For Smoking Cessation "Today, Feb. 14, 2017, marks 19 years of being a non-smoker, and I owe it all to Zyban. I had a few sleepless nights the first week or so, but the craving to smoke went away. I was amazed. I smoked for 32 years, and I loved them. I lit up as soon as I got out of bed. The only time I was without a cigarette was sleeping or taking a shower! At the end, I smoked 3 packs a day and heard my chest rattle. I've always been on the lean side, but I was worried about gaining weight if I quit. I did gain a few pounds but got a handle on that. Zyban was the best thing I ever did for myself! Many thanks to my wonderful retired doctor who prescribed Zyban."

For Smoking Cessation "The Great British health service paid for my 12-week course. I smoked 30 a day and tried a number of various methods to quit; nicotine patches, cold turkey, acupuncture, Chinese medicine, and even hypnosis, all with varying degrees of success yet none with any long-term success. After the first couple of days taking Zyban, I realized I was reaching out less and less for a cigarette and when I did, I lit up, I could not experience that nicotine 'hit'. I was 'cured' after 9 weeks but continued with the full 12-week course. Side effects... I gained a few pounds in weight. My quit date was 22nd February 2002."

For Smoking Cessation "Started smoking at 13, up to 2 1/2 packs a day. Wife also smoked, up to 2 packs a day. We both started Zyban at the same time. Took meds and smoked for a week, stopped the smoking, then a week later, stopped the meds. Haven't regretted doing it. Although I don't feel a whole lot better, still huff and puff at the top of the stairs, gained about 25 pounds, but I know we are both better for having quit. Recommend to anyone who really wants to quit."

For Smoking Cessation "I was prescribed Zyban for depression and smoking cessation. I had been on a different antidepressant immediately prior for 1 month (during which my depression had worsened). I had immediate relief from depression upon starting Zyban for about a week (until the other drug had left my system). In the last 3 weeks, there has been little effect in alleviating depression and no effect in reducing cravings for smoking. Somehow, I managed to put on a few kilos in the month I took it. Not a good drug for me."
