Qulipta (atogepant) for Migraine Prevention "I've been on Qulipta for about 2 months. I've only had severe migraines since I was shot in the head twice almost 5 years ago. (Yes, for real.) I was a Paramedic and it was my co-worker EMT that shot me. Anyway, I've tried everything else there is (that insurance would pay for). Nothing has helped. I feel like nobody gets that this is a different type of headache than a migraine. I've had migraines before and this is worse. It seemed at first that it was helping some, but the headaches are slowly getting there normal worse again. Then a good friend of mine kindly told me today that I've been struggling with anger more than usual (common problem with traumatic brain injuries). I've thought about it and only thing that's new or changed is the Qulipta. I don't know. It's all so discouraging."

Qulipta (atogepant) for Migraine Prevention "Started 60mg of Quilipta for chronic migraines post covid. Day 7 I can hardly function. Severe fatigue and anxiety and nausea. I can't tell any difference yet on effectiveness of preventing migraines. I will try to not give up yet but my.blood pressure is also elevated."

Qulipta (atogepant) for Migraine Prevention "I’ve been on Qulipta for 6 months now. It has worked better than anything else I’ve tried. No mood alteration, which has been my biggest problem with others. I noticed my BP went up as well, but it was always too low anyway. It may have increased my trouble with constipation, but it’s hard to say. My biggest complaint is weight gain. Almost 10 lbs despite almost daily exercise and a very clean diet. I’m not sure what is going on since I’ve read so many with weight loss. Dr won’t address the concern since I’m not obese."

Qulipta (atogepant) for Chronic Migraine "I've tried seven other medications (including injectables) - this is the first medication that has actually decreased my pain! I have a Chiari malformation, plus chronic migraine. After just a few weeks on 60 mg Qulipta, my daily head pressure was less, and I haven't had a full migraine at all (now six weeks into treatment). Zero side effects (though I wouldn't complain if I had the weight loss side effect!)."

Qulipta (atogepant) for Chronic Migraine "Since starting Qulipta, I haven't had a migraine. I have never gone 12 days without a migraine before. I am really concerned about the cost of the medication. Since I am on Medicare, I don't qualify for the savings program, and adding the cost of another script might not be doable."

Qulipta (atogepant) for Migraine Prevention "Qulipta has been a life changer for me. For 25 years I suffered with 2-3 migraines a week, on average, and a daily headache, ranging in severity. I've taken so many different OTC medications that they stopped working for me and I had to get a scope due to stomach ulcer concerns. I've been prescribed migraine medications in the past that never worked for me. It wasn't until I recently received my prescription for Qulipta that my life changed. I have been taking it for roughly 5 months now and I've had 3 migraines. Two of those were the result of me not having the medication for a few days while I was waiting for my prescription to arrive. I've had very few headaches as well. I cannot express how much this preventative has saved my life and has given me a brighter future. I take my pill at night with dinner and have experienced no side effects."

Qulipta (atogepant) for Migraine Prevention "I have had chronic daily migraine for 20 years and have been taking 60 mg of Quilipta for 3 months. I have had some minimal improvement with both pain and frequency. My side effects include dry mouth, hunger and chest pain."

Qulipta (atogepant) for Migraine Prevention "I was on 60mg for about 6 weeks and honestly it felt like I was taking nothing each day. I had raging migraines daily and went through two prescriptions of triptans for two months to try and survive. I have much more success on the injection preventatives in this class than this drug unfortunately."

Qulipta (atogepant) for Migraine Prevention "Daily horrible migraines. I was on Gabapentin for years- which stripped my body of B6. I had all but one of the B6 deficiency symptoms. I finally got to a Neurologist and asked to be put on something else. He gave me samples of Qulipta and within a week the daily migraines were GONE, with an occasional “breakthrough” one. 60 mg per day works for me, the main side effect can be constipation, which is easy to counter if you take minerals- especially Magnesium. Too bad it is outrageously priced and insurance won’t cover it."

Qulipta (atogepant) for Chronic Migraine "I just recently started taking Qulipta 60 mg. I received samples from my Neurologist. I was doing really well with Botox plus Vyepti and then I had a stroke. Right after the stroke my migraines went back to every day and the best I could do was to tamp the pain, nausea, confusion, light, and noise sensitivity a little bit. We decided to try something different. So I started Qulipta. Three days in I knew something was different. Even with allergy season and sinus congestion, I can almost stop the pain with a little cold medicine or dual-action medicine. I am able to think and concentrate on daily chores and paying bills. I was already tired from trouble sleeping and Qulipta makes that worse so I sometimes need to go back to bed after breakfast for a couple of hours; I have moved to take the Qulipta to the evening and that is a little better."

Qulipta (atogepant) for Migraine Prevention "I’ve been taking Qulipta for three months now and it seems to be working better than Aimovig, and Topamax, etc. I just get stomach upset and very loose stools which occurs once I wake up in the morning. I also experience vertigo with migraines and some side effects cause dizziness which is no fun to deal with. Over all this medication does reduce the number of migraines I use to have and gets my activities back but some side effects are unpleasant for me particularly since I’m very sensitive to medication."

