For Bowel Preparation "Paid $90 with insurance for Clenpiq. Tastes like chemicals, so foul, nasty, and vile. Managed to drink the bottle at 5 pm (took 30 min to get it down). Felt nauseous trying to drink it. Drank the recommended water after. Had to do the 2nd bottle at 10 pm with more water. Felt nauseous all night. You can only drink liquids, so you have to drink this horrible concoction on an empty stomach. I never want to go through a bowel prep again. Thank God the bottles are small. I would rather have enemas, just saying..."

For Bowel Preparation "Super easy prep. First dose in early AM made me a little queasy, but it passed. No cramping. Second dose, no problem. Taste was fine, and quantity was small enough to drink quickly. Hydrating is very important."

For Bowel Preparation "This was my second colonoscopy. My first one I had no problems at all. This time I took Clenpiq, and it has been a terrible experience. Other than the fact that it did cleanse me out, there is nothing else positive about this product. I took the first bottle at 3:30 PM. The taste is absolutely putrid and lingers. But that is not the worst part of it. It started working about 2 hours after the first dose, I also started having chills. Another couple of hours later, I was having very watery bowels, then nothing for an hour or so, so I went to bed. I woke up twice in the middle of the night in a puddle of watery poop. Had to change and shower. After the second shower, I passed out. Thank goodness my husband was there. I felt terrible, lightheaded, nauseous, heart racing. As directed, I took the second dose at 9 am. For hours after the colonoscopy, bad cramps. Had loose stools for 2 days and still feel 'off' over a week later. This stuff was toxic to my body. NEVER AGAIN!!!"

For Bowel Preparation "First dose Clenpiq: stomach pain and nauseous; visits to the bathroom were no more than 3. Second dose: after 15 minutes of the intake, felt nauseous and like in seconds and on my way to the bathroom, I vomited all of it. I don’t think I will be okay to have my colonoscopy and will never ever use this product again."

For Bowel Preparation "Unfortunately, I did not have a good experience with Clenpiq. The first bottle went down fine, as well as all of the water required immediately afterwards. But when I drank the second bottle at 5 a.m. the next morning, I was only able to keep the contents in my stomach for 5 minutes before experiencing severe nausea and vomiting. Unable to keep any liquids down despite continued attempts over the next 2 hours, I experienced dry mouth and skin as I dehydrated. My colonoscopy had to be canceled due to inability to complete prep."

For Bowel Preparation "Probably the worst drug experience I have ever had. Name the symptom on the list, I had it: headache, bloating, ear pain, severe nausea, belching, cramping, dizzy. It took 5.5 hours with the first dose to make my first run to the bathroom, and I was living on plain pasta and soups for the last 3 days. I have IBS-C, and my regular drug Trulance does a better clean out with a tsp of olive oil. Total nightmare. I luckily had Dulcolax in the house to be able to take 3 of those to add to the mix. Added that from reading here and took the second dose right after I started going, for fear I would not be done. I am determined to make this work even if I have to take more Dulcolax. Horrible drug. How can anyone prescribe something with a 50% success rate? Last time I took some salty grape thing, ice cold with ice and a cold water chaser, and it worked fast, and I was done with both doses by 11 pm. I have a 6:30 am arrival tomorrow and likely will have no sleep tonight."

For Bowel Preparation "First, I will confirm that I followed all my doctor's instructions precisely. After the first dose of Clenpiq at 5 pm, I had a terrible headache. Forty minutes after taking the second dose at 10 pm, the nausea and vomiting started. From 10:40 pm to 3:36 pm, I was sitting on the toilet throwing up in the trash can. I was mostly, but not completely, cleaned out. The doctor wrote on the report that the colonoscopy was difficult because there was 'retained stool.' That was no surprise since I'm sure I puked up most of the second dose."

For Bowel Preparation "It’s 12:18 AM, and I’m typing this as I sit on my bed in agony, waiting for the next mad dash to the bathroom. Let’s start with the taste.... imagine drinking salty, acidic, artificially sweetened sugar water. It’s DISGUSTING! The first bottle at 5 pm, I chugged like a champ along with 5 8oz glasses of water thereafter. Round two, however, and your girl is struggling. Halfway through bottle No. 2, and I got hit with a massive wave of nausea. I literally had to gag down the rest of the solution. Now I’m trying to get through 5 more 8oz glasses of water, and this much water on an empty stomach is making the nausea even worse. I’ve been going to the bathroom every 15 minutes or so since 5:30 pm. Now with bottle number 2, I imagine I’ll be up right until my colonoscopy in the morning. The good news is there is no abdominal cramping, but the taste and the nausea have left me with no desire to ever do this again."

