"I had a PICC (IV route) and self-administered cefazolin for 8 weeks. My dosage was 6 gm, 480 mL infused continuously over a 24-hour period. I would occasionally have an upset stomach from being slightly sensitive to dairy, which is my fault, not the medication. I followed the recommendation (from every source I read) to NOT use products to ease diarrhea. Personally, I tend to have allergic reactions to many things across the board: medication, soaps, and detergents. Most typical were skin reactions such as rashes. Antibiotics tend to cause stomach problems. I had essentially no issues with cefazolin. The only thing I experienced was smelly urine (which is common). I’m pretty impressed with this medicine, especially for it being an antibiotic!"
