. I so hope this drug works! As I've had this for a long time now, and I suffer from depression from not having a normal life. Please, I so hope this is the drug to cure me…"
