For Skin or Soft Tissue Infection "Cleared up my abscess. Also, I kept getting bacterial vaginitis for a year straight. I swear my bacterial vaginitis cleared up! This actually works to clear that up also. I thought my bacterial vaginitis issue was stuck with me forever."

Keflex (cephalexin) for Skin or Soft Tissue Infection "I fell off my longboard and made some bad dressing decisions. After 3 days, I saw a doctor who prescribed this and silver sulfadiazine. After 10 days, it completely healed. Unfortunately, I have had another tumble, this time with a broken wrist and 10 open wounds. On it again. Trusting old Keflex to help again."

For Skin or Soft Tissue Infection "Horrible medicine. My doctor prescribed me cephalexin for an infected boil that I burst & got infected. I was told to take 4 tabs 500 mg daily for 7 days I'm a lupus patient already taking plaquenil 400 mg daily. Anyways I went after 7 days the infection wasn't healed yet so my doctor told me to continue for 10 more day but when I started to continue I got a horrible rash all over my arms & neck, along with this I got continuous headaches so I stopped the medication. But the rash is still there & I'm getting blisters on my body. Thinking to go in an emergency."

For Skin or Soft Tissue Infection "Cephalexin got rid of the infection, but I had horrible side effects. I took it for 4 days, at a dose of 500 mg, 4 times a day. I had horrible headaches, diarrhea, major depression, dry and bloodshot eyes, nausea, was very tired, and didn't have motivation to do anything. Anxiety, joints were on fire! Stopped a day ago and still feel awful! Won't take it again because of side effects."

For Bacterial Infection "I went to ER 5 weeks after giving birth cause my husband thought I had infection. Everything was fine but the ER doctor gave me thais cephalexin to "get ahead" of my "infection". I have to take it for 10 days, twice a day. I got side effects of vaginal and anal itching and vaginal discharge. It has been a month and no doctor can help me. I feel like dying. At night time, I can feel that something is poking my genital area like needles. I can't take care of my newborn properly because I'm so tired. This medicine doesn't let me sleep. I CURSE THIS MEDICINE! I feel like I'm being tortured. The itch is the worst. The surface of my vagina is swelling. Im crying at night. I don't know what to do anymore. I went to my Ob doctor and he just gave me a steriod cream. It helped with swelling but made my skin super thin it hurts. I used an over the counter cream, it helps for a few minutes. Im taking benadryl. I took 2 packs of benadryl already. I'm trying to find an allergist that can help me."

For Kidney Infections "I am on day 2 of Keflex for a kidney infection from an untreated urinary tract infection. I am allergic to most antibiotics, such as amoxicillin and erythromycin, so I was hesitant to try this. I am so happy to say I have no allergic reaction and no diarrhea! I do feel some tingling sensations in my head and a tiny bit of anxiety (probably all in my head), but nothing compared to an antibiotic like Levaquin. I think I found my new go-to antibiotic!"

Keflex (cephalexin) for Upper Respiratory Tract Infection "Being a person with cancer in remission and following health problems- COPD, Bronchiectasis, Chronic Bronchitis, Emphysema, Chronic Sinus and ear infection, odd UTI at odd times. I passed out during the night and woke up on the floor and could not get up off the floor or walk - not Covid. After roughly four to five trips by ambulance to hospital and various drug treatments with relapses now and again my GP put me on low dose 250 mg Keflex to take one tablet every night and since that day have never had to go back to hospital or have not passed out again. So possibly l may now be helped with bacterial infections, and I can only speak of my personal experience but for me this is a wonder drug. I do realize that bacteria become immune to antibiotics but as far as I know I have had no adverse side effects. Antibiotics have come a long way, since I was a child. My age is now seventy nine years of age. I do not have diabetes or heart problems, mainly lung problems and do not smoke."

For Bacterial Infection "After very minor foot surgery, I was put on 500 mg Cephalexin 4 times per day for a week. After 4 days, my digestive system went septic, and I had to quit the medication. I seldom take even over-the-counter drugs and have never had a reaction this severe to an antibiotic before. I thought I would get back to normal after a week, but after 3 more weeks, my digestive system has not improved. I have scheduled an appointment with another doctor in hopes of regaining my normal health."

