For High Blood Pressure "Dr. put me on this med, Carvedilol 2 years ago after an aneurysm surgery, beginning with 12.5 mg, gradually increasing it to 25 mg. Two times each day along with this, also taking 50 mg Losartan each day. (Total of 100 mg of blood pressure medicine) I had always been active and physically fit before this and started going downhill fast! After months of headaches, being dizzy, numbness/tingling in hands and feet, dark urine, bruising on arms, blurred vision, and most importantly, shortness of breath and a cough! I cut each med in half and still didn't get better. I saw on the computer, side effects for Carvedilol described what I had been experiencing. I saw my Dr. and told him I refused to take any more of these meds and he could either put me back on 25 mg Atenolol (which I had been on for 16 years with no ill effects) or I wouldn't take anything. Today is day #5 on the Atenolol. I feel already I'm getting my life back. More energy, no dizziness, and best of all, I can breathe normally."

For High Blood Pressure "I've been on carvedilol for 6 months, in conjunction with lisinopril, and it has worked well on lowering my blood pressure, where the lisinopril alone was barely fazing it. With no medicines my pressure was running around 200s/120s, on lisinopril alone it was only coming down to 180s/100s. Since being on carvedilol, it runs (in my opinion) almost too low, around 90s to low 100s over 50s. This doesn't bother me so much, but occasionally, and for no reason I determine, it will either spike or plummet. It has been as high as 180/98 and as low as 86/38. THAT was scary. I also have nausea, dizziness upon standing or moving very suddenly, and nearly disabling headaches. I like what it does for my blood pressure, but not how it makes me feel."

For High Blood Pressure "I’ve had just horrible side effects. My blood pressure would spike throughout the day, getting as high as 184/94, which caused lots of anxiety. Trouble sleeping. Arrhythmias throughout the day caused headaches at the top of my head and around the carotid artery. Shortness of breath, dizziness, nausea, weakness, and bloody sinuses. At one point, I thought I was going to have a stroke or get kidney disease. It’s been 2 weeks, and some of the symptoms have decreased. I don’t think I want to stay with this product. I hope there’s no damage to my arteries or organs. Time will tell, but I hope the FDA takes this one off the market! I prefer to go back to Metoprolol. It was a lot of praying, day, noon, and night that got me through this!"

For High Blood Pressure "Got severe neck pain the first time I took carvedilol. Now, more than a year after being put on it, I have terrible lightheadedness and gnawing headaches. I also have BP spikes and periods of low BP. Have been trying to get docs to switch medication but one will hand off to another and nothing gets done. NOT a reliable medication. Side effects worse than benefits."

For High Blood Pressure "I've been on this Coreg for eight months, 25 mg twice daily. I play golf and walked the courses before medication. Now, I can't even finish a par 3 course without getting out of breath and being extremely tired. This stuff is awful and doesn't work that well. I now get headaches daily and have trouble sleeping at night. Stay away from this."

For High Blood Pressure "Well, I'm 34 yrs old and been fighting with my blood pressure for about three years now. Partially because I was in denial about my condition and didn't want to take any medication. Well, I started having headaches and chest pain, and I needed to take something. My doctor put me on metoprolol 25 mg, and it kept my blood pressure down to a normal level, but the side effects I couldn't take: headaches, bad abdominal pains. I had to switch to something else. I've been on carvedilol 6.25 mg for two days, and I think it's starting to work. I had pains in my chest and neck for about a week, and it's starting to slowly go away. If you smoke, it's a bad idea to do it while on this medicine. I smoked for 14 yrs, and this medicine forced me to stop, and I'm thankful and healthier."

For Atrial Fibrillation "Have tried metoprolol, tried verapamil, now carvedilol. I am getting horrible side effects again. Waking with a headache in the morning, and it just stays all day. Panadol doesn't relieve it. My ears are constantly ringing like I have been to a loud music concert. I get stomach pains and nausea. Sometimes I get a buzzing sensation from heart to forehead. Urinating a lot, thirsty. Just hate all these meds."

For High Blood Pressure "Carvedilol was added to current medication, Losartan, I am taking. It is not helping lower my BP. And after having taken carvedilol for three months, I started having terrible headaches (back and both sides), upset stomach (feeling nauseous) issues. I plan to ask my doctor to approve me to stop carvedilol."

For Atrial Fibrillation "Prescribed 6.25 mg carvedilol 2x a day for my rapid heartbeat and blockage in the main artery. Second week and I am not liking it. Was on 25 mg metoprolol for 10 years; tolerated it well except for years of sleeplessness, and it kept my BP in good range 128/77. Now on carvedilol, my BP is higher with spikes. I feel off, dizzy, vivid dreams turning into nightmares last night. First few days I was having bad stomach pains until I started taking the med after food. I am afraid to take any other medications like allergy meds and ibuprofen. I am also waking up with a headache and felt like I was having an allergic reaction. Rapid heartbeat a little less. Maybe side effects will subside? I hope."

For High Blood Pressure "This medicine gave me headaches, and the doctor said it did not work to lower my blood pressure. At the office, I am 125/100. At home, I am usually 120/80 or lower. Can this be white coat syndrome? Anyway, the doctor is switching me to another medicine. This next medicine will be my sixth blood pressure medicine."

For Atrial Fibrillation "I've been on it since March 2020. Since taking it, I've had about 5 episodes of rapid heartbeat, up to 160 bpm. I'm taking 12.5 mg a day. Since taking it, headaches are common, dizziness to the point of almost blacking out, strange feelings in my chest, up 2-3 times a night to go to the bathroom, and sexual function almost nonexistent. I've requested to have it removed from my daily med list. I don't know if the side effects are worth it. I don't know if it helps or not."

Carvedilol for High Blood Pressure "12.5 mg 2 times a day. I had headaches and numbness in my fingers. There was some swelling in my lower legs. My blood pressure dropped only 4 points. The doctor switched my medication after 3 months."

For High Blood Pressure "I was prescribed this drug, carvedilol, for high blood pressure. In short, it is horrible. Chest pains, anxiety, and headaches. Trying to get back off with the doctor's help. Don't start this drug. Find something else."
