For Smoking Cessation "I was a heavy smoker since 13 years ago, 2 and a half packs a day. I am 31 years old. One day, I thought I would never see my 50th birthday, so I decided to quit. At first, I took Zyban for one month, my cigarettes cut down to 10 a day within the first week, but after a week my body resisted. I continued taking Zyban for one month and nothing changed, so I decided to add Chantix to my regimen. After 2 days of taking Chantix 3 mgs per day, I completely quit! Now it's been 3 days I am tobacco-free. The only side effects that I think are from nicotine withdrawal are intense headaches all day long. I just wanted to write this review for those who fail to quit, try combining drugs, especially for Chantix. Some of us may need higher doses to work. There is absolutely no interaction between Zyban and Chantix. This review is mainly for those who couldn't quit using one of the drugs alone. I hope this was helpful."

For Smoking Cessation "Ok. On day 4 of this medication. Started with 150 mg per day for 3 days and now onwards it's 300 mg. First of all, I'm not convinced this drug is worth it. Side effects days 1-3 included blurry vision, feeling spaced out. Today it was bouts of crying and then a burning sensation in the abdomen and chest. I'm smoking 1 pack on this. God only knows."

For Smoking Cessation "My daughter, after two weeks of taking this 'medicine,' spent, on January 3, 2020, a day and a half in the Emergency Room after collapsing at home in an epileptic seizure when she stopped breathing. I do not wish anyone to feel helpless when you hold your limp adult child in your hand, eyes wide, without signs of life, without any movement of the diaphragm, and without heart action when you think this is the end. I would also like to thank all the rescue services that were involved in her rescue at that moment, from the fire brigade to the rapid ambulance. I am sure that without their help and quick action, it would not have worked well! It was necessary to stabilize the heart because the heart rate was extremely fast and critically high. The brain CT then revealed four consecutive seizures, which led the doctor to decide to entrust the daughter to the care of a neurologist in a larger city. Please take this message as a warning against this medicine, Zyban, and its offspring, Wellbutrin."

"After trying almost all antidepressants, after taking Zyban, my concentration, my mood jumped from literally 0% to 100%. If you have depression and SSRIs aren't working, try Zyban, you won't regret it. Also, I wasn't getting sleep all night, but after the Zyban + mirtaz combo, I could sleep normally again."

For Smoking Cessation "I don't understand how Zyban (Wellbutrin) helped anyone stop smoking. I was on Zyban for depression but have since been put on another antidepressant. Once I was on the other antidepressant was when my doctor told me about Zyban. I never noticed any difference in my smoking cravings while on Zyban. Maybe had I been told that Zyban could help with smoking cessation while on it, I may have quit. So far, I still love to smoke."

"I have suffered with anxiety for many years, which sometimes leads to depression. Zyban was prescribed for it. For the first 2 days, I was wired, my mood was focused and neutral. I was not bothered to eat at all and just kept doing chores all day. I was wide awake at night. Day 3, I noticed I was constipated and ended up getting a mild laxative to help me go. On day 3, my anxiety came back, although about 2-3 times as bad as before. Instead of being me with anxiety, I felt like a shell with anxiety. I could hardly keep tears at bay at work. I simultaneously cared too much and not at all about everything. Everything seemed gray. I looked forward to nothing. Felt no joy and couldn't smile. Constant adrenaline and fear. It was like a living nightmare. I had the odd moment of relief here and there where I could function, but still felt like a walking shell. Now, after 2.5 weeks, I can't take it anymore. I don't usually quit things, but it's too much. I'm quitting cold turkey and starting on Ciprotan tomorrow."

For Smoking Cessation "After smoking for almost 30 years, I am proud to say I have not smoked in 4 months, thanks to Zyban. I felt strange taking it in the first 10 days, and it made me not want to smoke because I had sort of a physical reaction when I tried to. It was weird, my throat felt like it was closed off, so the cigarettes were no longer enjoyable. I thought I would have to stop spending time with smokers, but the Zyban helped so much that I didn’t even mind when someone smoked in front of me. I also only took one pill a day instead of upping the dose to 2 after 10 days. I spoke with my doctor about this, and she said it was okay as long as I felt one would help me kick the habit. I think that only being on one per day made withdrawals easier when it came time to come off the meds. My lungs feel so much better, I am glad I don’t stink anymore, the money I’m saving is incredible, and my daughter is no longer afraid that I will die. I recommend Zyban, expect to feel strange for the first while."

For Smoking Cessation "Do not take this drug. My husband took this to help with smoking cessation. During the entire time, he had bad dreams, but during the fifth week he dreamed he was jumping off a boat, jumped off the bed and crashed to the floor, fracturing his left shoulder and badly bruising his left hip. After four days of extensive testing in the hospital, the doctors concluded the 'fall' was from Zyban. Terrible, terrible pain and very scary."
