Aripiprazole for Schizoaffective Disorder "Not effective enough for the long-term, therapeutic management of certain psychoses. I coped well on Aripiprazole or Abilify initially along with an antidepressant, but the benefits soon stopped. I’m now back to square 1 - paranoid, delusional, and horribly depressed and anxious. Some swear by Abilify and its non-sedating, alerting effects. I personally cannot tolerate this med any longer and will be handing it back to my pharmacy."

Aripiprazole for Schizoaffective Disorder "My doctor misdiagnosed me with schizoaffective disorder, even with an ADHD diagnosis as a child, but I figured I'd try it anyway because, hey, maybe they got it wrong back then. So I took Abilify, and by the end of week three, I damn near went psychotic and was suicidal because of it. This is the single worst drug I've ever had the displeasure of taking. I'm not saying it doesn't work, but if you get misdiagnosed, which happens often enough, you're going to have a very bad time."

For Borderline Personality Disorder "I have borderline personality disorder and panic disorder. I was on 5 mg of aripiprazole (Abilify). I was experiencing hallucinations every day that were awful. My doctor upped it to 10 mg, and it has made my life so much better. My hallucinations are almost gone, and I might feel lighter and less burdened. I’m more motivated and happier in general. I can’t recommend this medicine enough. I’m also taking it with 200 mg of sertraline (Zoloft) and 2 mg of clonazepam (Klonopin). They all work really well for me, and I’m very happy."

For Depression "This drug was wrongly prescribed and I’d like to help out the next guy. Not bashing the drug, I really have BPD… and they thought I just had “bipolar” because who wants a BPD diagnosis? Do your own self-research and get a second opinion when it comes to any antipsychotics. This medication made me psychotic… couldn’t drive without severe fear… I crashed my car into a pole. Dissociation, depression beyond anxiety. I made terrible choices. I was living a nightmare…"

Aripiprazole for Schizophrenia "My son was started on Abilify after 11 years on Zyprexa. First, he was zombie-like, and now, a year later, he is paranoid, delusional, and has a lot of cognitive deficits. Worst drug ever!!!!"

Aripiprazole for Bipolar Disorder "This medicine at 5 mg a day every day for a month was terrible. It made me have panic attacks and made me super paranoid. I was paranoid before, but it made it even worse. Would not recommend."

Aripiprazole for Schizoaffective Disorder "Eliminated hallucinations, but neither eliminated nor reduced delusions. Extreme anger, increasing as dosage increased, until becoming extremely violent. When Abilify was removed, relative calm."

Aripiprazole for Bipolar Disorder "I absolutely hated this drug. My thoughts cycled so fast, and I became 100 times more paranoid than I already am. I wouldn't leave the house and even preferred my closet. It multiplied my OCD as well."
