"This drug saved my mother's life. She had septicemia and a 106-degree fever. She had stopped being able to speak. The reason for the inability to speak remained undetermined after five months in a special hospital. She was home for one day. Then she was transported to another hospital. An infectious disease specialist and her old family physician treated her when she entered the hospital. She was also put on a special cooling bed to reduce fever. The next day, as I entered the hospital, my mother spoke for the first time in months. She was alert. She asked me to get her ice cream. I called her old family doctor. He responded with an emphatic 'Yes' to her ice cream request. It was one of the happiest days. She lived many more years. Worth the risk."
