For Bowel Preparation "Train wreck of a prep. Chose it because it was a small amount of liquid in 2 doses, and everything I read led me to believe that it wouldn’t cause nausea…and it didn’t. I took it at the correct time and waited. Finally, 2 1/2 hours later, I had to go, but it ended up being solid. I waited about another hour before I needed to go again. I had been eating a crockpot chili that had corn in it…eating it daily for weeks. Most of what was coming out was the corn. There must have been a 5 lb bag in me. Finally, around 2:30 AM, the corn stopped. I had my colonoscopy and was told they didn’t find anything to biopsy, and I was sent home. Didn’t sleep a wink the night before, but a good report was worth it. When I got home, I had to go 2 more times, and the corn showed up again! Two weeks later, I went to the doctor for a follow-up, and she told me it was the worst prep ever. I have to do a repeat in 1 yr because she couldn’t get a clear look for all the debris!"

For Bowel Preparation "I was excited at first by the idea of having less prep to drink. But, unfortunately, it made me extremely nauseated for hours on end. I prefer 'Go lightly' for colonoscopy prep. The diluted was much easier on my stomach in retrospect, despite having more volume to drink rather than the concentrated Clenpiq."

For Bowel Preparation "I had a colonoscopy due to Cologuard (+). Doc recommended pill form Sutab for bowel prep. Since I have trouble swallowing big pills, I requested liquid form and got Clenpiq. I like the taste. My appointment was 7:30 a.m. I was told to take the 1st dose at 5 p.m. and the 2nd dose at 2:30 a.m. Since I got an appointment that someone else had canceled (notified me 2 days ahead), I had no time to be well prepared. I started a low-fiber diet right away (be sure to search for what low-fiber foods are, not what I assumed), then clear liquid the day before. I took the 1st dose at 4 p.m., didn't have anything until 8:30 p.m. (near panic). Then I kept running stained watery stool till 12:30 a.m. I was exhausted and took the 2nd dose at 1 a.m. (worried bowel won't be cleaned) running until 3 a.m. Got 1.5 hrs sleep. Finally, I got clear water out, it means bowel prep is successful (doc proved). I had 8mm and 15mm polyps. I kick myself for not doing the colonoscopy earlier (I'm 58, 1st time test). I did have chills and nausea for 20 min (3 hrs after the 1st dose) subsided by lying on the bed and breathing."

For Bowel Preparation "I’m an extremely anxious person, and I was very much in my headspace about taking this after reading the reviews. But it’s a walk in the park compared to the other preps. Sure, I got slightly nauseous, but I had zero cramping, pain, or violent bowel movements. It was completely manageable. I was the first procedure at 7:00 A.M., so I took my doses at 3 pm and 9 pm the day before. I was asleep by 12:30 A.M. and slept the remainder of the night. I had a successful colonoscopy with a good report."

For Bowel Preparation "Highly recommended! I had my 10-year routine colonoscopy screening this morning and did the Clenpiq prep last night. The prep I took for my first colonoscopy (GoLightly?) made me so sick — chills, nausea, vomiting — but Clenpiq (like its predecessor Prepopik) made it a relatively painless process — no cramping or nausea at all, and the volume of prep is small and tastes fine, much better than the other stuff. And it did the job, doc said my colon was super clean. Prepopik lets you choose your own liquid as the “chaser” (I find that coconut water goes down the easiest), which is much more palatable than the giant vats of prep you have to drink with most of the other options."

For Bowel Preparation "I have Crohn's disease, and this is my 5th colonoscopy. This stuff is nothing but garbage, and didn't clean out my colon at all. I know what my BM's are supposed to look like after a whole night of prepping, and I'm nowhere near ready for my colonoscopy in three hours. It made me nauseated, dizzy, and I had the worst headache imaginable. I've never experienced this much sickness from a bowel prep. It was also one hundred dollars. What a total waste. If my doctor tells me that I have to come back and do another one, I'm going to be irate. TELL YOUR DOCTOR YOU DO NOT WANT THIS BOWEL PREP. Ask for an alternative. I'd give it negative stars if I could."

For Bowel Preparation "I rate this a 1 because of my reaction to the product. I started vomiting within 10 minutes of taking the liquid. I was nauseous and vomiting for the entire night. I then got severe migraines to the point of almost going to the ER. The symptoms lasted well into the following day and even the day after."

For Bowel Preparation "Clenpiq was a great experience for me. I had previously used a different high-volume prep that wasn’t successful for me because I vomited most of it and couldn’t complete it. I took an anti-nausea med a half hour before I drank each bottle of Clenpiq. The flavor wasn’t great (think a strong multivitamin flavor), but I held my nose and chased the sips with ginger ale. I had no trouble drinking the required amounts of clear liquid afterward and was able to comfortably make it to the toilet when needed. I was able to sleep well between the split doses. The Clenpiq did its job and I had a successful procedure. Very thankful Clenpiq exists, and I will always use this for my yearly colonoscopies."