For Bowel Preparation "This prep smells pleasant but is difficult to drink after the first swallow. It made me feel bloated and a little nauseated for 2-3 hours, and it took about 3 hours before it had some effect. The same thing happened with the second dose. On top of that, it made my rectum bleed. That was a first with a bowel prep. And lastly, it did a poor job of cleaning my bowels. This is my 5th time doing this, and this was the worst bowel prep! Give me a Miralax and Dulcolax combo any day! This stuff was no good!"

For Bowel Preparation "Tastes like sweet and salty chalk, but I didn't mind. I am on the 2nd bottle now. Tons of water and clear Pedialyte, so I have zero dehydration, no headaches or anything, no cramps, no nausea. Worried a bit because I only have a small amount of bowel movements that were just liquid, and now nothing. That's it? Did it work? I go in for the colonoscopy in about 3 hours. I am up all night feeling like I gotta go, but then don't. So we will see."

For Bowel Preparation "This was my first bowel prep, and it was way easier than I expected! I took Zofran before each dose, which definitely helped. I had about 20 minutes of nausea each dose, but after that, it was easy! I was totally clear and had an uneventful procedure."

For Bowel Preparation "I was prescribed Clenpiq for my first ever colonoscopy prep. I drank the first dose around 5 pm, and it started to kick in within an hour. It was super sweet and did not taste great. I felt nauseous for about 30 minutes after drinking each dose, but that went away. There was no warning when it kicked in. I think another reviewer used the phrase 'turned on the water works,' which is an accurate description of my experience. I spent at least an hour straight in the bathroom. It took about 3 to 4 hours for things to ease enough where I felt I could try to sleep. I took the 2nd dose around 3:15 am. It took less time to kick in, and I did have a slight urge this time. I went intermittently until it was time to leave my house at 7:45 am, but made it without any accidents on the drive there. I did have to go once after arriving, but it wasn't much. Overall, I felt Clenpiq did what it was supposed to with minimal side effects for me. I had a successful prep and colonoscopy."

For Bowel Preparation "I have had colonoscopies for 36 years now, spanning from every year to every 3-5 years. I was very upset to be told that I had to buy this product for my most recent prep. The total was $134.95, but there was an online coupon that I found where I got it for $40.00. I was used to a different prep that was under $8.00. Let me begin by saying that I'm a huge baby when it comes to this stuff. I hate drinking water/fluids. This prep was pretty good, the taste wasn't the greatest, but I sucked it through a straw and had my toothbrush waiting with lots of toothpaste to clean out my mouth! No cramping or nausea, the only bad thing about this prep is doing it twice, and it burns your butt real good! I used baby wipes and Vaseline between each episode to help ease the pain! Lol."

For Bowel Preparation "I'm 58. Had my second colonoscopy yesterday. First one was seven years ago. Clenpiq did what it was supposed to do. Was it a pleasant experience? No, but it's not supposed to be. Although the instructions say to dilute the liquid, the instructions from my doctor were to drink it straight from the bottle and then follow it up with lots of clear liquids. The solution itself tastes pretty nasty. Like cherry syrup, only much worse. I suspect that it would be difficult to make something like this taste good. Even though I only managed to down half of the second dose, I was cleaned out very well. Overall, the drug did what it was supposed to do, and I didn't get nauseous, so I'd say that it turned out pretty well."

For Bowel Preparation "Ok, so this was my fourth colonoscopy, and while different for each of us, I have to say I will be mildly inconvenienced by this in order to avoid getting colon cancer. That is what gets you through it! I have had different preps, and I liked this the best, and by best, everything is relative as they are all disgusting! But the volume of this is much lower. It doesn't taste like cranberry but instead like a sweet solution of something nasty. I gave it 9/10 only because I got very nauseous once and threw up, but I was very cleaned out for my procedure. And it also dehydrated me terribly, maybe because I didn't finish all of the required water, but I was drinking like a fish for a week after."

For Bowel Preparation "Awful experience. After drinking the first bottle, I vomited within 20 mins nonstop until it was completely out of my system. I did not have a bowel movement. I was nauseous and felt awful the rest of the night. I tried again in the morning, this time drinking it slowly, but vomited it up. Clenpiq is expensive and not worth it. If I had taken it earlier instead of 6 pm, maybe I would have had enough time to recuperate to switch to MiraLax. Ugh, such a bummer to have to reschedule and go through the prep again. I wish I had read reviews on it before taking it."

For Bowel Preparation "I followed my doctor's instructions for colonoscopy prep exactly, and this stuff still did not clean me out all the way, per my doctor! If you are going through all the effort of staying on a clear liquid diet for 36 hrs and making yourself have cramps and diarrhea, you would expect the stuff to actually do the job it's supposed to do! It tastes vile and had a really delayed effect, i.e., it was still 'cleaning me out' after my colonoscopy. Also made me feel nauseated, dizzy, and have headaches on and off. Would not recommend."

