For Migraine Prevention "I want to advise people that yes, this drug works to help reduce migraines and muscle spasms. However, I feel obligated to advise you that if you use this drug, even in small doses on a daily basis, you may/will have some severe withdrawal symptoms (i.e., depression, insomnia, nausea, more spasticity, mood swings, hallucinations, and more). The sad part is doctors love prescribing drugs to medicate but so often do not give you the whole picture. I was not advised of the withdrawal symptoms even after weaning myself off of this drug. Please do your research before taking ANY drug."

For Muscle Spasm "Was given this drug as opposed to Soma. Started taking 20 mg 4x a day. That was on a Thursday evening, by Friday night, I was not making any sense. My husband finally rushed me into the ER when I couldn't answer questions and would only answer in a single word. I was dizzy, lightheaded, nauseous, vomiting, dry mouth, at one point, I was doing stuff in the middle of the night. I was hospitalized until things resolved."

For Migraine Prevention "Honestly, after reading all these terrible reviews, I know I am not crazy. Since starting baclofen 10 mg 3x a day, I have had tons of panic attacks. My BP has skyrocketed, and I get so sick to my stomach I have thrown up. The panic attacks are the worst. It makes my heart race like crazy. I’ll nod off like I’m passing out, only to jerk up awake again with my heart pounding. This medication is absolutely terrible. I am stopping it immediately now that I saw on here I am not the only one."

For Spasticity "I found Baclofen to be very helpful for my spasms and general muscle tightness. Unfortunately, my condition is chronic, and long-term use of Baclofen rendered it ineffective as I built a tolerance to it. And sadly, I have not found another muscle relaxer that works well for me. Some I tried gave me horrible side effects... nausea, insomnia, loss of appetite, etc. So after a short break, I'm back to taking a smaller dose of Baclofen. It's not as effective as it initially was, but I have no side effects!"

For Migraine Prevention "Taking it for a week, 10 mg twice a day. I have spasms in the back and migraines. This has increased my headaches and does nothing for my back pain. I am weaning myself off of this medication. I am constantly sick to my stomach and dizzy. Worst med ever."

For Alcohol Withdrawal "Be very careful with baclofen - the side effects for me were awful. At 60 mg, I was nauseous, dizzy, and felt like I was kind of losing my mind. It definitely took away cravings, though, but so not worth it if you can’t even function, bed-ridden. I’m on Naltrexone now, which seems to be working, and there are no side effects, so I’m going to stick with that and hope the 'extinction' effect will help me control my drinking."

For Muscle Spasm "As for pain: it's excellent. I'm only using it temporarily for sciatica. It really does help. Sleepiness: I can only take it at night. Primary side effect: nausea. I will not be using the medication long-term."

For Muscle Spasm "I have lumbar spinal stenosis and pelvic floor spasms. Baclofen 20-40 mg/day was prescribed for the stenosis before the pelvic floor spasms were diagnosed. It worked PERFECTLY to prevent me from having horribly painful leg cramps at night that would make me cry. But once the pelvic floor spasms were diagnosed and my dosage was increased to 60 mg/day, I would get horribly sick: headache, abdominal pain, and nausea to the point where I went to the ER. I guess I developed a sensitivity to it, which is a shame because it worked really well!! Now, I take 20-30 mg/day of Flexeril, and that works great but makes me very tired."

"I do believe baclofen works wonders for people with anxiety, and I recommend trying it for yourself. I took it for approximately 1 month for anxiety, and it works. The results were better than Xanax, Paxil, or Lexapro. As I worked my dosage up weekly, I became calmer and felt like myself again. However, 3 weeks in, I became very sick: nausea, dizziness, strange vision/focus issues. I was pretty much bed-bound for 5 days. I figured it was the baclofen. I cut back from 30 mg 2x a day to 20 mg 2x a day. I felt better, but not great. In the 4th week, my tongue swelled, my throat began to burn, extreme thirst; there was also a burning sensation in my chest. I am thin-my stomach was swollen and gassy. My left hand began to twitch, and the left arm would get numb while I slept. I suppose I am allergic, and it took a month of building up in my system to discover that. I have begun to taper off."

Baclofen for Neuralgia "I started taking this medication 5 days ago. It's 12:48 am, I've been up now for an hour, sick to my stomach. I'm having a hard time when I try to lie down, my throat feels like it's swelling, unable to sleep. I actually woke up throwing up. Plus, I'm still having a terrible muscle spasm in my right lower back."

For Muscle Spasm "Have been using as needed for muscle pain in my neck and shoulder for about a year. I take it at night, and it helps prevent waking up with headaches. I do have bouts of nausea, but I’m unsure if it is due to the baclofen or the copious amounts of ibuprofen I’ve taken over the years. I try not to use it in the daytime if I can help it, as it makes me drowsy."

Baclofen for Neuralgia "I had pains in my legs after knee surgery, and I took this medicine: only one pill 4 times in two days, and I have never been so sick in my entire life! I was so sick to my stomach that even water made me even more sick. Whatever I ate or drank would come back up about an hour later. I could barely stand up straight, I was shaking, I had fever and chills, etc. It was horrible! I stopped taking it as soon as this started, and then it took another two days to actually completely get out of my system!"

For Muscle Spasm "Worked well for muscle spasms, however, it made my pupils extremely dilated at 5 mg. My anesthesiologist increased my dosage to 5 mg, 3 times a day. Huge mistake. I ended up in the emergency room and was loopy and so nauseated I vomited every drop left in my stomach, even with 8 mg IV Zofran (ondansetron). Decent medication, but not for everyone."
