For Urinary Tract Infection "Day two of this very strong antibiotic and I think I'm out of all farts left to give. Is it a fart or more severe diarrhea from this pill? I wander yet again helplessly into the bathroom, unaware that I evidently eaten something disgusting at some point, as I see it evacuates from my now flaming hot butt. Flushing the toilet provides no relief from the horrid antibiotic gut stench, and splash back creates a new horror of germs taking residence on my butt cheeks. I'm left wondering when I had time to eat a pile of something so disgusting as the smell indicates? I don't know. Pray for my bum. It hurts. 5 more days to go. On a positive note: the UTI is absolutely better! I took the first antibiotic at 11:30 am, and I stopped burning/urgent urinating by 4 pm. Very effective for UTI."

For Pelvic Inflammatory Disease "I was given an injection of ceftriaxone two days ago for pelvic inflammatory disease. A few hours after I received the injection, I suddenly felt lightheaded and dizzy and needed to lie down. When I woke up, I had terrible diarrhea. I ended up spending the entire night violently ill, getting intense hot flashes before vomiting, and then getting so cold that I was shivering uncontrollably. I vomited six times, and my body (especially my legs) is still in so much pain. My green discharge seems to have improved, but my pelvic pain is actually much worse now because of how much pain I'm in after vomiting and shivering. My boyfriend and I had the same food, and he was not sick, and a nurse told me this is a rare reaction to this injection."

Ceftriaxone for Bacterial Infection "Had a horrible cough for 7 days, with varying colors of sputum. Went from green to yellow to frothy white. At day 5, I had diarrhea and loss of appetite. I was weak and fragile, lethargic and dehydrated. Went into an urgent care walk-in, was swabbed for strep - came back false positive since it had been 7 days already. Doctor checked my throat, it was a harsh red, with inflammation and swelling. Given a shot of Rocephin to jumpstart my antibiotic treatments. Shot was painless for me. I feel better after a few hours, still have some throat and cough, but overall, I'm regaining my energy and my appetite."