For Bowel Preparation "I like that it was premixed. Very convenient to just open a bottle and pour it in a glass. It is extremely sweet, kind of nauseating. Don't gulp it down, space out your sips so that you don't get nauseous. Works very, very fast, so be prepared. Once I started taking it, I was in the bathroom approximately every 5 to 10 minutes for quite a while. I had no cramping or discomfort of any kind. As long as it works, I would be fine to use it again in the future. The worst part really is the taste."

For Bowel Preparation "Took the first bottle as prescribed at 4 p.m. and followed with the required 5/8 oz cups of water afterward. Immediately became nauseous. Kept going, but developed a terrible headache, and by the time midnight came around, was vomiting forcefully. Colonoscopy was not successful. Have to repeat next year. The taste is horrendous, and anybody picking up a prescription for this should be picking up one for Zofran (for the nausea and vomiting) in tandem."

For Bowel Preparation "Started with the first dose at 5 pm after fasting and a liquid diet all day. The cap was very hard to remove. Once it was forced down, I immediately was nauseated. It kicked in about 20 minutes later with stomach pain, and I didn’t even make it into the bathroom. It’s now 2:30 am, and I’m still awake with stomach pains and diarrhea 9.5 hours later. I’m a small woman. I’m not sure how I’m supposed to function and take another bottle of this horrible stuff in the morning. I’ve already been to the restroom 14 times with just 1 bottle! Worst prep procedure I’ve ever encountered."

For Bowel Preparation "I have my test on 4/27/21. I drank the 1st bottle with only little side effects: bloating and nausea. I drank it at 2 pm and didn't start using the bathroom until 9 pm, and then slept through the night, woke up, and went again. Nothing came out but yellow-colored fluid. I'm going to drink another 1/2 today so I know I'm perfectly clean. I haven't eaten anything in 3 days, so I have a headache and a bit crabby, but that's me. If you are worried about this, don't be, it's the best out of all the ones I've had to drink. Everybody is different. Just don't worry like I did, it's easy."

For Bowel Preparation "I had my 8th colonoscopy today, and I must admit this was the best prep I've ever used. I went on the all-liquid diet yesterday morning and took my first dose at 5 p.m. last night. No nausea, gagging, or cramping. I had a slight headache. The prep took about an hour to kick in. I went to the bathroom off and on until midnight or so. I took the second dose this morning at 7:45 a.m. No problems handling this either. By the time I was ready to head to the surgicenter at noon, the remainder of my output was clear! My colonoscopy was negative, and the pictures of my colon were bright and shiny! I told my GI doctor about my experience with this prep. He was happy to hear that I had no problems. As noted by the others here, the prep is expensive. I had a coupon from my doctor and, with insurance, ended up paying $75."

For Bowel Preparation "I had day-before instructions that I followed. First time for this, so I was not sure what to expect. First dose at 3:40 pm, and 2 hours later, it was working. I had just a slight feel of nausea that went away in a few minutes after finishing the first bottle. The headache I had was the worst part. Started about 30 minutes after I started the prep and lasted about an hour. Same headache experience came back after finishing the second bottle around 9 pm. No cramping. Definitely works. The taste is like a glucose tolerance test in pregnancy or maybe like very sweet-slightly sour lemonade you make at home. Very sweet taste, and it was cranberry. Almost clear and pale yellow now. There’s no way I won’t be clean by 10:00 in the morning. Sample given to me by my doctor."

For Bowel Preparation "Used the day-before protocol for my first colonoscopy scheduled for this morning. Took the first dose using a straw yesterday at 5 pm. The taste was a little nauseating, so I sucked on a lemon to help get it down. Felt a bit queasy on and off at first, but figured it would pass. Within an hour or so, the diarrhea started. But then, by the second hour, I was so nauseous and began vomiting. Couldn't even stomach a sip of water, so I was unable to follow the protocol of drinking 5 glasses before the next dose scheduled for 10 pm. Felt very weak. Couldn't take the second dose and couldn't even drink an ounce of liquid until after 1:30 am. Needless to say, I had to cancel the procedure. Horrible experience."

For Bowel Preparation "The worst!!! I could barely gag it down. I felt like throwing up all night and woke up in the middle of the night with a horrendous headache, freezing cold, and nausea. This headache lasted for 15 hours. I will not use this product again, it was too hard on me. Never used a colon prep that made me feel this bad. However, it was effective in cleaning out the colon."

For Bowel Preparation "This has to be the nastiest thing I’ve ever had to force myself to drink. I had to try really hard not to vomit. The horrible taste lingered even after I drank apple juice to try to get rid of the taste in my mouth. The next time I need to do bowel prep, I’m going to ask my doctor to prescribe ANYTHING else because I never want to drink that again! I am glad my insurance covered most of the cost because the Pharmacy Tech told me it would be a couple hundred if not covered. This is actually the first medication I’ve given a review on! It’s so bad I want to warn others!"