Qulipta (atogepant) for Chronic Migraine "Have been taking Qulipta 60 mg nightly for past 5 months for chronic migraines. Prior to this medication, 3-5 migraines per week. Now 1 or 2 times a month mild migraines, usually with fast changing weather conditions. Extreme fatigue has been the side effect. Trying improved diet and increased exercise to try and counter fatigue."

Qulipta (atogepant) for Migraine Prevention "Works great! Almost 100% effective in preventing chronic daily migraines. However, I can't sleep! Taking it in the morning doesn't help. This isn't listed as a side effect, but apparently others are experiencing this too."

Qulipta (atogepant) for Migraine Prevention "I have been taking Qulipta 30 mg for 30 days with zero relief. It has also given me severe constipation. My neuro increased the dose to 40 mg and I completely stopped using the bathroom for 5 days. I suspended the medication and had a bowel movement in 24 hrs. My neuro wants me to go back down to the 30 mg dose but after taking it for 30 days with zero relief I am not sure this is working for me. I tried Nurtec and it seemed to work better with zero side effects."

Qulipta (atogepant) for Chronic Migraine "I have been taking qulipta now for about 5 months. It has been a game changer. I was having around 15 migraines a month and now I have 1 in 5 Months. My main side effect is extreme fatigue. I have to work through that because tiredness is better than migraines. It has gotten a little easier every month."

Qulipta (atogepant) for Migraine Prevention "I was getting 15-20 migraines/month. Migraines were not ever bad enough to put me in bed but were more like a strong, lingering headache that could go for days if not treated. I tried other meds first including Botox which I still use. Qulipta ( 60 mg pill 1x/day in PM) has been amazing though and the best by far. It took around 1.5 months to start working but now I am only getting a few migraines every month and have been able to treat them with OTC meds instead of a triptan rescue med which I did not like due to side effects. No side effects from Qulipta other than the constipation but it is really manageable...just drink lots of water. Note: no way to know for sure how much of my relief is from the Botox (I've only had two treatments) or the Qulipta. I hope to continue taking both!"

Qulipta (atogepant) for Chronic Migraine "I have been using Qulipta for about six months now, according to my neurologist's recommendation. 60 mg was far too much for me, so I halved the dosage. My hair has begun to fall out. I'm experiencing way more than average hair loss. I also have extreme dry eyes now. Has anyone else experienced these side effects? This medication works so well for me, so I hate to stop taking it."

Qulipta (atogepant) for Migraine Prevention "Been taking Qulipta now for about 1 month for chronic migraine. I was having 4-5 serious headaches per month prior to. Most responded to fiorcet, but decreasingly so and was very disruptive to daily life. I also struggled with pre-migraine symptoms almost daily. Even after 30 days I feel that I have had a significant reduction in pre migraine (less brain fog, less visual aura) and what headaches I have come on slower and are less severe. Headache meds when I do have a full on migraine are more effective. Trending in the right direction."

Qulipta (atogepant) for Migraine Prevention "Has been a miracle for my headaches. Bottom line...from 5 to 1 headache a week...instantly. Been without any help for 50 years. Now the bad... I have lost a LOT of weight. This med completely kills my taste for food. I want to eat but all tastes the same. So, I eat just to survive...not to enjoy."

Qulipta (atogepant) for Migraine Prevention "Qulipta has been amazing. I've been taking the 60 mg dose for a year now, and have gone from having a migraine 50% of my time to maybe 10 migraines in 12 months. My only side effect has been constipation, but that's preferable to the headaches. My only problem has been getting the savings card to work. I have private insurance which brings the cost down to around $300/month, but I have had to make multiple phone calls almost every month to get the savings card to work. It starts with the pharmacy (tells me the card doesn't work), then AbbVie call (they tell me the card is fine and should work), then Opus (they have a variety of reasons: the wrong code was entered by the pharmacy, etc.), then usually back to the doctor (verifying that there was pre-authorization), the insurance (verifying that they are processing it correctly on their end), then back to the pharmacy again. It's only worth it because this is the only medication that has worked for me."

Qulipta (atogepant) for Migraine Prevention "Currently take this and it works fairly well for me. Kind of reminds me of Nurtec with its intended purpose and category. Went from 10-15 migraines a month to 3-6. Only downside, I couldn’t eat much anymore due to loss of appetite and lost a lot of weight. To fix this, I was instructed to cut it in half which seems to have worked well so far."

Qulipta (atogepant) for Migraine Prevention "Thought I was suffering sinus headaches. 2 Drs. diagnosed migraines. Take 60 mg Qulipta b4 bed. Constipation is unbelievable. Went from a few days between relief to 8 days. Nothing helps. I still have constant "sinus" pressure but it's not severe. I haven't paid anything for 3 months. Now pharmacy is saying they need insurance approval. I won't pay >$1000 for this medicine. Taking last pill tonight."

I've been on this medication for about 8 months and it has decreased my headaches from 4 to 8 per month to 1 migraine in 8 months! This medication has been a lifesaver and has changed my life."