For Bacterial Infection "I was going through severe anxiety, heart palpitations, tachycardia, body numbness, going in and out of another world. I had new allergys, twitching when I would almost fall asleep, 21 ER visits later I found the answer. The antibiotic I was on for tooth infection caused severe ulcers all threw out my GI track, it can cause all of that. I almost had a couple heart attacks before I realized this. Here is what my treatment is consisting of, beta blockers to control the heart palpitations ( you need them or it will get bad) Ativan to control the anxiety (this too will get worse) Steroids to fix your mental state, reduce intestinal swelling, and get your immune system back on track so your allergies stop (this too will get worse) and a PPI pill to stop the stomach acid so they can heal. Also I'm waiting for a scope treatment from a Gastro Doctor. I'm hoping I can make it until then but for anybody else experiencing what I did please get it addressed ASAP, I was told by every doctor it was anxiety and even banned from a ER"

Keflex (cephalexin) for Skin or Soft Tissue Infection "I had a tooth that broke off while eating pretzels well as time goes by no real problems with it, however it made the tooth next to it get loose & agitated it becomes an infection I get put on Keflex 500 mg three times a day for seven days for the infection I have taken this medication before after two days the infection starts to go away my mouth feels better. I’m not in pain anymore however, the night terrors, hallucinations, & anxiety. The night terrors are morbid they are something out of the “ Saw “ movies! If you have any mental disorders or any small underline ones I recommend you do not take this medication Bc it WILL MAKE YOU CRAZY!"

For Bacterial Infection "I suffered a urinary tract infection a week ago and went to the doctor when they prescribed me Clindamycin 300 mg 3 times in 3 days and Cipro 500 mg every 12 hours. I couldn't take either of them because I can't swallow big pills, and I'm afraid Cipro is a little strong for me. I get real anal when it comes to taking medicine like this, for I have a fear of side effects and haven't taken antibiotics before. I went back just the other day and switched medicines and I'm taking this, a liquid form 250 mg every 6 hours in four days for 10 days. It tastes really good and it smells good, looks like Pepto-Bismol. I always take it with food and I have no side effects, and so far it's working great! I highly recommend anyone to take this medicine that suffers urinary tract infection."

Keflex (cephalexin) for Bladder Infection "I have been going back and forth battling a UTI for about a year. I take D-Mannose, which usually knocks it out in a day or so, but the D-Mannose has been giving me weird pains in my carotids. Anyway, I decided to go get a script after waking up with severe bladder pain a few days ago. About six hours after the first dose, the pain subsided. This medication will make you nauseated if you don't take it with at least 6 oz of water and a snack. No negative side effects yet! Love Keflex!"

For Bacterial Infection "I am currently using this medication to fight a staph infection. I'm not sure how I got it, but it seemed to start from a bug bite of some sort. The infection was the size of a golf ball and had lightning streaks running up my arm. The doctor had to cut open my arm and clean out the pus. Well, it's been about a week, and the infection has cleared up. Cephalexin seemed to work very well. I have no side effects, and I'm feeling great."

Keflex (cephalexin) for Skin or Soft Tissue Infection "I have suffered with ulcers on my ankles (poor circulation) for years. Every once in a while, one if not both will get infected. Legs swell, and skin turns purple, as well as becoming very sensitive. The ulcers feel as though hot pins are being shoved into them. Keflex always knocks out the infection within a few days."

For Bacterial Infection "I’m currently on my 5 th day of cephelaxin 500 mg 4X a day . I have an abscess from shaving with a dull razor and not using shaving gel, that’s what I’m thinking anyway. Anyway, this antibiotic is really messing me up. I’m anxious, paranoid around people, super irritable, I feel scared in general. My stomach is distended and I’m constipated and retaining water. I want to stop but I’m scared to. I’m going to call my dr. Thanks every one for posting about your experience. Helping Me a lot"

Keflex (cephalexin) for Kidney Infections "This is a medication that I had a bad time with and didn't want to take again until I was told to take a probiotic with it. I had taken Bactrim for 6 days and still was sick, if not worse off than before the Bactrim. I received 3 bags of Rocephin in the hospital and every day was given a probiotic. I came home with Keflex and no side effects with a probiotic. I can tell with another week as prescribed that how I feel now is how it would have felt if I caught this sooner than I did. God bless the nurse who told me this. No yeast infection. Minimal nausea. I can still eat. The pain is finally getting better. Yes there can be nightmares which is odd. However, with a probiotic I rate this as effective as Cipro, which is great because that one has a black box warning."
