For Panic Disorder "I wish this drug didn't cause tiredness and memory problems. The drug is amazing and, in my case, non-tolerance building. I take 1.5 mg (85 kg male). It works, but it's really hurt my memory, and I'm often lethargic and lazy. That said, I was previously unemployable due to horrible GAD + SAD. I hope better drugs come out, but for now this is it. 8+ years. No tolerance. Max was 4 mg, now on 1.5 mg. Can lead to minor depressive feelings. I also take with Lamotrigine (mood booster + mild help for anxiety). P.S. Why does it only come in 0.5 mg and 2 mg? That's annoying."

For Anxiety "Amazing drug for general anxiety and to take on a schedule, not for panic attacks. This is more like an anxiety prevention drug to relax during the day or night and helps with muscle relaxation, without sedation at low doses. Takes about 45 minutes to start feeling full effects with onset at 25 minutes. This also does not make me feel tired like Xanax that comes on fast."

Clonazepam "I’m very sensitive to medication, so I normally cut this pill in half. On a bad day, I take a whole one. (I can take up to 2 a day, 10 mg.) It works for the most part. It does make me feel a bit tired, but I’ve tried many medications through the years, so this is the best trade-off I’ve found so far. Doesn’t feel addictive at all to me. Just does the job it’s supposed to do every once in a while. Doctor recently prescribed me Effexor, and that definitely feels addictive and made me loopy, so I stopped taking it the first week. Klonopin is much better for “as needed” anxiety management."

For Anxiety "I take about 2-4 mg a day of Klonopin. It makes me tired sometimes, but it works better than the anti-anxiety (depression) pills like Paxil and Prozac. I'm a recovering heroin addict, and doctors hate to treat you like a regular patient. I've been clean now for 4 years, but my addiction will follow me for the rest of my life. If that's the penance for staying clean, I'll take it."

For Night Terrors "Love only Yellow Teva brand help me sleep and not have sleep paralysis. Also helps with nervousness or anxiety for public talk. Does make me groggy and tired next day, especially 2nd day I’m exhausted. Don’t like the orange or pink brands, which made my sleep paralysis worse and not good feeling. Only yellow “Teva” brand works for me."

For Panic Disorder "Was on a drug that was like Benadryl. Didn't think it worked until I ran out and could tell it had worked. It made me very tired 24/7. This was prescribed at a hospital. My anxiety was so high I wanted to jump off a bridge. Finally got into a psychiatrist, which is hard to get into, and due to lack of sleep, she gave me 1 mg at night and half in the morning. I do feel like it works but still wish it was better, maybe spread out because it wears off. Not sure."

For Anxiety "I seem to be one of the few people that does not get any benefit from clonazepam. I have treatment-resistant OCD, depression, anxiety, and panic disorder. I thought I'd try this med to deal with the constant anxiety OCD causes me. I figured I'd take it just once or twice a week to avoid dependence. I tried 0.5 mg which did virtually nothing, so the next time I tried 1 mg which maybe helped the tiniest bit for a few hours, but it made me exhausted and I fell asleep sitting up. Also, with both doses, after those first few hours, my OCD got worse for several days, which made my depression worse too. This is the 9th med I've failed, not sure what's next. P.S. All benzos contain lactose, keep in mind if you are intolerant."

For Insomnia "This drug Klonopin has got to be my least favorite that I have ever tried. I have nocturnal epilepsy, which causes nightmares, daytime sleepiness, and anxiety. This drug was prescribed because it is supposed to help all of those. It made me insanely tired when I would take it. I couldn't function afterward and would fall asleep. The worst part was the dreams. Naturally, if we sleep 8 hours, it doesn't feel like 8 hours. On Klonopin, I felt every single second of the night. It was awful and miserable. In my dream, I would walk around a clothing store for hours and feel each material. If water dropped on me, I would absolutely feel the wetness. Not in a good way. Also, importantly, I am in college and normally drink quite heavily. If I took Klonopin, I would become extremely nauseous and black out after a few sips. If you take this drug, absolutely do not drink while on it."

For Insomnia "Don't know as yet because I'm just about to go on to it... Sounds really intriguing!! I say with bated breath as I'm plum-tuckered, colloquial for absolutely pooped. That means in slang that I am really tired and out of sorts... In other words, up the pole... Absolutely all-in. Good morning, I'm soon going to have a nap on the office floor... 10:04 a.m. GMT Grantham mean time!!!??"

For Anxiety "My boyfriend began taking this drug to lessen his anxiety and alcohol intake. Initially, I was very excited to see what it would do for him, unfortunately, the results were not too pleasing. Beforehand, we enjoyed the little things in life and going on random excursions. Now, he has become a complete zombie! He specifically requested very low doses (0.25 mg), and in a short period of time, he has completely altered his state of being. He's tired very often and gets very irritable or annoyed being in public without him. Much less spontaneous and fun-filled as before and has caused way more relational issues. Definitely would not recommend this drug unless you're prepared for the crap loads of negative social and interpersonal effects!"

Clonazepam for Panic Disorder "Klonopin is better than other benzos like Xanax, Ativan, Valium. Don't make you sleepy or tired. The problem is that it kills your sex drive."

For Anxiety "So I used to take Xanax 1 mg 3 times a day. It helped but made me tired. Now my doc put me on 1 mg 3 times a day of Klonopin. Day 3, I feel nothing. I tried 1.5 mg and felt very calm and relaxed."

For Benzodiazepine Withdrawal "I have been on clonazepam (started at 1 mg and went up to 1.5 mg) and started in November of 2019 after the passing of my grandmother, and things just got hectic. I had already been clean from opiates for 3 years, and dabbled in benzos when I used heroin. I started having panic attacks and eventually went to the E.R. because of them, and that's where it started. The Klonopin worked, I no longer have panic attacks, but I also don't feel 100% myself, and I still do sometimes abuse my medication - but I still try to take it the right way. Maybe I am torturing myself, but I don't know, I don't really see myself coming off them, and I wouldn't shame anyone for not. Just like I don't shame anyone for drug use. I abused my meds this month, only .125 till refill day. Feeling tired, anxious, numb on skin, and not sleeping well, cold sweats, that's 3-4 mg for 2 weeks to .125 for a week. 2 more to go till refill. Don't be dumb like me."