For Bowel Preparation "Like many commenters, I was apprehensive going into my first colonoscopy. And, like many commenters, I need not have been. Followed the prep instructions, and at 5 PM drank the first bottle. Sweet and almost clinical tasting, if that makes sense. Took about 90 minutes to start. No nausea, no cramping, and no real dire urgency. By 10 PM I was mostly done for the night and slept well. Had to take the second dose at 4:30 AM, and that one was a little harder to get down, but not bad. Went back to bed for an hour and then had to use the bathroom a few times. I did have a bit of a headache when I got to the place for the procedure, but I'm not sure if it was from lack of my coffee that morning, slight dehydration (although I drank a little more than instructed), or the Clenpiq itself."

For Bowel Preparation "Felt like I should contribute here since I came here before my prep to hear about other experiences with Clenpiq. Bottom line - very easy and smooth. I was very apprehensive and anxious about how I’d tolerate it and was very pleased. I ate a pretty simple diet 2 days before the prep, which may have helped? I also hydrated a lot during the day of the prep. First bottle at 6 pm (started at 5:50). Held my nose, sipped with a straw, chased it with lemon Gatorade, and then sucked on a lemon and barely tasted it. I used the full hour to take down the bottle and drink the 5 eight-ounce cups of water. Had first bathroom run at around 8 and then around 9. Second bottle at 11 pm. Went down just as easy, same method. Bathroom twice after that. Slept about 4 hours. Got up at 6 am to shower. Went again and got to appointment at 7 am. It really was easy. No gagging or nausea. Just felt a bit raw after so much time in the bathroom!"

For Bowel Preparation "I really didn't like the colonoscopy prep previously that included a copious amount of liquid! That was misery for me! I had read the reviews prior to taking Clenpiq and was so worried. Who wants to drink anything that tastes so foul, possibly causing one to barf! I ultimately found it to be not nearly as bad as my brain had made up. Another review said it was like a weak margarita mix, which I definitely noticed. I didn’t taste the cranberry part… I also found it to be a little salty. I used a straw and drank a couple of big swallows at a time and then chased it with Gatorade. Easy enough. The first dose took about 30 minutes to activate. The second dose was almost immediate. I had no bloating nor nausea. It was also easy to drink the clear liquids required following the doses. I had no cramping, so when it was time to “go,” it was literally knocking on the proverbial door, so there’s that… I spent most of the night in and out of the bathroom, but I had a good book to pass the time."

For Bowel Preparation "I’m very hesitant to drink stuff that doesn’t taste good. I poured the Clenpiq into a glass and stood and stared at it for a couple of minutes, trying to muster the courage to drink it. Then I got out an ice-cold Izze Sparkling Apple to drink in between sips of the Clenpiq. I took a couple sips of the Clenpiq. Awful! Especially bad aftertaste. Finally, I just mixed the Clenpiq with the Izze and was able to finish drinking it. Now I was worried it wouldn’t work since I mixed it, but it did start to work in half an hour. I didn’t feel any nausea or cramping. I’d probably use this again in the future as long as I can mix it with an Izze. By itself, I can’t stand the taste."

For Bowel Preparation "This was my third colonoscopy, and the pharmacy gave me both Suprep and Clenpiq. I had a choice of which one to go with. Clenpiq seemed much easier, so I gave it a go. Horrible experience. It was easy to get down, but then nausea, chills, headache. AND didn’t seem to be working. Finally, after two hours, it started working. But not as well as Suprep. I decided to take the second dose earlier at 3 am before my 9 am appointment to make sure it had time to work. With those side effects, I wouldn’t recommend. Still feeling bad the day after, and it’s still causing loose bowels."

For Bowel Preparation "Doesn't taste that much better, but thankfully the volume is fairly small. Not really sweet, but an odd bittersweet. Says not to refrigerate, but doesn't give a reason. If you hold your nose, it goes down easier. I did pour it into a cup with one ice cube. Mind you, then you must drink FIVE cups of clear liquids. Can cause nausea! Took me 3 hours to start the rectal cataclysm. I was not clear until the last 2 'ejections' following the SECOND bottle of Clenpiq. It is way overpriced. In the old days, 2 oz. of phosphosoda and lots of fluids worked like a charm for a fraction of the price. Hard to say this is a leap up in bowel cleansing preps."

For Bowel Preparation "I took Clenpiq to prepare for a colonoscopy. The taste was very salty and sweet, and I had to dilute it with water and use a chaser to get it down. It made me a little nauseous drinking it, but I got it down regardless. It was very effective, one bottle had run me almost clean. Then, getting ready for bed around 10:30, I started feeling very sick and uneasy. I stayed up over the toilet. I could not get the bottle down the next morning. Thinking about the taste now still makes me feel like I’m going to get sick."
