Ceftriaxone "TMI, I was burning pretty bad down there. It was the worst pain I had ever experienced down there. I finally gave in and went to an urgent care. Come to find out, I had a raging UTI. I had never had one before, so I had no idea. The doctor gave me a shot of Rocephin in the butt and boom, the next day I was back to normal. They made me wait 10-15 minutes before I could leave to make sure I didn’t have any side effects. I really recommend getting this if you have a UTI. I know that there are antibiotics out there for UTIs, but most of them take a couple of days to start feeling relief."

Ceftriaxone "I received Rocephin for treatment of thyroiditis through IV in a diluent 2 years back. Just after 3 to 4 minutes of IV infusion, my body started getting warmth and severe itching on the whole body along with sweating. The medication was immediately stopped, however, the feeling continued for the next 10 to 15 minutes. I was given an antidote immediately to reduce the symptoms and was shifted to ICU for vital observation. It was the worst experience of my life with any antibiotics. It didn't work for me. But everyone must also be careful if they are getting it for the first time."

Ceftriaxone "Got this shot 4 1/2 hours ago. Let me tell you, miracles exist! I was dying from a severe sore throat, and my tonsils were so red and swollen. I couldn’t even swallow my own saliva. I had headaches so bad that I felt my head would explode. This shot is amazing. I can swallow again, I can breathe with my mouth closed. Wow."

Ceftriaxone "I 100% recommend this drug for anyone with an intense infection. I am currently on Flagyl due to a C. Diff infection, and my doctor advised me not to take any antibiotics orally. Was diagnosed with a double ear infection and a chest infection after going into urgent care for symptoms unrelated to C. Diff. Let them know everything, and my care plan now involves using this injection to clear up my ear and chest infections through my muscles instead of the digestive tract since I am still taking Flagyl. The injection stung a tad when injected, but I hardly felt anything other than that due to my fear of rupture in my eardrum. Honestly, I couldn't say how big the needle was because I was too focused on what was being said about the possible rupture. I have 2 more injections to do over the next two days, and I am looking forward to them. This is a miracle. I already feel less pressure in my ears, and it's only been 6 hours. I expect this to be gone very soon! So pleased. No side effects to me at all."

Ceftriaxone "Suffer with lower back pain, so I did not notice the kidney infection forming. Went to the ER as pain was increasing and moving to the flank right side. Turns out it was an acute right-sided kidney infection with stone blockage, as well as bladder involvement. This antibiotic was a serious lifesaver, as the pain was becoming intolerable. Within 24 hours, a marked improvement. For anyone with a reaction, it is related to penicillin, and if you have a reaction to penicillin, it’s not a medication you should have. Not a drug company issue, but an individual issue. Each medication can affect each individual differently, no way to foresee an issue from the drug company, but the treating physician should have warned that if you have a penicillin reaction, then this too will affect you. I was asked by the physician and went over allergies prior to injection. Fully informed on each medication I ever take. Highly recommend, the injection does have a real burn to it, worth the end result! Best of luck to all."

"I have COPD and other lung issues. For two weeks, I received two shots a week. At first, it seemed to help with little side effects. By the third shot, it did not seem like it was working anymore. The fourth shot caused severe side effects. I broke out in an itchy rash from head to toe, my throat was starting to constrict combined with a 'sick' feeling getting worse as the day went on. I ended up in the ER with throat constriction and difficulty breathing. After several hours of oxygen and Benadryl, I was released. I will NEVER take this med again. I still have the lung and heart sac infection!"

"Wonder drug. Every time I get strep/tonsillitis, this shot of Rocephin in the butt cheek is the ONLY thing that clears it up and fast. 1 GRAM IM, within hours the white stuff on my tonsils has gone away, fever gone, and I feel like myself again. Complete waste of time taking oral antibiotics that aren't strong enough. Most foreign countries use Rocephin as first line of medicine to clear bacterial infection. Yet in the US, they offer to torture you with countless oral antibiotics that don't work. I found one urgent care near me that always gives me a shot whenever I get tonsillitis..thank goodness."

"Had a severe bacterial infection in my knee. Went in for surgery and afterwards was put on a daily intravenous treatment of ceftriaxone for 28 days. After 3 sessions, the pain was gone with no related side effects. Interestingly, prior to the treatment I had moderate psoriasis with several areas of my body covered in plaques. After 4 sessions the plaques were gone! I have used every topical medication, creams, and ointments with no success. This antibiotic cleared it in a week. Only negative issues are I have been experiencing slight anxiety, fear, and depression which are not listed as side effects of this medicine. The psoriasis remission from ceftriaxone is a tremendous relief."

"Horrible drug. I was given a shot for a bacterial infection, and within an hour, my throat and lips swelled and were sore. An hour later, horrible cramps, like the worst menstrual cramps but not on my period. My eyes burned; eyes bloodshot red with green phlegm oozing out of them! This was an hour after the shot. My jaw and facial muscles hurt. Pain from cramps hurt all through my legs. I told the doctor, and she said that it was taking bacteria out of my body. She switched me to cefotaxime, and absolutely no reaction. Beware, I used this drug before with no prior reaction. I don’t know if my body rejected it or what, but the pain haunts me. Be careful. On the FDA side effects, they did not disclose my reaction. I know for a fact this was only to this drug, ceftriaxone, because I had to have a 10-day administration IM, and I was given this drug again, and within 30 minutes, my throat started to hurt, swell, and lips burned. Chest pain and muscle aches all over my body, especially thighs, then horrible lower abdominal pain."

Ceftriaxone "My 79-year-old mother died 30 minutes after receiving a Rocephin shot. Rocephin is the “catch-all” antibiotic given in the ER in most African countries. Unfortunately, the manufacturers of this drug are not concerned about adverse reactions suffered by third-world country patients."

Ceftriaxone "My husband was given a shot of Rocephin. Within seconds, he was in anaphylactic shock. He was given Benadryl to reverse the medication. He was rushed to the hospital, his blood pressure shot through the roof. He nearly died. From the shot, he suffers from serum sickness, high blood pressure, irregular heartbeat, extreme sweating, restless leg syndrome, headaches, loss of appetite, PTSD, extreme panic attacks, hyperactivity, insomnia, flushing, jitters all the time, fear, depression, chest pain, and a feeling of discomfort. Loss of dignity, my husband is a different person, and this drug did this to him. It is a daily struggle every moment to keep positive and hope for a cure to fix his neurological damage this shot has caused."