For Bowel Preparation "I’m a 46-year-old female, 120 lbs, and overall in very good physical health. I was prescribed Clenpiq, day-before regimen. Prep morning, I drank water hourly starting at 9 AM. 1st bottle of Clenpiq at 3 PM. Tasted weird, sweet drink, but palatable (not cranberry). Kept drinking liquids hourly: plain and coconut water, beef broth (“dinner”), Gatorade. Took 90 minutes for movement, gentle liquid diarrhea (like turning on a faucet), not explosive or painful like a stomach bug. 2 Dulcolax tabs at 6:30 PM. 10 PM, drank 2nd Clenpiq. Was difficult and had to drink in tiny sips, with sips of water in between to minimize foulness and a warm, uncomfortable sensation in my chest. Drank slowly so I wouldn’t become nauseous. 3 more glasses of water/coconut water until 12:45 AM. I was cleaned out and had a headache. Slept from 1 AM to 6 AM. Doctor said prep was very good and procedure was successful. My advice: follow directions closely, go on a reduced-volume clean diet before prep, and hydrate a lot!"

For Bowel Preparation "My dad passed away from colon cancer so I'm at high risk. This was my 6th colonoscopy but first with Clenpiq. We all know that the prep is worse than the actual procedure. No prep will be easy but this one seemed to be better than others in the past. My appointment time is Monday at 6 am, so I started the first bottle at 2 pm Sunday just to be sure. With other preps, I started later and was up all night. It started working at 5 pm. It did give me an awful headache but might have also been from coffee withdrawal today (I can't drink coffee black). Decided to drink Mountain Dew since it's okay and has caffeine and feel better. Started the second bottle at 8 pm and could only get half in. Felt too nauseated and didn't want to get sick. I seem to be almost “clear” and ready for tomorrow."

For Bowel Preparation "In the middle of prepping for colonoscopy. Started morning drinking lots of water. Then had 4 Ducalax tablets. Bowel was soft, but no diarrhea. Then I took my first bottle of Clenpiq. It gave me a headache, and then I threw up. Sat back on the toilet, and bowel was a cross between sluggish and diarrhea. Not looking forward to taking the second bottle."

For Bowel Preparation "This prep is certainly easier because it is just two small bottles to drink. Unfortunately, by the time I was ready to drink the second bottle, I was nauseated. You must drink lots of water with it. Two days later, and I still feel the awful side effects: headache, sore stomach, and some nausea. I think I preferred the older preps. You started them earlier, and there were fewer side effects, if any."

For Bowel Preparation "I’m a 23-year-old female weighing 120 pounds. I have ulcerative colitis, pancreatitis, and gastroparesis, so I’ve been getting colonoscopies/endoscopies regularly since I was 17 when I was diagnosed. I usually use Prepopik, and it has always been easy to drink and easy on my stomach. This year, my doctor decided to have me try Clenpiq instead. She gave me a sample box, so I didn’t have to pay out of pocket for it. I took a Zofran before the first dose and drank the bottle in about a half hour. The taste wasn’t terrible, but it certainly wasn’t easy either. I only produced two movements in the span from 5 pm to 2 am. I drank the second bottle, it was easier to drink than the first one, but I threw it up about 20 minutes after finishing it. I laid in bed with a stomach ache and nausea the rest of the night with only one more movement. This is the worst experience I’ve had with prep so far. I wouldn’t suggest this product."

For Bowel Preparation "I am 54 years old and in excellent health. I followed my doctor's orders leading up to taking this drug and only had clear liquids on the day before my colonoscopy. I took the first dose at noon and drank water as instructed. After 45 minutes, the cleansing started, but so did horrible side effects. I had a severe headache, extreme nausea, vomiting, and weakness. I was in agony for the next 4 hours when it was time for the second dose. I merely took two sips and vomited. I was very sick until midnight (12 hours) only after ingesting the first dose and had to cancel my procedure. It is 5 am the next morning, and I still don't feel well. I don't recommend this to anyone. Not worth the risk."

For Bowel Preparation "Only two small bottles, but geez, it tastes bad; sickly sweet and nauseating. I used a straw to try and direct it towards the back of my mouth; tried Cepacol lozenges to numb the taste buds; tried seltzer to try and make it more tolerable, perhaps with some improvement. Sprite and apple juice just made things worse. It did clean me out for my colonoscopy (though I wasn't able to finish the morning bottle) with a minimal amount of cramping, but, ugh, I don't know that I would use it again."

For Bowel Preparation "This was my third colonoscopy. Previous preps made me extremely nauseous, so I had great hopes for Clenpiq. I took the first dose, which tasted okay, and drank the clear liquids as prescribed. But there was no action. Finally had some success after 2 1/2 hours, but it was normal. Went to bed and had the 'dam breaking' after 8 hours! By that time, the second dose was due, but I was still going on the toilet. Colonoscopy was not wholly successful since they couldn’t get past the sigmoid colon. Clenpiq just didn’t work for me."
