Carvedilol for High Blood Pressure "I experienced extreme depression after I started this medication at 25 mg per day. I never had depression before. The doctor said it would go away. It did not, and I demanded that a different medication be prescribed. Depression is an unacceptable side effect."

For Atrial Fibrillation "Taking carvedilol for 8 weeks now. Started off fine and seemed like it was the answer. Now, extreme tiredness, dizzy spells, nausea, and episodes of low blood pressure and heart rate. Depression is just an added bonus side effect. Ready to throw all meds in the garbage and roll the dice. 68 yrs old."

For High Blood Pressure "After 10 years of doctors trying all kinds of BP meds, I gave up and refused to take them. My pharmacist finally recommended I try Carvedilol. While others caused depression and ED, this med works for me without side effects. I had not had 'morning wood' in at least five years, and the second day I was on this medication, I woke up with an erection, and I have had no issues with keeping a strong erection for sex. I feel like me again. No depression, no weakness, and good stamina for my workouts/runs."

For High Blood Pressure "Carvedilol was added along with HCTZ 3/6/18, to be taken 2x a day for high blood pressure. Within the hour, I started having sporadic migraine-type headaches with a severe 'ice pick sensation' over the top of my head, mobilized, terrible headache pain behind my eyes and at the back of my head. Seems like chronic back pain was made worse. I feel even more tired, no energy, even less motivation, with horrible derealization. BP before was 152/90. BP later was 147/87-64. Glucose 126, 3 hours after lunch. Migraine ice pick sensation back again, headache pain behind my eyes with shooting headache at the back of my head at 4:12 pm, BP 166/86-59. Glucose 58, 5 hours after dinner. BP, 1:59 am 145/78-69. 2nd dose 2:20 am 140/75-69. I had taken HCTZ first, 2 hours later taken Carvedilol. My voiding seems normal until taking Carvedilol, which leaves a very noticeable decrease in voiding throughout the day and night. I also have experienced feeling more cold, with hands and fingers tingling with palpitations in my neck."

For High Blood Pressure "Carvedilol 25. This drug makes me feel terrible, it makes me very sleepy, it makes me have nightmares. I forget this, and I get confused. I also get depressed and don't care about anything or being around anyone. Most of the time, I am awake at 4 and never go back to sleep, but it does keep my BP down."

For High Blood Pressure "Female, age 74, using for 1 year. In the fall of 2021, I had two strokes, just one month apart. After the second, I was placed on the lowest dose of carvedilol, 3.125 mg I think. Later, my primary doubled it to 6.25 mg, and when I saw my cardiologist later that same month, he doubled it again to 12 mg twice a day. This was done because the med was not controlling my BP. By January 2022, I literally had no life, no motivation, exhausted all the time, and with the result of being depressed, which is not my natural state. So my primary gave me Zoloft, which I gradually increased to 75 mg. Granted, this med, which my friends love, has a different effect on everyone. In my case, I took it first thing in the morning with the insomnia so terrible that I could not fall asleep until 5 to 6 am. This made my life so much worse. I was also put on Valsartan, and then that was doubled. In May 2022, my primary also put me on a heart water pill (HCT?). I knew that would make things even worse. At this point."

Carvedilol "I had an 80% heart block and had a stent put in. I was placed on 6.25 mg of Coreg a day. I felt great the day after the stent. Once home, I continued medication as told. Each day I felt worse than the day before. By day seven, I had no energy, my hands were numb and blotchy, I had chest and shoulder pain, shortness of breath, and depression. I called the doctor, and he said I could stop it. The next day, I felt three times better. I hope it continues to improve."

"Carvedilol has ruined my life. I was put on 25 mg 2x per day to start without any idea how powerful this drug is. It wiped me out to the point I could not function. I kept telling them to decrease the dose, and they said I'd get used to it. The panic attacks started about 3-4 weeks in, depression followed. Am now weaning off, and with the help of Zoloft and counseling, hoping to get my life back. Be very careful with this drug."

For High Blood Pressure "I have been on Carvedilol for about a year now after suffering a panic attack (thought I was having a heart attack) and going to the ER. ER doctor suggested I go see a Cardiologist to help ease my mind (I had convinced myself something is wrong with my heart). After doing all the tests (stress & ECG), everything looks good besides some minor swelling, but wanted to put me on BP medicine because I was averaging around 145/85-90 every time I saw him. I really, really, really don't like the side effects. I have constant heartburn, chest soreness and muscle pain, mainly in my left chest, shoulder, and upper back. It has caused so much anxiety because I'm constantly thinking my chest pain is heart-related. I'm finally at the point where I think I'm going to go to a different doctor because mine keeps saying all the side effects are just in my head. But it has caused real problems, I have gained 50 lbs since being on the meds due to depression and fear of being active (cardiophobia). 30 y/o male 300 lbs"
